MSG overload! I've sitting here feeling sluggish now because I just had their food. Out of all of OCs dim sum places, this is probably the worst. I came in on a Sunday at 11am to get some food for everyone at home. There were only a few people there. I basically got EVERYTHING. Everything was very bland with not enough flavor. The shu mai, and har gow were both super bland. The steam pork buns and chicken feet were okay. The pork share ribs and tripe were gross. The stuffed bean curds were also pretty disgusting. But the worst is feeling like crap for the many hours after because of all that MSG. My total was $24. All of the items are super super cheap though. They range from $2-$4. The lady working was impatient with me because an older man walked up and wanted to order. I was fast though. I always know what I want. It was annoying because he only ordered one item while I got 8927348. She also let many people pay before me although she was done packing my food awhile ago. It's located in the grocery store. There are places for you to sit and eat. They also have boba here for $2. This place is cash only.

VIBES (2/5) // your typical Chinese fast food joint, with various of sweet and savory options displayed on warming plates, and a variety of dimsum options stacked and placed in tin steamers. // not the most well kept area. they've got a good amount of tables for you to sit down and enjoy the food. they offer sweet soy sauce, sriracha, chili oil, and pepper flakes at the ordering station - just ask for it if you don't see it! // the labels on the windows are difficult to read, and a bit vague. // CASH ONLY SERVICE (2/5) // if you want to order, let them know or else you'll just be standing there. the service is just enough - brief and straight-to-the-point. they're not rude but not friendly and welcoming either. DIMSUM (best to worst) Pork Shumai (4/$1.99) // a little mushier than i would've liked, but still has a slight spring to the bite. flavor is alright - i think it was one of the better options Shrimp Rice Noodles (3/$2.19) // the shrimp was mushy and tasteless, but the noodles were decent! Veggie Meat Dumpling (3/$2.09) // a hockey-puck shaped fried dumpling! also super oil, but decent flavor. Ham Sui Gok (3/$1.99) // deep-fried football shaped dumplings. the outer shell is glutinous and super oily, and the inside is this pork&mushroom filling. flavors were okay, it's just super heavy Fried Hong Kong Style Rice Noodles (small to-go box/$2.09) // like a saute of the rice noodles and onions. oily, boring and tasteless. Shrimp Har Gow (4/$2.19) // the dumpling skin was very mushy and fell apart so soon as i touched it. OVERALL // mediocre and didn't curb my dimsum cravings. i came at 11AM so i know the food probably wasn't as "fresh", but i wanted to try it out. i think i'd rather pay the extra $0.50 per dish at one of the seafood cove/paradise joints for better quality dimsum.

I absolutely hate giving bad reviews but on Friday August 25th, 2017 was my grandmother's 100 day after her passing ceremony. My family decided to order 12 chicken from this place to feed to guests attending the ceremony. The total came up to almost $300 but it was worth it since it's saving us time to cook for the event. They chopped up all the chicken and boxed them nice and neatly for us to take home. My mom tried to open the box to check it and the lady was like no no no! Smiled and said just leave it. We made sure it's all correct and it's a total of 12 chicken so there no need to inspect it. Ok, yeah she's right. It's too neat to just open up the bag to check the box. We grabbed the boxes and drove it all the way to San Bernardino, opened one of the box and seen that it was spoiled! Ok maybe just one is bad so we opened a second one. It was spoiled as well... all 12 boxes was spoiled! This ruined my grandmother 100 day death ceremony. It's such a big disappointment. We are extremely upset that it had to happen to our family. We have the receipts but we of course threw all the chicken away because we didn't want anyone getting sick. I guess we live and learn our lessons. We don't want our money back, we just want them to know that it's wrong for them to sell bad spoiled products. BE AWARE... check your food before leaving the establishment.

This place has always been the go-to dim sum place for my family when we're not in the mood for a full sit-down restaurant. Usually the prices are cheaper and you can get just as good of a meal depending on when you come. The location is within a supermarket, so I like to come here when my mom goes shopping for food because I'm not that interested in shopping... I'd rather be eating. Since this place is to go, there is definitely a prime time and which you should go and time where you should probably go somewhere else. From my experience, usually coming in at 10:30 a.m. Is a good to time to go. The serving sizes are the same as if you were going to another dim sum restaurant, but the price is much cheaper since it's just food to go. I usually get the xiu mai, the baked pork buns, the rice paper with pork and beef, and the fried shrimp and dumplings. All of this stuff is great when they come out fresh, and I highly recommend you getting it at that time. However, I do not want to play this up for anyone because there is only a very small window of opportunity in which you could get such good quality. If you come in at a different time, then you're going to to take the gamble on the quality of your food. Also, there are tables there, but I would recommend you just taking the food to go. This is because they usually do not clean the tables, so it is pretty messy and you can see a lot of plates piled up in the trash can. So the place really is quite messy, however you're in an Vietnamese supermarket, so what more can you expect.

Skip this place and eat somewhere else. My sister loves this place since it's cheap and I'm always forced to go here. It's inside a supermarket and it's extremely dirty. The tables are covered in soy sauce. I've been here three times and every time I come, all the tables are dirty!! The food isn't good. The shumai is just okay. It's $1.79 for 4 pieces but it doesn't really taste good and I would rather pay a little bit more and eat at seafood cove 2. The fried shrimp balls are okay too Everything else on the menu doesn't taste good. I pretty much tried everything and everything just tastes bland or it's too mushy. Also don't come here if you don't speak/understand Vietnamese. It'll be hard to order. It's cash only

The line can get a bit long, but it goes by fairly fast we only waited at most 15 minutes for our order. Love the idea of to-go Dim Sum because we were able to have a picnic at the park with the kids so it was really nice and convenient. The kids enjoyed every bite.

If you're facing the grocery store, the dim sum counter is on the right side of the building. There's additional parking on that side, which made it easy and convenient. The setup is simple and efficient. It's a walk-up window where you place your order, and while you're waiting there's a QR code to view the menu on your phone. They also have a large menu displayed, which was helpful since I wasn't confident pronouncing some of the item names. I was able to easily point to what I wanted. I visited on a weekday morning around 10 AM and only had two people ahead of me. The service was incredibly fast--we were in and out in about 10-15 minutes. Everything looked fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. What really stood out was the customer service. The gentleman taking orders was extremely friendly and patient. While we waited, he even gave my young daughter a complimentary egg tart custard, which was such a thoughtful gesture and completely made her day. I brought home several items for my husband, including some of his favorite dim sum dishes, and he absolutely loved everything. The food was fresh, flavorful, and tasted just as good as many sit-down dim sum restaurants we've visited. Based on the quality, prices, and speed of service, I can imagine this place gets very busy on weekends. Going on a weekday morning was perfect. We'll definitely be back. If you're looking for delicious takeout dim sum without the wait and hassle of a traditional restaurant, this spot is absolutely worth a visit.

The…read moredim sum at Seafood Cove2 is totally overrated and the crowd there made it very stressful so I used to come here, Seafood Paradise for dim sum in a relaxed atmosphere. In December 2023 my sister who lives in HB harbor claimed this resto was too far for her but finally decided to have a big Christmas Birthday party and invited 30, 40 people, the manager was not there and my usual server was not there either so I asked and was shocked at the news although I expected it, the new owner told me he had closed on the purchase that day and would change the name to White palace but he would keep the chef and the manager David but that was not the case. To me the best Chinese restaurants were Furiwa and Seafood Paradise. It was sad they failed to understand that w today economy dominated by social medias and if they do not follow the trend, they would be out of business, I told David the manager but he was so confused about what I was talking about. Bad restaurants that spent money on social medias thrived beyond comprehension. My sister ordered the usual wedding menu, 10 courses w lobster, steamed fish, etc..I knew immediately it was a new chef, the lobster was flavorless, almost every course was bland but many people I know have hay fever and with severe sneezing sometimes they lose their sense of taste on top of being born w less taste buds, it can be a curse to have too many taste buds as I was skinny all my life from not being able to enjoy eating till I started cruising when in the old days, cruise ship chefs were of Michelin caliber. My sister threw another big bash on Chinese/VN new year 2-10-2024, again 10 courses dinner and again everything was bland, there was not even enough salt in the food. I made no comment when asked bc everybody seemed to like it so who was I to say anything and I wanted to support the new owner, the service was great so that was a plus. I came by many times for dim sum and was disappointed the menu was limited, my favorite items were no longer offered. On 1-18-2026 my cousin had a big party, she is the Cai Luong singer and impresario, if my count was correct there were 20 tables, 200 attendants and many performers. Unfortunately for $60 to $75 pp, they could only offered 5 courses as they had to pay the performers. Needless to say, I could only eat the walnut shrimp and fried fish, the fried rice was not at all edible, what were they thinking? no salt, very little egg, I sure did not get fat!. I think 3 stars are generous as I was frustrated w the meal, I had no idea what the lead singer was singing/screaming about so loud in Saigonese! Lol! The dude was a VN version of Liberace!. I was there to keep up w long lost relatives, I sadly found out one had just died and I was not able to find out what happened bc the sound system was not functioning properly, it was blasting so loud, I was almost deaf in both ears! It was impossible to know what all the performers were saying. The manager if you read this please fix it, I have no idea how any wedding can take place w zero sound system unless it just went kaput on that one day. I'll tell my cousin to check on this before booking here again. I can't believe they also bought another restaurant on Edinger, Santa Ana, maybe it's just me but I don't like the all white chairs and table, I worked all my life in hospital and I'm not a fan of all white furniture, The old Seafood paradise had beautiful romantic looking pink flowers, table cloth and beautiful comfortable chairs. I'm glad they seem to be doing great, good for them, I'm not going back here but I plan to go to their 2nd resto. Unfortunately HB and Little Saigon do not have very good Chinese restaurants, I miss Hong Kong and all the 5 stars hotel ayce buffets in, I'm looking forward to my VN trip w all the good food unfortunately Yelp has no presence in VN. My camera always eats first, I have about 10,000 pictures of food in my IPhone from all my cruises and trips around the world, I enjoy looking and relive all my culinary experience. There wasn't anyone eating there when we went on a weekday morning so service was super quick! It's a huge space though so I'm sure it gets more rowdy on the weekends. We tried the classic dim sum dishes. The shumai was a bit dry for me but was still overall pretty good. The rice rolls with shrimp had a very good sauce and it was super addicting! The only one that disappointed us were the soup dumplings, which fell apart because they stuck to the bottom. Also there just wasn't very much soup in them to begin with. Both of our favs were the baby ribs, which were so soft and flavorful. The fried shrimp balls were also good and were made to order so they were super crispy and fresh! I really liked the chili oil here because it actually had a kick. For dessert, we ended off with their egg tarts that were crispy, sweet, and delicious!! I like the new update and the modern look of the restaurant but I feel that it's taking away. It's warmth. It feels a little more clinic-y if that makes sense. I'll probably update again if anything changes or if a family member is dying to go here. I just get really upset thinking about how I have two aunts in my last example that we've gone ands server. Who's been there for ages treats you different based on I guess your tipping and to me that's a put off. He is also very crass, and his jokes are kind of gross. The owner does try and go around. But the last time I've gone, she kinda just sat there. My last experience while in the restaurant was that there were maybe four or five tables of people about 2 to 4 in each table. And this was after dim sum time so there are no carts going around. And even though their staff was pretty full service was so slow. The food was kind of extra greasy and it gave a lot of us. Bad stomach aches. I still debate how bad I want dim sum when I have to go here. But at least their dim sum is still great! I really hope that the place does turn around because when I drive by I see how empty it's gotten and it makes me sad that my favorite place is not doing as well. Cross fingers!
