A friend at work told me about this place. IT'S AMAZING!! Freshly roasted meats daily. Crispy Pork Belly, Roasted Duck, Various kinds of Chicken and Cha Siu Pork to name a few. The open at 9 a.m. so, you know they are cooking everything VERY early in the morning. FRESH DAILY. My favorite here is the 2-3 item combo meals. With my favorite item being the Turnip Cake with Egg. They also have various vegetables, green beans, Chinese broccoli, Bok Choi, etc. on a daily basis but rotate the type of greens, depending on the day. The 2 item combo "means" you get to choose TWO MEAT varieties. The combo includes white or fried rice or noodles and a scoop of one of the green vegetables. THE PORTION SIZES are substantial and you can walk out with a 2 item combo for $12 and a 3 item for only $1 more, $13. They have additional DELICIOUS "side" dishes which I'm not exactly how you can incorporate them into your combo meals, but you definitely can order them separate. Today, I got half and half Turnip cake and Chow Fun, asked for green beans and Crispy Pork Belly and he just charged me accordingly, $16.... which is two meals for me. For $6, you get a medium large box filled with veggies enough for a meal or two if you pair with other dishes. The veggies are always fresh and mildly seasoned, so it's great if you're watching your salt intake. I also love that they sell honeycomb tripe! This is the best Cantonese barbecue shop in Little Saigon. Service is friendly, but Cantonese style so know what you want and get to the point but they actually are nice parking can be kind of crazy sometimes but they open at nine and put out the best ducks and cuts of roast pork then燒腩好食）. If you're looking for really good value, order their fried rice noodle(炒河粉). There is no meat inside it, but it can accompany your roast meat that you buy really well and is really cheap. read more

There are so many BBQ restaurants where should you go to? it depends on your situation, most if not everybody I know said Lien Hoa, in Little Saigon, they are the oldest one in Westminster but they are not for me. The taste of the BBQ duck was good but the duck was 100% not cooked long enough, it was chewy, as I said in my other reviews I do not have scissors teeth or even Fred Flinstone teeth!! so FUGGEDABOUDIT, end of story. I have come here since their grand opening, they used to be called DUONG SON located in the same mall 1 block away where my Doctor brother had his medical office so we used to dine there often. They used to have a full Chinese amazing food restaurant attached to the BBQ restaurant. They moved to this location years ago and morphed into NEW DUONG SON restaurant. They no longer have a restaurant but they had a fast food counter selling Chowfun, sauteed green beans, fried dough, etc.. I particularly love the pickles they sold, kim chee, I love their cabbage marinated in vinegar, excellent taste to go w the duck. A customer came to pick up a full roasted pig, heo quay, OMYGAWD, huge pig, it must be for a big party, I was told it was $200, enough to feed a village ! Their duck was always juicy and tender, you wont need to go to a dentist to repair damage from eating WALKING DUCKS! Came here for roast pork, duck and char siu, since again Maui no more. It's cash only, and love that they cut the box to allow steak out and not make everything soggy. We purchased by the pound, and noticed the guy behind us got the food with rice, love they provide a quick lunch and will try that next time. This place is the #1 spot for this type of food. And prices are so cheap. These guys know their asian bbq cuisine. I've tried the rest, and it's no comparison! They take cash only. Very small shop located on 1st floor to the very left of the middle stairs if you're facing east. Their best seller is the bbq pork ribs that ALWAYS sell out after lunch. Was wandering through this area to the supermarket that was near by. Decided to stroll through the small shops along side this plaza. The door was open and I could smell BBQ food and see roast pork and duck hanging by the window. Yep! When hunger strikes you enter! Parking in this plaza is brutal. You would have to either follow people or circle around a few times. Eventually you will find a parking spot. It's a very busy shopping center on the weekends. When you go inside there is a menu up above. You can choose combo items and each includes a side of rice or noodles with some protein of your choice. The staff here are pretty friendly. They speak Chinese/Vietnamese and some English. If all else fails you can always point to the item that you want. If you choose a roast pork, chicken, or duck, they will chop it in smaller pieces for you. Even if you come late in the day like around 3, the combo meals are still available. If you are in this neighbor or finished shopping in the market and is hungry, worth checking this place out. It's a really neat place to grab a plate of food to go and it's very filling too! I've heard of great things about this BBQ spot so I had to come check it out for lunch. It's in a super crowded plaza where parking is HELL. I was in the lot for more than 30 minutes trying fight other people also looking for a parking spot. The restaurant is small and unassuming, but it is definitely a hole in the wall gem. They cut both meats fresh in front of me and service is extremely friendly. I got the rice meal with two meats, vit quay and heo quay (roasted duck and roasted pork). They also included veggies with mushrooms and veggie soup. The serving was HUGE, definitely enough for two meals for me, and it was less than $10!!! They add generous amounts of meat. There were huge chunks of juicy duck and crispy pork. Super flavorful, so good. This is definitely my new go-to BBQ spot. This place was highly recommended to satisfy my cravings for roast duck. And they hit it on the money. I have been craving roast duck for, I don't know how long. I usually get it at sea empress in Gardena because their dishes are prepared well. But if you don't purchase it during dim sum hour, the prices are pretty high. And the same goes for other Chinese restaurants who actually serve roast duck. One place charges $50 something for a whole duck and $30 something for 1/2. Which to me is ridiculous. So anyways, one day I was complaining to my friend about not being able to get my duck and he was like, "oh I go to this place and they're really good. And not so expensive." It's a little bit of a drive for me but it was ok. I like the drive. From Gardena to Westminster is about 30 min. I left the house around 2 and hit minimal traffic. It was a nice drive. The place is located in the Asian village across from the Asian garden mall. It's a small shop. No tables. It's pick up only establishment. Aside from roast duck, they also have roast chicken and other hot food. So how much? For a whole duck, it's $31.95 plus tax which roughly comes out to be $33.35 and a 1/2 duck is $17 plus tax, cash only. I opted for the whole. It came with 2 portions of dipping sauce. I probably should have asked for more. Cause, come on, really? 2 portions cups full of sauce for one whole duck? Now the taste.. it was good. Not too salty but enough to make me go "mmmm" out loud in a high pitch tone. Lol but... it would have been nice if it was a little hotter and the skin were a little crispier. But I should have gone a earlier for that. All and all, satisfied my craving. Cravings I had for months. I was so close to making it myself, which I was dreading because it was tedious and time consuming. My little nephew liked it as well. Both he and I finished the whole thing within 2 days. If you're in the mood for this style of Chinese/Vietnamese BBQ, there is no shortage of it within a few miles. I would say that this place is a pretty good option if you're looking for a new place to try. I've never heard of it until now but I'm glad I have. I ordered a two item rice combo with heo quay aka crispy roasted pork and vit quay aka roasted duck. It came with a side of vegetables which is nice as a full meal. Both the meats were solid choices. The pork wasn't too fatty like other places, it was well seasoned, and it had a thin layer of crispy skin. The duck was meaty, tender, moist, and well seasoned. My only critique would be that I wish the skin on the pork was crispier or crunchier. The crisp was there but very subtle. I like more contrast between the crunch and the tender meat. I was able to order easily and I paid for my meal. Since it's cash only, I only had a $50 bill on me. The plate cost $9 but after I left, I realized that I only got $31 back. A part of me felt like this happened because they thought they could get away with it. Let's just say it was a very nice tip because it wasn't worth walking all the way back for. I knew the language barrier would have made it difficult to explain what happened. I was so close to giving this place all 5 stars but this and the parking issue are both factors that have prevented me in doing so. Parking here is atrocious and always is which is no fault of the business but it can be a problem. There are a couple loading and unloading spots right in front of the restaurant but they most likely won't be available during peak hours. The restaurant was hard to locate at first since there are so many businesses, but it's on the lower level on the right from the point of view of the parking lot entrance. In the time of COVID, my mom introduced me to this deli because she thinks 1) they sell the best doong (aka zongzi and other names) and 2) roasted pigs feet to make the best jook. While I'm in a agreement with my mom on the doong, I think I make a better jook with a turkey carcass. However, the roasted pigs feet did make a good jook in the pressure cooker. Additionally, the jook is easier to "clean" with the pigs feet because there are no small bones to contend with. While my mom was purchasing the doong, I didn't go inside the very small shop because I wanted to social distance; thus, I didn't know they sold roasted pork and Peking Duck. If you're in the area or the plaza, this would be a great place for you to get either a lunch box, whole pig, or whole duck. I've gotten all of those and it does not disappoint. Just beware of the parking, which has been notoriously known to be terrible. The location itself is on the bottom floor right next to the elevator/stairs. Wait times vary, as sometimes you'll see lines out the door and other times there would be no lines. Either way, it is very quick service. My parents used to buy duck from this place many years ago but somehow started going to Lien Hua instead. Well my husband found this place again on Yelp and asked that I go pick up some roast duck. I got a whole roast duck, 1 lb of spicy pig ear and half lb of chicken feet. The duck was good! Husband thinks it tastes better than Lien Hua. Pig ear is decent too. Not a fan of their chicken feet flavor though, has hints of curry. It's more yellow in color than the red color I'm used to at dim sum restaurants.
