Da Vien has easily become one of our favorite coffee spots in Orange County and definitely one of the most unique cafes we've tried lately. We originally stopped by because we kept hearing about their specialty drinks online, and after our first visit we completely understood the hype. The strawberry matcha was amazing -- really fresh tasting with a smooth matcha flavor that wasn't bitter at all. The strawberry balanced it perfectly without making the drink overly sweet or artificial tasting. You can tell they use quality ingredients because everything tasted really clean and well made. We also tried the ube coffee which ended up being one of the biggest surprises for us. The ube flavor was rich, creamy, and earthy in the best way while still letting the coffee come through. A lot of places make novelty drinks that look better than they taste, but Da Vien actually delivers on both presentation and flavor. Our favorite drink overall is still their matcha coffee. We order it almost every visit now because it's consistently so good. The combination of matcha and coffee is balanced perfectly and gives a really smooth energy boost without tasting too heavy. If you like both coffee and matcha, this drink is a must try. The cafe itself has a nice atmosphere and the staff has always been friendly and patient even when it gets busy. Service moved pretty quickly and the drinks came out looking just as good as they tasted. It's clear they put a lot of care into what they serve here. Overall, Da Vien stands out from a lot of other coffee shops because the drinks feel creative while still being genuinely high quality. Tried the banana latte with half sweetener and oat milk and it was pretty good! Light on the banana taste until the latter part of the drink. Still light, but not as subtle. Great espresso taste. There's a self-service kiosk or a line where you actually can talk with someone. There's also a bathroom, but it's keyed only so you'll have to ask the front if you want to use it. But it's clean! They also have some food, but we didn't try any this time around. Parking can get a little hectic, especially on the weekends. Good luck! Also, they have some swag. They also have beans, but they don't sell them. I get that they're "for display only", but why have them out in coffee bean bags in the first place if they're not going to sell them? read more

Service is quick, place is pretty upbeat. Lighting in the store is great. Good vibes. My friend and I got the matcha and ube coffee. Both coffee flavors were flavorful, intense, and it is what it is--Not watered down at all. Creamy, condensed, thick, pretty caffeine packed and had a nice aroma to them. Usually the matcha at the top dissolves and mixes with the coffee but I felt that it kept its texture throughout most of the day. Updating my review because the coffee is absolutely delicious! These Vietnamese coffee so it's very strong, but it makes the flavor more potent against the flavored cream. Creamy, smooth, flavorful, and just plain delicious. It honestly feels like a breakfast dessert... but with legit coffee behind it. A little indulgent calorie-wise, sure, but totally worth it. If you're going to splurge, this is how you do it. The space itself is small and cozy, with a little patio out front. You can self-order or order at the counter--easy either way. The vibe is unique and different, which is refreshing in a world of copy-paste coffee shops. I've seen so many people on socials getting all kinds of drinks at Da Vien and finally got the opportunity myself to come here on a recent trip to Westminster. Their egg cream is easily one of the best I've had and it complements their strong Viet coffee so well. I intentionally ordered the coffee extra sweet to help tone down the potency level. Hands down one of the best coffee shops I've ever had! I first tried Da Vien at this location many years ago, and have tried the egg cream coffee, matcha cream coffee, ube cream coffee, Vietnamese coffee, marble drip, sesame latte, banana latte, strawberry tea, strawberry milk matcha, and coconut matcha at just this location throughout my many visits here. I don't think I've ever had a drink I didn't like, though my go-to's (some from other Da Vien locations) are the egg cream coffee, banana latte, banana matcha latte and, more recently, the coconut matcha (SO refreshing!). The banana cream is one of the best in the game, and the egg cream coffee is a classic you just keep coming back to. Lines can get pretty long at times, but typically moves quickly. Limited seating indoors with some tables outside as well. Next door to Bake & Che if you're feeling some desserts too, because why not?! We came here after having lunch at QUA which was about 5 minutes away. It was our first time trying DA VIEN & I heard a lot of my Yelpie friends talk about so I walked to find out what the hype was all about... PANDAN MILK TEA: 10/10 Star of the show! This bustling plaza is thriving because of a Da Vien Coffee! I can see locals lining up bright and early to get their cup of coffee. I've come to different locations to try their drinks, and I really like their coffee creations. They were one of the first cafes to introduce me to Egg Cream coffee and Vietnamese coffee drinks. Since then, they've included other drinks like matcha and fruit teas, and einspanners. Ordering is easy and can be done via website, mobile ordering, and or at the kisok/counter. I ordered up front to ask for a recommendation. I ordered their Black Sesame Matcha and substituted the milk for oat milk. This is the move for a creamier drink! The black sesame and oat milk go so well together and gives the drink a rich taste. Their lattes are fairly sweeter, so I would get half the sweetness level. Da Vien is a staple here in the area and has remained fairly consistent across their multiple locations. There's a reason why Davien was/is a local favorite that quickly expanded locations in OC and has now opened up locations in LA -- it's reliably consistent, offers a good variety of drinks for all palates, and fairly priced relative to other beverage places. Despite its continued popularity and large crowds (even on a random weekday) the online ordering system helps minimize the frustrations of wait times (if you prefer there's also an ordering kiosk or register to order at the location). I love the degree of customization you can make to your drinks -- from 30-50% sweetness, to "less cream and more coffee" adjustments, you can really make the perfect drink of you. I love the details they have for to-go orders -- from the plastic bags with perfectly sized slots for the cups (so they don't wiggle around to spill) to the little plastic caps placed over the openings for double the security to prevent spillage. I got the matcha cream coffee for myself this round. The pebbled ice they use is my favorite - it's the best way to finish your drink when they're semi-covered in the sweet cream from your drink with that nice light crunch you get from the ice. I adjusted the drink to 30% sweetness, more coffee than cream, with light ice and it's the perfect blend of rich from the cream but strong from the coffee. Some of my other favorites include any ube or sesame flavored drinks -- they always make sure that the flavors (whether it's matcha, ube, or sesame) are bold and hold up against their coffee counterpart. Davien proves time and again why they are my default go-to coffee place when I'm in the area--their drinks always hit every aspect I want in a Vietnamese coffee. I ended off my final lunch of jury duty by stopping at Da Vien coffee, as seen on Tik Tok if you're on OC matcha TikTok like me. Anyways, I managed to find parking pretty quick (but it's crowded, I can't lie) and walked inside. I was able to order immediately at the kiosk and got an iced matcha with oat (no almond milk, rip) with sesame foam and 50% sweetness. I thought the price was fine. I sat in one of the stools while I waited, as it took a few minutes. The inside is cute! Im glad I got 50% sweet as the drink was already sweet in general! I was a little taken aback by the foam because I had never had sesame foam. It was kind of salty and nutty, if that makes any sense, but it went surprisingly well with the matcha. Overall, not a bad spot! Again, Westminster/Garden Grove is the hotspot for matcha and coffee places, so while Da Vien isn't on the top of that list for me, it's still a spot worth checking out. read more

Tried their coconut blended coffee at 50% sweetness Wow. The coffee hits you right in the face to wake you up while the soft coconut top with toasted coconut bits softly picks you up from the punch of the coffee I think I could've gotten it a tiny bit sweeter but it was still pretty good! I wanted to take my parents here to try their drinks. The first time I was introduced to this chain was by a friend and we went to the Garden Grove location. I knew my parents would like it so I brought them to the Westminster location. We ordered the Ube Macha latte and the strawberry Matcha latte which is a seasonal item. I have to say both drinks are very delicious. The Ube Matcha isn't too sweet and gives a bit of a earthy taste from the Ube, but I like it like that. The strawberry Matcha latte we kept it at normal weight level with one pump of syrup and less ice. We thought this was the perfect combination because it was still sweet, but not overly sweet. Next time I want to come back and try the strawberry Matcha latte and the pen and milk. The girl server was very nice and patient when I had a few questions about the drink drinks. We decided to order on the kiosk to get through the payment process faster and the drinks came out pretty fast, within five minutes. We came here about 20 minutes before closing. There were still people and their families hanging out inside and outside and talking. You can tell this is a favorite spot with the locals. It is also located right next-door to bake & che. During the day this plaza will probably be really hard to find parking because there's also a grocery market here and another Vietnamese dessert shop.
