The food is great, the service was excellent and both of these attributes are well documented by all the reviews. Frankly, I do not think you can pick anything but winners on their menu. The complimentary popcorn is a thoughtful offering for munching on while you wait, but not me because I was all over the restaurant enjoying their artwork. Tasso makes the best sandwich in the Treasure Valley! The bread is bakery fresh with a nice chew and the meat is very high quality. I like the Tasso Jr w Turkey but the Devil is a close second. Tried the on line order option on our last visit (Friday mid day). Food was ready in 10 min and having my credit card on file, was as easy as it gets to get in and out with our pack. read more

This place never disappoints! I don't live in Boise, but I make sure to always stop here whenever I drive through, I love it so much. We got the Kimchi Klub and Tasso Junior sandwiches. They're beautiful sandwiches, and packed with so much flavor. We also got the salmon potato salad and pasta salad. Everything was so good!! This was my first visit to Tasso and I loved it. I ordered the Devil sandwich with a side of white bean and roasted garlic soup. Oh. My. Word. The garlic in the soup was amazing. It was so garlicky. I am a garlic girl and they clearly knew what they were doing when they added this item to their menu. The devil sandwich was so good. I loved the whole grain mustard. We went to Tasso when it was in BODO and decided to make the journey to its new eagle location. We got the sticky shrimp sandwich and the kimchi club with smoked salmon potato salad. I was concerned when the cashier didn't know the difference between cold and hot smoked salmon... but regardless it tuned out to be pretty good and worth trying. Sticky shrimp sandwich was slightly spicy, crunchy, messy and so good! The combo of mint and spice was great. I would go back just for that sandwich. For the kimchi sandwich I wish the kimchi was more prevalent.. it got lost in all the meats. That being said it was still delicious and would order it again. The environment is very small but a large outside area.. not sure what it's like during the winter. read more

This new to Eagle lunch spot is so welcome! I used to go out of my way to eat at their Boise location because it was SO WORTH IT. Now all of my sandwich and salad dreams have come true because they're just around the corner for me. The new location ( old zen bento) is an even better space, just the right cozy size and a peaceful shady outdoor eating area. What hasn't changed is the great service and the positive and friendly vibe! The owner chef really cares about quality and service and it shows. The sandwiches are inventive and delicious but my most recent binge has been the deli salad and the chickpea salad. Delicious! I usually try whatever sandwich the chef recommends because they usually have a special and they are always fantastic. This is the only place to lunch in Eagle as far as I'm concerned! read more

The Kimchi Club? Brilliant. Popcorn instead of potato chips as a side dish? Brilliant. Pork rinds on a sandwich? I can't believe I'm saying this, brilliant. I called Tasso twenty five minutes before they closed tonight to place a take-out order. I asked the girl who helped me on the phone what she suggested trying and she said the Kimchi Club. Perhaps I'm too trusting, but without hesitation I went with her recommendation. It was incredible! Bread that has a slight crunch on the outside yet is soft and chewy on the inside, tangy kimchi, Tasso's fancy rendition on coleslaw, house-cured ham and turkey and...pork rinds! Part of me thought about pulling the pork rinds off, but I decided I should give them a shot first. Oh. My. Word. They pulled all of the other flavors in this sandwich together. It is the strangest combination of ingredients, but it works. The sandwich is so delicious it can stand alone, but to take it to the next level, Tasso serves popcorn along with every order. This is no regular salted butter popcorn, this stuff is thoughtfully seasoned. It has a sweet, smokey and savory taste to it. In addition to the popcorn, they also give you a pickle that is cured in house - this was also fantastic. Each of the items were tasty on their own, but altogether they made for a meal where each dish complimented the other! The total with tax came out to $10.60 - I'd say this is fair considering how huge their sandwiches are and the generous portion sizes of their side dishes. read more

Have been wanting to try Tasso for a while now, and finally did . WOW !!! Soo good. I am a sandwich guy, and this place just took first place in my heart. It is located in the BoDo section of downtown Boise. The inside is sparse, kinda 70's dinner feel. We were greeted by a very friendly woman who described the process, and shared some of her favorites. You basically get to choose from a dozen or so sandwich combinations. There were many that looked fantastic, but we both decided on the Country Devil. A mixture of ham, roasted pork, and gruyere cheese. Fantastic !! It comes on artisan, crunchy french bread softened by the pork juices..... A side salad also came with the sandwich. I will be back soon to try a few other sandwiches. The customer service was great and the cashier super helpful, even going so far as to share her favorite sandwiches. The location doesn't have great access to free parking, unless you park in the garage and leave in under an hour so it's free. Our sandwiches were so fresh and delicious. The popcorn they had was paprika and nori flavored which was so odd, but super tasty! The ingredients seem to be top notch and I love that lemonade and water are available without me having to ask. Clean, cutesy sandwich shop in downtown Boise. Every time I've gone in, I've been greeted right when I walk in and overall have been impressed with their hospitality. The sandwiches have quality ingredients and are well balanced. It was supposedly ham and pork, all tasted the same. There was no pickled onion as advertised on either of our sandwiches. The after taste of the meat was quite unpleasant and long lasting. I normally pack my own lunch during the work week but I think I'm going to have to make it a habit to treat myself to some Tasso once a week from here on out. It's quickly become my new favorite sandwich shop in the Northwest. The food, atmosphere and service are beyond five stars. All of their sandwiches include a fresh & delicious side salad, complimentary lemonade, and seasoned popcorn (so yum!!) My favorite sandwich is the chickpea. They have options for vegans and omnivores. A few different soups (I haven't tried those yet but look & smell so good) and daily lunch specials. The full portions are BIG and super filling, but you have the option of a half sandwich/half soup or salad lunch meal too. I can't say enough great things about Tasso. Easily the best lunch spot in Boise. There's a lunch beers special if you're into the wet lunch; for $3 how could you not be? What I really liked about their sandwiches was the bread. Having a lighter bread that doesn't feel heavy but still compliments the overall sandwich is the most important aspect when constructing a gourmet deli sandwich. Three of us had lunch at Tasso on a Friday just after noon. We had never been before and did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. Though I would describe it as "fast food casual", it had adequate seating if you don't mind sharing a table or sitting at the "bar". The menu is written on a white board above the hostess/cashier/order desk and is quite extensive. There is an open window to the kitchen allowing for conversation with the staff (nice friendly folk back there!!!). Serve yourself popcorn (it was fennel flavored Friday) and lemonade accompany all orders. Draft beer selection is good, though not extensive. We each had different sandwiches: the Country Devil, Tasso Sandwich and the Duck Dip. All three were excellent! So, good food, good service, friendly and comfortable atmosphere, plus killer popcorn!!!! read more

Tasso is a great place for lunch. The pork is done perfectly and the sandwiches are a delicious mix of flavors and textures. All ordering is done at the counter and the menu is small, which isn't a bad thing because each thing is done so well. I love that they have free popcorn and lemonade. The last time I visited it was curry popcorn and that in itself was almost my meal! The lemonade is very good but a bit sweet for my taste. I'm not crazy about the layout having separated dining areas because it feels like once you have your food they forget about you. I get that it is a deli style experience but everything else they do is so good, I'd like someone to walk by and see how things are going or if I need anything else. Ask them how the place came to be, it's a cool story. This is a place I'll eat often when I'm downtown, I hope soon they'll open a West Boise location. read more
