I was passing through the town with a friend so we decided to stop in based on someone else's recommendation. Ordered a small cappuccino and there was a crumb cake in the case so I had that. Nothing else appealed to me. Little pricey with streusel on top, of the crumb cake, that was almost pure sugar. I picked most of it off. And, why all the complicated Wi-Fi codes in a basket that are all different? Why not just login when you're there, like it's done in most stores nowadays. I absolutely love this spot. From their breakfast sandwiches to their pastries and desserts, they are simply amazing. All of their baked goods are made from scratch and fresh the day of. The seating area is pretty interesting with coffee tables, sofas, and high tables. There's even a chess table you can play chess. They have live band that plays here on certain nights, don't recall which ones. Definitely a great place to hang out with friends or get work done. read more

There were quite a few gnats or large fruit flies buzzing around while we ate, which was surprising for mid-November, which made me wonder about the kitchen conditions. Delicious food. I live locally and have never had anything other than sweet treats from Taste Budds. I had a Chicken wrap with pesto on a whole wheat wrap. Wow!! Absolutely delicious & nutritious! Been here twice. Food was not hot each time and service was slow. Want to like this place more than I do.

If you wanna meet up early with a friend & just grab a bev and chill, this is the only game in town. Plenty of outdoor & indoor seating and nobody is rushing you out the door. That being said, nobody is rushing to do anything in this joint so just enjoy it for what it is. The staff turn over is high so be patience with the folks at the counter cuz chances are they were just trained within the last 24 hrs. read more

In this eclectic town of Red Hook is a little café called Taste Budds. One day while needing a lunch, and something different from pizza, or chinese, I decided to stop in. Nothing on the menu I was interested in, so I ordered the "buds Booster Burrito" a mixture of Avocado, chicken, beans, and Chipotle mayo. Since I don't like spicy food I told them to substitute the chipotle may for regular mayo. The Burritto was filled with beans (love them) and overall really liked it. Then for something quite healthy for lunch I ordered the same thing. I had placed the order on the website, and maid it quite clear to sub the chipotle mayo for regular mayo, instead I got it with "add regular mayo" which maid it spicy. In that trip I also bought a cheesecake, which I didn't like (just my opinion, nothing they did good or bad.) One bad thing I do have to say are prices. The whole order for a cheesecake and the burittio were $14.58. I will be back to order your delicious food. read more

Thanks for opening back up - for at least people who feel like they "must" come in and don't really want to order online - like I was today. However short a stay it was for me - as I noticed signs that were drawing me back out and to my car around the corner with your phase 3 welcoming at the sofas only (even though in some spots on these sofa's it's less than 6 feet), I had a relative that needed to be sat with that I needed to go back to. I'm glad there's no more "table in the foyer under a door under lock and key" or the former basket under a window to hold cash for certain orders - no signs of those anymore. I never used them, but I saw all the signs (I removed both pictures I took and posted from my account and they are no longer seen now.) However, if I could, may I ask you to please cool off on the amount of cheese you are using for the Chicken Caesar salad I ordered? It was swimming with cheese, and having the chicken cut so fine - I could barely notice the chicken at first. I also felt the salad was a bit spicy and I know I wasn't tasting the croutons at the time - I was thinking more along the lines of the dressing, but I really don't know why it was this way - and this wasn't the first one from here that seemed that way (the one in April was just as spicy). Also, the 91-year-old person who I was bringing the bagel to was hardly able to handle such a thick bagel - something I had forgotten since my last bagel this past September - but devoured what she could handle (I ended up handling the rest, even dealing with the salad too. Ugh!) I wasn't too pleased that you aren't selling flavored cream cheeses to customers. I asked for two common flavors of cream cheeses and neither one was sold by your cafe. The employee told me they could add jelly, but that makes the texture so much different. Dan (you messaged me a few years ago), can you see about finding some flavored cream cheeses to sell?- you probably won't even need to make much, unless you see a great influx. read more
