Delicious traditional Chinese/Vietnamese food 15 mins away from Disneyland. I got tired of eating the burgers/fries/pizza during my trip to SoCal recently and really missed some good Asian food. We found Canton restaurant on Yelp, and it was only about 15 mins away over by Westminster. We drove to the strip mall, filled with other eateries, bakeries and etc. I am not a local and don't really don't the safety around so I don't think I would venture out here at night. The default sauce is mam tom (a fermented shrimp paste sauce) Ask for the pickled jalapeños, for you chili fans. They're known for their congee, so I would definitely get at least one congee to try when you come. I got their 2 recommended house dishes, fish congee and their dill sizzling fish platter. The congee had a great flavor with just the right amount of ginger and plenty of fish pieces. The dill fish sizzling was also good, not overpowering from the dill. Usually when I get this in other places, it's fresh (made that day) but cold and stale. But this place made it really fresh and it was hot too. The Chinese donut combined with the texture and flavor of the congee was literal perfection. It reminded me so much of home and made me so happy. There isn't anything I would change about it. The beef chow fun was also pretty solid as well. The noodles weren't overly greasy and the flavor of the beef was exactly how it should be.
