We shared: 1. Chả Cá Thăng Long - Dill Turmeric Fish on a Sizzling Platter (incl. vermicelli, vegetables, peanuts & sesame crackers, shrimp or fish sauce) 2. Chảo Đặc Biệt Quảng Đông - House Special Porridge w/ shrimp, squid, chicken, fish 3. Bún Chả Hànội - Hanoi Style Grilled Pork with Vermicelli & Vegetables I've never had Viet-Canto style porridge before and it was flavorful and comforting. Dill turmeric fish was perfectly cooked. Grilled pork was dry unfortunately. Good portions of vermicelli and fresh veggies. No issues with service. Ambience was unassuming and fine.

DELICIOUS! The best congee I have ever had. We called in a pickup order and it was ready super fast. We got a pork/preserved egg congee with a Chinese donut and my husband got a chow fun. Both were delicious but the congee was the standout star. Something so simple had so much flavor. I highly recommend it. Place is cash only. Very small with not a lot of seating but the plaza has a lot of parking.

Absolutely incredible meal! The dill fish was hands down the best I've ever had! It was perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh veggies , and just enough flavor. The fish porridge was also outstanding: comforting, sweet, rich, and delicious. Every dish tasted like it was made with care, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. Kind and welcoming service too.

This restaurant lived up to the hype! It was so delicious and I was famished from driving up from San Diego. Loved the white fish porridge/congee, the bun cha, and cha ca la von. Customer service was amazing, fast and friendly and the cashier recommended I try a few different items next time I am around this area.

I was craving chao so my friend took me here and it did not disappoint. The chao was perfect and not too salty and they serve it to you in this giant wooden pail LOL. My friend told me the star of the show is the sizzling fish so I'm gonna have to come back for that but the chao hit the spot for me !!! And the salted plum soda IS MA FAVVVV. I will ALWAYS get it if they have it. My friend got the beef egg noodles and it was delicious as well. There's also this Chinese donut thing that you dip in the chao. Fire. Food came out super fast and chao hit the spot so good I got food coma and knocked out. Will def be back to try more dishes.

Hours: Monday - Sunday 9:30 AM - 9:00 PM Ngôn lam ! Em thít lắm. Nhiều Cho dau xe (stater brother) parking lot. Interesting cháo spot. I went with my mom and tried their porridge ( Chao). $13.99 The texture was thick and hearty, which I learned is more of a traditional Cantonese-style consistency. I appreciated that authentic thickness. Flavor wise, the base porridge was a bit mild for me and could've used more depth. (hồi lac trước siêu nhưng mà không sao, minh là người viết nắm mà, THÍM NƯỚC MAM. Their $27.99 cháo cá Thái Long, though, was very good. The fish was fresh and tender, and the dipping sauce was perfectly balanced . That sauce really elevated the whole dish. It's a cozy Vietnamese and Cantonese fusion spot with plenty of parking located to the left side of the Stater Bros parking lot.

We have been coming here for years and it has maintained the flavors and quality of the menu all this time. If you feel like Chả Cá Thăng Long (Fish with Turmeric & Dill), you must try it here. It is grilled on a hot cast iron plate and stays hot the whole time during your meal. Seasoned with turmeric and other secret ingredients, the fish is grilled with onions on this hot plate, then garnished with fresh dill. The fish is served alongside fresh green leaf lettuce, perilla, peppermint herbs; rice noodles, peanuts, toasted sesame cracker; and the sauce of choice for us is nuoc mam (fish sauce). The default sauce is mam tom (a fermented shrimp paste sauce) Ask for the pickled jalapeños, for you chili fans. You can eat this by wrapping some herbs, fish, and noodle in a lettuce leaf and dipping in the fish sauce. Or just pile a little of everything in a bowl and eat bite full at a time. There are many other items on the menu, but another popular dish is rice porridge - really good for when you're feeling under the weather. Plenty of parking. Look all ways and be careful. Service is polite and fairly quick. Enjoy!

Been seeing good reviews of this place so decided to give it a try. There's not many places you get Cantonese style food with a flair of Vietnamese. They're known for their congee, so I would definitely get at least one congee to try when you come. I got their 2 recommended house dishes, fish congee and their dill sizzling fish platter. The congee had a great flavor with just the right amount of ginger and plenty of fish pieces. The dill fish sizzling was also good, not overpowering from the dill. The fish was nice and soft and cooked well! The food came out pretty quickly too, and the staff were friendly and helped explain the dishes. The only thing is they are cash only, which I didn't expect. Luckily they also had a QR code at the front where you can pay via Zelle.

CASH ONLY OR ZELLE. aside from that, everything is great! The chao ca (fish porridge is delicious!) I had to add the Chinese donut and the thousand year old egg, makes the entire meal complete and reminded me of grandpa. Seasoned to perfection. Got the Hanoi meat noodle dish too. Flavor is good. Simple place but was super crowded. Service is good and pleasant. I would come back on another cold day.

One of our favorite places although we do not come often enough. The shrimp on sugar cane was delicious and the porridge is always a good choice... Friendly staff. Efficient service in a clean bright space.

**CASH ONLY** Was in the mood for porridge so decided to finally check out this place. It wasn't busy when we arrived. The menu is extensive and I'll have to come back to try other dishes. I ordered the fish porridge with an order of Chinese donuts. The porridge hit the spot with the sliced ginger. The donuts were crispy and were so good w the porridge.

When the weather outside is frightful...ok, maybe just a tad colder for Cali...delicious comfort food is key. Canton has those super flavorful dishes you are looking for on a chilly-ish Saturday night. Good service too. Cash only.

I've come here a few times for the congee, and it's delicious! It's one of my go-to comfort meals for the day after a night out or whenever I'm feeling under the weather. I typically order the chicken congee and add a century egg. I also like the added green onion and ginger. It gives an extra crunch and provides a fresh, aromatic kick. The congee itself is also thick, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. I've also tried their wonton noodle soup, which was decent, but nothing special. I'd definitely stick with the congee moving forward. My food always comes out quickly, and even though the space inside is small, I've never had to wait long for a table. One important tip: it's cash only, so make sure to bring some with you! Overall, this spot never disappoints when I'm craving something simple, hearty, and comforting.

The beef with the scallion pancakes was sooo tender. The cucumber salad was extra refreshing with the perfect balance of savory and tangy. You also can't ever go wrong with spicy wontons, pan fried buns, popcorn chickens, or braised green beans. Yum! Huge bonus: the restaurant is directly connected to Ben Gong's Tea. Mine and my bf's go to are the dry fried green beans, mapo tofu, Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, and Yang Chow fried rice. These are more than enough for two people and we always have leftovers to take home. The mapo tofu pairs soooo well with the fried rice and my bf loves the chicken. Green beans are flavorful and crispy as well! Hot and sour soup is HUGE. They aren't consistent in making this because some days it's the perfect balance of tangy and spicy flavor, but other times its tooooo sour. The restaurant is very spacious. I love that you can just order via QR (on your phone).

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our family joked around and would say let's go to the travel agency restaurant when we had a craving for Chinese/Vietnamese type of food. I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

Have been to this restaurant many times, and food is always consistent! Came visit to the restaurant last week, and ordered my favorite Grilled Escargot with Garlic Butter and Peppercorn, Grilled Scallops with Cheese, and my all-time favorite Chilean Sea Bass hot pot! The grilled escargots are a must-have when visiting this place! These are perfectly grilled with rich garlic butter for sweetness, and with a slight kick of spiciness from the peppercorn. Don't forget to also dip the escargot meat with black pepper and a few squeeze of fresh lime juice! If you like melted cheese, then the grilled scallops with cheese would be the perfect match. Each scallop is covered melted cheese and comes sizzling on a hot plate when ordered! Last but certainly not least, my favorite dish of this restaurant is the Chilean Sea Bass hot pot. The order comes with your own tabletop gas stove, along with a hot pot filled with a tom yum like sour soup base. For ingredients, it also includes a plate with slices of pineapple, quarter cut fresh tomato slices, fresh bean sprouts, rice noodles, and a full plate of large pieces of Chilean Sea Bass.
