I like this location. Who doesn't want something to buy after a long day whether leaving the city or coming into the city. Pro - located near 19 across from Zaro's. Always clean and staff is friendly all the time. It does not matter what time I go they are always nice and will make suggestions. Bottles are a lil more expensive compared to a a location outside manhattan area to be expected. It's priced similarly to other places in the city. There's a good selection from mini bottles to larger bottles and wine. I miss the already made bottles you can get on Amtrak they use to sell. You will not find everything here but there a decent selection. I like the virtual pay option to use apple pay for a seamless payment option. I would recommend. You can go there for a drink after grabbing food downstairs or vice versa before going on with your day or ending it. read more

Pros: Conveniently located inside the main terminal of Grand Central Station, nice location and surprisingly decent prices. Cons: Customer service, there basically is none. 4 people standing behind the counter talking and laughing, ignoring everyone. I wasn't spoken to until after I paid and then wanted to ask if I needed a bag for a new cost of .15 cents. So many other places to buy alcohol including GCS where people are appreciated for shopping. read more

If you need a quick bottle of wine or booze before jumping on a train to visit someone for dinner this shop is conveniently located right inside Great Central Station. Yet, with that convenience comes higher prices. They have a decent selection of wines by regional variety, along with harder liquors and spirits, along with some bottles and cans. Prices are a bit higher than you'll find in your local shop, but if you look around you can find different price points to choose from. They have some glass displays with some of the super expensive stuff which I certainly can't afford! Cool architecture here as the ceiling has the same design features as the overall station. read more

This shop is conveniently located inside Grand Central station. It's small, but has a good selection. Very well organized wine offerings. One employee was super friendly and asked if I needed any assistance. Definitely on the pricier side, but a good option for wine or liquor in a pinch. read more

Great selection. Prices are pretty good. Customer service is lacking. After spending $50 on two whites the cashier waited until after my card went through to say that the bag was $0.15. Since I didn't have change I wasn't going to break a 20 bill for the bag. read more

Brand new wine and spirits store in Grand Central Terminal! Located just across from Track 17! I needed to grab a bottle of wine just before I hop on the train and Central Cellars was conveniently located right there for me. The lively music and bright lights really attracted me to walk in. I loved how neatly organized this store is by type of alcohol like the sake and champagne section. On the window display, they were showcasing their rose collection. Whispering Angel 2015 was available and I knew I had to grab a bottle for my family. Wine was light and tasty. Everyone enjoyed it over dessert. It seems like champagne and rose are super popular here. An ideal grab-and-go spot for all commuters! read more

When this dump of place took over after the iconic Grande Harvest closed, I had my reservations and high expectations. Long story short, if your gut tells you no, go with it. If you have loyalty to an old favorite shop, even after it closes, honor that. I have been here a few times. Service is touch and go. But at least the prices are astronomical! There was a viral video a few months ago about something - like a charger or phone- catching fire behind the employee counter in a wine store in Grand Central. That was them. I'm saying God doesn't like ugly and karma is calling their name. If, when I come in, you don't smell the wine wafting from my pores, do you even know wine? Are you a sham? Is this a sham wine store? All signs point to yes. It seems Grand Central Terminal has pushed out their older, well-established businesses with whoever is willing to pay hefty rent. And patrons pay, too, by not even an acknowledgment when you pop in. The lingering finish to this barnyard store is that of disrespect. As I waited on line to pay, the cashier saw me and did not offer to ring me up. He was, however, available 10 seconds later for the woman behind me. All for a flabby pinot grig. Completely and utterly overpriced. $13 for a midly cold CAN of Rosé, 13$ for a 375ml bottle of Prosecco. Use this place as a SUPER last resort, if price point doesn't matter to a big balla like you, or like in my case, an urgency to pre-game discreetly at your desk in the office. The only pro I would say is the selection of beers and liquor. It has a lot given it's small size. read more

Although the prices are a tad high and it's not huge, this shop, located in the Greybar passage, has a decent selection of liquors, including a few amari. It's clean too. I'd stop by if I was in a rush on the way out somewhere in Upstate for sure. read more

I was taking the metro north train upstate. I stopped in Central Cellars to get a bottle for my friends that I was staying with and also got something for myself for the trip. The staff was really helpful and knowledgable. They rang me up and wrapped the gift really fast so I didn't miss my train. It was really convenient and it is located in Grand Central Station across from track 16/17. read more

The wine selection here is pretty decent. They have a variety of regions well represented in many price ranges. What truly draws me here though is the spirits. They have a really well curated selection of bourbons, ryes & whiskeys to die for. The piece de resistance is the little glass display case in the front with some of the super high priced bourbons like Pappy Van Winkle. If I win the lotto I'll be here to buy out that case. From old and rare to new and treasured that case is my jam. They also have some nice New York distilled products here as well. Excellent scotch and rum choices abound here as well. Easy to grab a bottle on the way home and the sales staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I frequent this place often usually just to browse. I never feel rushed and people are patient with my questions on my scouting missions. In short if you're in Grand Central check it out. I think you may be very pleased that you did. read more

Central Cellar is a very small wine shop in Grand Central. While they don't have as many bottles and different options as a larger wine shop will, the wines are carefully selected and cover many different varieties. They carry a lot of quality bottles and the owner especially is incredibly helpful and knowledgable. The prices are a little high -- not that there aren't options for many different price ranges, but I have seen the same bottles elsewhere for a bit cheaper. But the location is very convenient and they do carry some bottles I have been looking for but haven't seen elsewhere, so it is worth it. I'd definitely come back for more wine. read more

No rhyme or reason as to how the wines are organized (they're not - everything is all over the place) so good luck finding what you want without asking someone, and then when you ask for help good luck getting any sort of reasonable answer from anyone.
