So glad there's a Tastea slightly closer to me now! Even though I typically like milk teas, Tastea is the only boba spot where I always get their fruit teas. My go-to drink is the Peach Me Sweetea. It has chunks of real fruit at the bottom and their honey boba is my favorite. Their green honey boba is unique looking, but tastes the same as normal boba. It's soft, but still chewy. I ordered online, so pick up was really quick. The only downside during my last visit was that there was barely any boba. There was 1 layer and a lot less compared to the previous times I've had it at other locations. Other than that, I crave their drinks and have to go when I'm in the South Bay. Unfortunately the cool green boba and their normal honey boba is tasteless and the main reason to get boba is for the boba! My boyfriend had one of their smoothies and he said it was mainly ice. The strawberry milk tea is honestly my favorite and I'm so glad it's no longer a secret menu item and you can fine it when you order online through their app. I was able to place my order online and it only took 5 minutes before it was ready for pick up. I got the strawberry milk tea and this time I thought I try the oat milk sub instead of the usually dairy free creamer which is the default! I'm not lactose but I've been recently into oat milk so I try to get this substitute whenever I can! I personally prefer milk tea over fruit but I can't drink it all because I feel so bloated but the oat milk substitute makes it's possible to enjoy it more! I got it medium sweet but I think it's possible to lower the sweetness down one more level to low. The oat dies water down the taste a little bit but that's because diary product just has more fat! I also picked honey boba topping and if you haven't been tried it from tastea it's green! I'm not sure why it's green but it taste like normal boba with the perfect amount of soft and chewiness! Would come back again! They have a lot of other drinks and they have popular fruits teas! Maybe in the future I might switch up my usual strawberry milk but this is always my go to! When Tastea first opened up in SJ, I was so happy because it is one of my favorite tea chains from LA. When I heard that they were opening one in Sunnyvale, my excitement shot through the roof. I've been here very many times over the course of the year they have been open and each time, I've become more and more disappointed. Today was my last straw (har har) with this Tastea location. I just want to start off by saying, my friends always order the Sweet Me Peach Tea and they love it. The sweetness has gone up over the year, but they've learned to get it less sweet each time. But this drink has always been very consistent, so +1 star for that. Me on the other hand, my go to drink here is their Vietnamese iced coffee (don't @ me for getting coffee at a milk tea shop). The very first time I came here, I ordered a large and got a 32oz cup filled to the top with coffee and ice. The drink was just perfect and I was very pleased. Fast forward a month or so later, I came back and ordered the exact same drink, but this time I asked for no ice. I was informed that the drink wouldn't be filled to the top, which I was ok with since the girl told me that the recipe is pretty set unless I wanted to pay for a top off. The drink still came in a 32oz cup, just slightly less filled. Still tasted great. Fast forward another couple months, my friends and I came on a random weeknight and I tried to order my usual - large vietnamese iced coffee, no ice. This time, my drink came in a 20oz cup filled half way. My friends and I were very confused as to why there was so much less coffee this time around than last time. I proceeded to ask the girl who made the drink and she informed me that that was the recipe and they couldn't do anything about it. She said that if I wanted a full cup, next time, I should pay extra for the fill up option, so I took my drink and left somewhat unsatisfied. Now, fast forward to the present day... I swung by for their bogo anniversary event and ordered my same exact drink, but this time I asked for the drink to be topped off. I paid the extra price for the top off on both the coffees and proceeded to wait for my drinks to come out. When they did, I was absolutely SHOCKED. They came in 20oz cups that were half full and filled with ice. I proceeded to ask the guy who handed me my drink if he was sure this was my order because I ordered 2 large vietnamese iced coffees, no ice, topped off and the drinks he handed me were in 20oz cups, black coffee, filled with ice and only half filled with coffee. He insisted that the vietnamese coffee only came black and that the top off was only 2 oz. I was so flabbergasted, but the line was so long and the outside was so crowded that I just took my drinks and left. When I got home, I went online and checked to make sure their menu description didn't change for the drink I ordered. It didn't ..."Vietnamese iced coffee: dark roast slow drip coffee with CREAM, CONDENSED MILK & a hint of hazelnut". Unless their cream and condensed milk are black, my drink clearly didn't have any... Also, unless their coffee only comes in a 2oz serving, I'm pretty sure my drink wasn't topped off. I measured out how much liquid was in each cup and it came out to a total of 4oz (yes call me petty or whatever, but I had to know) without ice. Luckily, I got these 2 coffees as a bogo deal, otherwise I would have been livid at the fact I paid $8 for each coffee that I received. After my experience today, I'd much rather drive an extra 15 minutes to go to the SJ location where their drinks are consistent every time I go. 3.5 stars but will round up to 4 since it was an overall good experience. I placed an order on the Tastea website about 40 minutes before my scheduled pick-up time. My drinks weren't ready when I arrived, and they didn't start prepping my drinks until after I checked in. It was another 10-15 minute wait for 4 drinks, which would've been a similar wait time if I hadn't ordered ahead. I didn't mind since I wasn't in a rush, but there wasn't really a benefit in ordering ahead besides contactless payment. Since it was our first time, we ordered full sweet for all the drinks and they were VERY sweet. I would recommend medium sweet or even less. The Tiger Milk Tea was good for a sweet fix, but it was more on the creamy side with little tea flavor. The boba was nice and chewy but wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I also tried The Unknown (mango & passion fruit black tea with longan), and it was very fruity and refreshing! I first tried Tastea in OC, and it's pretty good for the real fruit tea drinks. It always trips me out how their boba is green though. I swung by the Sunnyvale location after a visit to EWC. I ordered two types of strawberry drinks and one passionfruit drink with added honey boba. The passionfruit drink was for me, and having already been semi familiar with other Tastea locations, I asked for 0% sweet. Boy, good thing I did because even with 0% sweet it was just way tol sweet for my taste. I blame the honey boba. On the other hand, my parents will take a bit of sugar in their teas, so I had asked for 25%. After handing them their drinks, I forewarned them that it may be too sweet compared to what they're used to from Happy Lemon and Teaspoon. My mom, who has a solid sweet tooth, agreed. Her other complaint was that the strawberry tasted slimey. I wish I had snapped a picture, but it looked like she had grass jelly in her drink. If we were more Asian, this would be a bonus since I don't believe grass jelly was listed as an ingredient for the drink, but my parents are quite Americanized so my mom was a bit horrified instead. read more

Tastea is one of my go-to boba chains in the South Bay! I used to frequent Tea Top and TP Tea but prefer Tastea because of their non-dairy milk options + yummy boba. I almost always order a milk tea with honey boba (their green boba) and nondairy milk, ~$6 for a medium. My go-to teas are their Golden (Assam black tea) and Jasmine, and I'm also a huge fan of their Thai and Matcha Coffee. I don't like super sweet beverages and prefer stronger tea flavor, so I always request lite sweetness. Their honey boba can be a little inconsistent, but I've found it to be sweeter and more "q" than the boba at nearby boba shops. My bf really enjoys their fruit teas, especially the Peach Me Sweetea and Lychee Peachee. The employees here are generally pretty friendly, and pre-COVID they had samples at the register. Throughout COVID I've been using their app to order, and my drinks are almost always ready at the scheduled pick-up time! read more

This review is for the avocado avalanche. Second time I've been here within a week. I ordered the same drink/size for avocado avalanche. Very disappointed. I cannot taste the avocado in my drink. Omg it tastes like a milk shake without any avocado. They used to have a good amount of avocados in the drink, but with inflation they probably used very little avocados. It's so sad. Me and my brothers have been to Tastea multiple times and the quality of their drinks is always fantastic! Online ordering and picking up is straightforward and easy to navigate :) We usually order the Tiger Milk, Matcha Thai Tea, and some sort of fruit smoothie and have enjoyed all of them every time. The boba texture is great, and the flavor of the drinks is also delicious! The drinks are pretty sweet, but the sweetness levels are adjustable. Tastea is one of my go to spots for boba! I really enjoy coming to this location because I am always greeted by the workers coming in and they all are always in a good mood while making tea. I usually order the Peachme Sweettea which is their number one on their top ten list. I recommend it if you really like fruit teas, it is sweet so if you are not a fan of anything super sweet I would reduce the sugar level. I always go for the 32 oz because I just love the drink so much! It is a perfect drink to have on a hot day, but really on any other day too. They have a really nice set up in the location with plenty of outdoor seating and a good amount of indoor seating. It is located in a really nice plaza with a lot of food choices around. Also, a TON of parking so you would never have to worry about parking when you go. The only downside is that they do not have food on their menu like other locations do. Hopefully one day they'll add food to their menu! read more

I wanted to try this place since my friends recommended their fruit teas. Ordered on Yelp and order was ready after 15 minutes. We got the lychee peachee black tea and jasmine green milk tea. I'm a huge fan of milk teas and rarely order fruit teas since I find them too sweet. The jasmine milk tea had a strong tea taste which I appreciated but you really couldn't taste the jasmine flavor which was kind of a bummer. The lychee peachee black tea was pretty good and comes with canned lychee chunks which make the drink even sweeter (I ordered lite sweetness). The drink was refreshing overall and I would come back and order zero sweetness next time. It's been a few weeks since we've all been staying home and keeping everyone safe. And I was craving boba like nobody's business. This place opened very recently before all of this shelter in business business took place. I didn't get to try it before but needing to get out, I took a walk here (it's not too far from my place) to pick up a drink or two. There was a couple walking ahead of me and they walked inside and picked up a tray full of drinks. They must've ordered online or called in their order. But nice to know, you can order ahead. Anyways I walked in and they had like tables strategically placed to try and keep the 6 feet minimum distance away from the counters. It was safe. Anyways I got their two most popular drinks - the Peach Me Sweetea and the Lychee Peachee. I got both of them medium sweet with less ice. I think it was still too sweet for me - so I might try the lite sweetness next time. I think between the two, I also preferred the peach me. It could use a little bit more tea flavor though. I like the fresh fruit bits in both - strawberries and lychee, respectively. Also got to try the honey boba and the lychee jelly. Both were great. I drank the one with boba first, since boba gets hrd if you save it overnight. And I saved the lychee jelly drink for the next day and it saved very well. Price point wise, it's a litlte pricey. With the add-on's, it's an almost $6 drink for the regular size (prob $7 for the large size). So it can add up, if you get drinks regularly. Overall, happy to have a new boba place nearby. read more

Leaving a review in the parking lot. Paid almost 9.00 for a drink and I paid extra for peaches. Didn't get extra peaches and when I asked for more I was told no. I spend so much here on a weekly basis and I know what extra peaches looks like. This is my regular drink. The way this situation was handled put a bad taste in my mouth. I guess I will be finding a new boba spot. To the manager, please inform your employees about making the customer happy. I paid extra for what I was asking for and still didn't receive it. Losing business over the smallest of things is not worth it. Update to review: management reached out to me with a sincere apology and willingness to make things better by training employees on how to handle these situations. I love tastea and will continue going here as it's near my work, but to me, this location isn't as good as the other locations in SJ. If you stop by during the day, its ok, but I've come a few times after work and had lackluster experiences. Once, my husband ordered a fresh squeezed OJ and was given the saddest cup. It was maybe 1/2 filled a ice cubes and the cup was still only 3/4 full. The workers obviously ran out of oranges to squeeze (we saw the entire scene), decided to add ice cubes hoping to fill up the cup, and still handed it to us after they realized the cup wasn't full. No apology, no attempt to make things right. If I was a first timer at Tastea, I'd be upset, but I've been drinking tastea since they first opened in OC, so I just avoid ordering any "specialty" drink. Not a bad option for their other teas, but avoid the fresh squeezed OJ. read more

Tastea has never done me wrong. The store is always busy and vibrant. I came here and it was packed! The staff is really friendly and helpful. I was told that this location is an express, so it's smaller than most of their other stores. It's pretty cozy, but thankfully there's so much outdoor seating, so no big deal. Peach Me Sweetea is my jam. That's my go too and I always get it half sweet. I love the fresh fruit chunks! I am also really fond of Krypteanite (recommended to matcha lovers) and their Jasmine Milk Tea! Their boba is green, which may surprise some people, and pretty good as well. I was super excited to hear that Tastea had opened in Sunnyvale. I used to always go to the OC location but this Tastea was a HUGE disappointment. I got the strawberry slush -- tasted like strawberry cough syrup. It was just a bad mixture of powder, ice, and small bits of strawberry. The peachme sweetea, which is usually my favorite, was okay but way too sweet and too syrupy. I definitely recommend getting half sugar. The milk tea didn't taste like milk or tea?? I honestly thought it was just sugary water. Maybe it's because the location just opened and the staff isn't fully trained yet but either way I won't be coming back here. I have been to the Tastea in San Jose before and loved it, and having a location closer to me is all the better! I got the jasmine milk tea the past two times I've gone and it is by far one of the best! I am also a fan of their fruit teas. Honestly, I don't think there's a bad item on the menu. Finally a tastea opened close to me! Was so excited to try this out and honestly didn't disappoint. My favorite so far has been the strawberry sensation smoothie, so bomb!! I also really enjoyed the matcha Thai milk tea and the strawberry ecstasy (I think that's what it's called). I was a little bit disappointed in the peach me sweet tea since it's their number one drink. I got it less sweet but maybe it was too little sugar so it didn't taste like much. I will probably give it another chance. Most of the drinks do run on the sweeter side so do keep that in mind. Also can we talk about Green Boba??
