It's been quite a few years since I've been back to this restaurant. It's been here since the 80's that I recalled. I came here for weddings many times. It's a very nice restaurant and the Cantonese style food is always excellent in every way. Last few weeks coming here with some friends and we ordered some excellent dishes and the taste was as delicious as before. The prices are extremely reasonable. The wor wonton soup that I like with plenty of shrimps and tasty wontons, excellent meal starter. The salt and pepper prawns are crunchy that we could chew the shells. The garlic vegetable is very tasty which everyone like. Kun-pow chicken, stir fried clams, mongolian beef, shredded port in garlic sauce all perfectly seasoned and cooked. The service here is very attentive and pleasant. We had a great meal together and everyone was happy and full, we had some to take home too. This is called the classic Cantonese Restaurant for me, always consistent with quality and tastes. Glad that we came here. read more

I love an old school dim sum place and this checks all the boxes. The decor looks like you stepped into a wedding banquet-- white curtains with fancy chandeliers. The people still come around with carts and stamp your ticket when you get a dish. The energy is high with people coming almost immediately to put things on your table. You really have to be assertive...and you can ask them to show you the dishes before you agree. It is loud ..so plan on shouting and repeating yourself if you plan to have any kind of conversations. My go-to dim sum spot for years! I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's always so good. The staff is mostly older aunties and uncles and they are always so sweet and helpful. The siu mai, fried tofu, and xa xiu cheung fun are solid every time. If you grab an item off the cart and it's not hot enough, they will always either warm it for you or will order a fresh new one. Browsing the area for a dimsum place with no wait times around 1:30PM on a Sunday. I'm glad we ended up here. I've only ever ordered shumai to go from here but it was nice to finally dine in. This restaurant shares the parking lot with a lot of businesses including Stater Bros. Parking can get a little tricky during peak hours. We still caught the tail end of Lunar NY decorations so it was festive in there. Our party if 5 got seated right away. Luckily they serve dimsum (in carts) until 3PM. New dimsum favorite is their pork and shrimp roll - shaped like an eggroll. We got about 12 items and steamed rice for the table. My parents said their shumai is one of the best they've had. Shrimp hargow and other dumplings were good. The fried chicken was delish, especially the bed of pickled veggies underneath. The chicken feet is tender and flavorful. The honey walnut shrimp was great. The custard buns were delicious even the day after. The servers were so nice. So many of them taking turns asking what else we needed. Don't forget to ask for their hot mustard and some red vinegar. Nothing fancy about this place but it's a great bang for your buck. Enjoyed our meal here. read more

COCKROACH COCKROACH COCKROACH TLDR: - COCKROACH & FLY -- management did not care - horrible service from management - servers are kind About 20 minutes into eating, we noticed a cockroach submerged in the soy sauce jar. We instantly notified a worker, and she simply switched the soy sauce jar. They completely dismissed the health violation. Please keep in mind, we all used the soy sauce. If one soy sauce jar has a cockroach, the entire batch of soy sauce is contaminated. There's no way a cockroach that big could squeeze into that jar, so it was most likely from the larger batch of soy sauce that was poured into each jar. We later looked back at a picture taken at the beginning of the meal and noticed the cockroach at the top of the bottle. We complained to someone from management, and they brushed off the cockroach issue. We do not know how many people consumed cockroach-infused soy sauce, but the soy sauce was running low by the time we used it. They didn't offer any sort of reimbursement until we continued to explain the severity of the situation. To make matters worse, our water also had a fly in it. At the end of our meal, I asked to speak to the manager because a 10% comp does not nearly make up for everyone in my party consuming cockroach-infused soy sauce. The manager was extremely dismissive and rude. He said my family ordered a lot of food and that he didn't know about the cockroach. That is exactly the issue. We ordered a lot of food before noticing the cockroach and fly. We used a large amount of soy sauce and had to throw out everything on our plates once we found the cockroach. He asked me what I wanted him to do, which again was extremely unprofessional. He said 10% off and walked away. We all lost our appetite, but it was my grandma's birthday, and we wanted to celebrate her. We tried to make the most out of a horrible situation, but the lack of accountability for a serious health concern is something we cannot look past. read more

Treated my friend for his birthday on Sunday late morning and we were seated right away. I was craving for the fried calamari but was disappointed with it. They were cut into strips and very chewy. I wouldn't recommend it. Their fried thin noodles were delicious. It had a smoked sesame flavor. The shumai, hargow and egg rolls were ordinary. The Chinese broccoli leaves was overcooked but the stalks were just right. My friend really enjoyed the chicken feet which he said was very tender. He also liked the liver. The sweet white rice cake was a good palate cleanser. We had a total of 8 dishes and the bill amounted to $120 with taxes and tip. There was plenty of leftover. Lots of majority known authentic dim sum were available and more. Service was fast and associates were friendly. It's a typical dim sum place. The quality is not as good as Seafood Cove II or some other dim sum places but possibly a little bit cheaper. We came on a Friday at lunch and it wasn't too busy, so we were served pretty quickly. One of the spoons was visibly dirty but not too unexpected for a dim sum place. First timer here, we came with family on Sunday morning. We were seated pretty quickly. I was a bit worried, considering some of the most recent reviews at this establishment. I thoroughly enjoyed the freshness of the food how quickly it came out and the variety. My only regret is that I did not take any pictures, as fast as the food was served, it went into our bellies lol. Overall 9/10 took a star off for us having to waive the server a few times. hairs, stains, and smelly are my biggest take aways from our recent visit. TBH - We only came here because seafood cove 2 had a two hour wait and we were hangry. Parking is ample due to the big lot, but it still gets pretty busy. We were seated immediately upon entering. However, once seated we found hairs on two plates and stain dirty tea cups. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, We asked for new dishware and proceed to order. The chicken feet had an off putting smell and color was really dark. Something seemed off, but we will circle back to this. My parents order the tripe dish and with it came with extra protein.. in the form of strands of hair. At this point - we were done, but food was order so tried to power through with it. A choice we will soon regret. Following this horrible breakfast was runs to the toilet. Mind you my dad has a stomach made of steel. He can and has eaten anything and even he was nauseous and running to the toilet for his life. safe to say, we will never be back. I'll wait hours if it means clean, fresh, good food. It's been a good while since we've visited this local favorite for dim sum in Westminster. Seafood Paradise definitely gave the dining room a nice facelift and the place looks much brighter with the light tiles and new lighting. I have to admit, I do miss the burgundy carpeting... it just gave it that classic look. As for the selections, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the fried tofu any more and the shiny char-siu bao's didn't seem as moist and airy as before. This is an old school dim sum. I ate here alone this time but, came here ten years ago with all the librarians from fountain valley library and my mom. It was so cheap back then I fed them all for $85.00. Today's prices are pretty standard. The food is delicious and reminds me of some food from Hawaii at my grandmas house. Service is really awesome they serve from carts and are ready to serve the moment you sit down. The look is a little outdated but people who know food know that the outside doesn't necessarily match the inside (food) experience. I'll be brining friends and family back here again. read more

Okay wow! I really forgot how good this place was. I wouldn't normally recommend any yumcha/dim sum from Orange County, but the OC has stepped its game up just a tiny, tiny smidge. It was pretty palatable here and the service was particular awesome. A good amount of workers here speak English so that alone is pretty sweet if you don't speak Chinese or Vietnamese too well and that makes you get nervous coming to certain restaurants. I ordered the basics and the siu mai was tasting pretty fresh. Soft, meaty, with big pieces of shrimp inside. My least favorite item was the banh cuon (rice rolls). First time for my youngest 33rd bday..He had picked it, even without ever going himself, but he did a great job.. The restaurant on a Saturday at 12:30 was very busy but plenty of seating available.. As soon as we sat down, tea was on the table & the Dim Sum carts started rolling up to our table.. The service fast, plentiful & many choices.. The food, all very good to delicious.. The inside of the restaurant, very clean, as were the restrooms.. Overall value, money well spent, didn't break the bank.. The only negative I found was, the tea they first put on your table, you are charged for it, no a big deal, $3.00..The real issue, no one tells you.. I have an old expression..I don't have to like the rules, but I do need to know what they are.. All n all a sold 4.5 stars.. You'll not be disappointed.. read more

I have rated this Chinese restaurant many times and I was never disappointed. This review is only on the food, not the Dim sum part and not on the night club either even though I'll mention it. 1) This restaurant is the only one besides the Furiwa that went out of business, that has fried noodle (chow mein not lo mein) they really fry the noodle, it was crispy and flavorful, other restaurants really cut corners and put some seafood cooked in brown sauce thrown over noodles that were from a can out of a factory, an absolute joke. I had combination chow mein cooked to perfection w shirimp, chicken and beef. 2) Their fried chicken wings were so delicious, you can order w salt and pepper, ginger or butter, I chose butter which is the same special sauce on lobster, it was saucy, finger licking good, enjoy this w rice, a perfect meal, a very generous portion. 3) I had on other occasion Peking pork chops, delicious too 4) Their lobster is always about $1 cheaper per lb than Capital seafood across the street. The Dim sum was a disaster but I'm willing to give them another chance to see if I can raise it to 4 stars. They also have a nice stage but no Big HD screen for projection of slide show. Week ends they have a live band, it becomes a night club and most Vietnamese love dancing, not us, we both have 2 left feet! LOL! In the old days, this was the 1st Chinese restaurant in Little Saigon, there usually was a 40 minutes wait for a table. I recommend my sister to have her next bash here, it's a very relaxing atmosphere, nice ambiance, nice live band playing French oldies that the VN love, what else can she ask for but if she prefers lunch there won't be a band, that's not saying she can't pay for one to entertain the guests, she can afford it. Bustling dim sum restaurant on the weekends. There's usually a wait for large groups of 6 or more. There were only 4 of us so we were seated right away. I love dim sum places where they still push the carts around. The ladies were all very helpful. If we tell them what we are looking for and they don't have it in their cart, they will go hunt it down for us too. Service is quick. We were seated and immediately someone came over to ask us what tea we would like. Carts are moving up and down the aisles and everyone seems happy working there. Saturday morning and family wanted dim sum. My friend and Yelp search recommended Seafood Paradise Restaurant. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday and restaurant was approximately 1/3 full. I was hesitant about the lack of patrons but it's past breakfast and lunch time so I sat down. A lot of Asian aunties with their metal carts of dim sum swarmed our table. I enjoyed the variety of dim sum options from the rolling metal carts. The regular menu is also available but we ordered approximately 15 different dim sum items so we didn't order off the menu. 1 star removed bc the restaurant charged $3 for hot tea. We tried many dishes, and overall I'd say I'm impressed. While not every dish was perfect, the overall experience left me feeling like I'd be happy to come back. Dishes: Kung Pao Chicken - Lots of chicken, but it was missing a flavorful punch. Clam with Basil - Delicious. The clams weren't rubbery and had a great basil flavor. House Special Fish Fillet - Delicious. My favorite item. The fish was fried to perfection and coated in a buttery black pepper sauce. Chow Mein Beef - A complete miss. Didn't have much flavor. Fried Tofu - It was okay. The tofu wasn't crispy enough and had a weird aftertaste with the sauce. Mongolian Beef - Delicious. The beef was super tender, and there was plenty of it along with onions. Fried Whole Fish - Delicious. The fish was perfectly fried and crispy. Spinach Sautéed with Garlic - Okay, but too much oil. Chow Mein Deep-Fried Hong Kong Style with Beef - The noodles were super crispy, but the sauce lacked umami. Canh Xua - This hit the spot. One of the more flavorful Canh Xua I've had at a restaurant. Choices for a Monday limited offerings. Compare to SVG, SVG got nothing to worry. I had their Baked BBQ Pork Bao. Lacking taste, filling was not distributed evenly. Sui Mai was good mostly pork filled, Sticky Rice Wrap fair size , at $9.28 for 2 wraps. Very outdated dining room cover in yellowish color drapes, low ceiling that needs to good cleaning. Tables needs to be resurfaced. The stage has lighting equipment to ready for events. Tacky plastic flower line onside of the room. They are chinese Vietnamese need to be patient when it comes to communication. Good for large dinning events, such wedding, birthdays and special occasions. Not for romantic date. We've been coming here for more than 20 years. They upgraded the inside look and it's a little less crowded. There is always a wait on the weekends so be prepared that you may wait 20 minutes. It goes by fast though. Parking may be difficult so find street parking instead of inside the plaza. Plus it's easier to just get out. It's a major busy street so be careful. The food is all fresh. Dim sum is good, the only thing I didn't like too much was their porridge. Other places the egg is put on top, but here they cut the eggs and it's mixed into it. I guess it's good because you get more egg, but I prefer to have more of the porridge taste. Their usual dim sum orders are all good, but their snow pea are the big leaf kind, or the tiny sprout kind. So that's another different thing. The BBQ Bao, Shrimp Rice Noodle (always a favorite), Shomai, Pork Ribs, Shrimp Egg Roll, Sticky Rice, Futbol (sticky dough with meat inside), Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Puto are always good. Haven't been back here in years. Used to be a happening place back in the 90s for dim sum and we would always look forward to coming here on Sunday morning with Family. The inside was surprisingly clean, white color, drapes and walls and the service was terrific. Everyone was very attentive with the dim sum cart. We tried Paradise Seafood in Westminster and honestly walked away disappointed. I ordered the shaking beef (bo luc lac) and the Yang Chou fried rice. If you're American and just want something that tastes "Asian-inspired," you might enjoy it, but as an ABC (American Born Chinese), I felt both dishes missed the mark on authenticity. The shaking beef is supposed to be made with filet mignon, but I don't think that's what I got. It seemed like a cheaper cut of meat that was tenderized with baking soda. Instead of having the natural bite and texture of real steak, the beef was soft to the point of being mushy almost no chew at all. For a dish that's meant to highlight good quality beef, this was a letdown. The Yang Chou fried rice was average at best. Flavor was flat, and it didn't have that wok hei (the smoky "breath of the wok" you get from a properly cooked fried rice). Ingredients were there, but nothing really stood out, and it tasted more like something you'd get from a takeout spot than a restaurant that's supposed to specialize in seafood and Chinese/Vietnamese dishes. Service was fine and the restaurant is clean, but food quality and authenticity just aren't there. If you're looking for real Vietnamese or Chinese flavors, there are plenty of better options in Westminster. read more

My review is based upon dining for a wedding ceremony for my family. They turned the restaurant into a banquet style venue, and it was nicely decorated where they made use of the stage for the ceremony. There were waiters everywhere and they served us ice in metal bowls which I thought was quite strange, but they did refill it often when we ran out. Our dinner was served course by course and was meant to be shared family style. I wasn't too thrilled with some of the choices as I didn't enjoy the first appetizer of seaweed salad and assorted squid and clams. Next, we got their crab egg drop soup which was admittedly bland. For fried dishes we received fried shrimp balls, deep fried taro, fried salt and pepper fish, quail, and fried rice. A lot of the food was quite heavy, but the fried items were tasty. For seafood items, the salt and pepper lobster were delicious, and my family devoured this! We also ate abalone and stir-fried vegetables, however, some of the mushrooms in the dish didn't taste quite fresh. Overall, the establishment was clean, and service is a bit spotty given it is a traditional Chinese restaurant. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. I knew the manager some of the waiters there..I've eaten there several times.. It Made it easy for me to get a table.My lady and I ate there on many occasions.. Casual eating, family gatherings and birthdays. We've had breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is always delicious and authentic. The service is sometimes takes a little longer. Especially when it's a full restaurant. But I wave waitress and waiters down.
