Fantastic selection of NY products. Great beers, wines, syrup and treats. Lots of commuters stopping by to make their trip home a little bearable with beer and wine by the cup. Looking forward to coming back when we are in the area. You should too!

A great little addition to GCT. Reasonably priced. A nice selection of cold beer in the fridge to pop and go catch your train. Will check at the wine selection next time. ;)

Today is opening day and a fantastic day for Taste NY - Grand Central, and New York "Eating their own dogfood" so to speak! Operated and Curated by the One Woman Winery, one of my two favorite wineries on the North Fork of Long Island and a tribute to the hard work of Claudia and Gabriella Purita, and fantastic wines that they produce. Featuring all New York themed wines, beers, jams, chips, cookies, sodas, popcorn, cheeses, and the list goes on! It's conveniently located across from the Starbucks by track 36&37 at Grand Central Terminal! Stop by for fantastic NYS tastings of whatever they are pouring for the day! I was really pleased to try out this coffee spot that also serves wines during the day, until I realized that my cappuccino was only half way through the cup, at most. Apparently I was the only customer at that time, so "too rushed" would not explain. Skip, enough said.

I've liked this place from the day it opened. I was taking Metro North from Grand Central, and just about to head for track 36 when I saw a nicely lit shop with wine bottles and an array of snacks. Instead of buying my little screw-capped plonk from the portable beverage stand I bought a One Woman Gruner for the ride, along with some high-end chips and cheese. Not only did I discover a female winemaker from Long Island that produces excellent varietals, but I had a great train ride. I closed my eyes and imagined I was riding in a 1950s bar car. I guess you can cruise GCT and put together a picnic basket for your trip that is as good as you can here. Here, it's one stop shopping, which is great if you're cutting it close to departure time. But I also value that everything in the shop is made in New York State.

I opened the bottle immediately after purchase and the inside of the cork had mold all over it. So, I went back to the store that same evening (10min later), figuring it would be a quick exchange or refund. However, a man who identified himself only as the "manager" flat out refused to consider any idea that the cork was moldy, or any sort of exchange or refund. I even showed the cork to another customer in front of the manager, as a sanity check, and the other customer agreed the "white fuzz" over the inside of the cork was mold. Instead, the "manager" was extremely rude and highly aggressive. He continued to try to gaslight me into thinking it is "normal" for wine corks to have white fuzz on the inside and then proceeded to ask me why I opened it if it was moldy (which, of course, I wouldn't have known because it was on the INSIDE of the cork and wine bottles are opaque). Anyways, I ended up thanking him for his time and telling him I would no longer shop here. If you are the owner of this business, please consider adjusting your staff and business policies because you are losing business. Instead of exchanging a $20 bottle of wine, you have now lost my $100's of business every quarter.
