I've been here before many times and most have been good experiences except for today 7/6/25. Waitress was slow but nice. Ordered a skillet and it was 95% all hash browns. Waited a good 20 minutes, still didn't see her so being hungry I decided just eat it and call it a day. Waitress comes over 40 minutes later asks how it was and I politely said its been better its mostly hash browns. She said ill get you another skillet. I said no its OK im good. Anyway she brings a new one and says you can put this in a box and take home which I thought was nice and said thank you. Just a couple minutes later she said Mgr said you'd have to pay for second skillet or I have to take it away! Thought ok, just take it no big deal. I had my fork in my one hand took a quick drink a Latino kid with hat who works there came up from behind where I was sitting grabbed my original order and said "done"! No, I'm not done put it down. Now I'm pissed. I couldn't believe what just happened within a matter of minutes. Wife told mgr. Who was nice but really didn't care,she took 2 dollars off for the 5 meats supposed to be in skillet that were missing. I walked out. I guess you'll have to try it on your own. Im done with them. Most of work staff is new and just not what it used to be. If you read other reviews they go from 1 to 5 all over the board on this place. That's why I say its now become a hit or miss. When the table cleaner dressed in all black came up as stated before it startled me. In today's crazy world you never know what can come and not the best way to approach someone eating a late breakfast. Either way the training has obviously gone way down and prices have gone up. Being in upper management myself, how everything was handled especially by the food "take away method" is not the best way to retain long term frequent customers. That is probably the most notable thing there I've seen. Tables used to be full and this is a big place, now, there is hardly any waits and buisness customers that were there has significantly dropped off in the past few months. Food is still good it now depends on who you get as a server. One additional note, bathrooms were always clean. It seems if you go close to noon and you want to use the bathroom it looks like a food fight with crap went on. Throughly disgusting. read more

I liked it, it's really pretty inside too. I just had a tuna Panini which worked for me. Big portion. My dad thought it looked good and tried it but said it was bland. My dad is hard to pls though. If you are trying to choose between the Southern Cafe or the Tasty Biscuit, choose the Southern Cafe. The Tasty biscuit does not deserve to be part of the same chain. After a fantastic meal at the Southern Cafe my family visited The Tasty Biscuit for my birthday and left with a taste in our mouth worse than the oil that completely saturated the hashbrowns to a point they couldn't be eaten. The other food was ok, not as good as the Southern Cafe, but passable. That was until we put our side of French fries into the togo box and found a long hair under them. Needless to say we didn't take them home, but we did pay for them. In addition to the oily and hairy food, we never received part of the food we ordered, which we were not charged for, but would rather have received and paid for. We were overcharged for the chicken and waffles by $2, when I disputed it (the menu states $13.99 for chicken and waffles) I was told that you have to pay extra for chicken. The managers were rude and apathetic. We will not be returning and instead driving to Roselle and waiting for a quality meal. If you go to the Tasty Biscuit watch your food for hair and your receipts for the correct charges. Lesson learned, read Yelp reviews before dining anywhere. read more

Today was my second visit to Tasty Biscuit in St. Charles. On my first visit I ordered the The Biscuit Omelet (sausage, cheddar cheese, and pieces of biscuit in the omelet, with country gravy over). It was a way to try their gravy and biscuit, and still get a side of pancakes. I also got grits instead of potatoes; they were just plain, cooked grits which allowed me to season them how I wanted (butter, salt, and pepper). This is one of the few restaurants where I've found grits as an option. The omelet was good; an interesting texture with the biscuit chunks in it and I would order it again. Obviously, I enjoyed everything so went back again. Today I had the Country Benny (2 sausage patties on biscuit halves, topped with 2 poached eggs and country gravy) with diced potatoes on the side. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly for me; whites completely cooked and the yolks still a little runny. The country gravy was as close to my homemade sausage gravy (learned from my Mom) as I've ever had in a restaurant. I don't know if they make their sausage in-house, but it was delicious, hand-formed, and as big as a hamburger, though not as thick. The diced potatoes (instead of hash browns, were tender and flavorful. I had regular coffee and that was delicious as well. The staff and management are friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. I think I've found my new Sunday brunch spot. There are many menu options, but it will take me awhile to tire of the Country Benny and start to try other things. read more

The tasty biscuit is an ok breakfast place. You will pay a little more than 10$ a person, and get MASSIVE portions of food. Everything I got today tasted fine, but I found a few pieces of eggshell in my omelet. Not the biggest thing in the world, but not something you want to be happening. I mentioned it to the waitress and her response was essentially "oh, I'm sorry about that....I can bring it up to the people up front but they won't give a discount. Sorry!" I wasn't asking for or expecting a discount, I would have been satisfied with a "heads up kitchen staff, be more careful when breaking eggs." We went there for Morhers Day with it being our first time there. We expected it to be busy, and anticipated a wait. We got there and a woman at the counter didn't even say hello, just looked at me and I said party of 5. She handed me a number and a younger girl gave me an answer when I asked what the wait was which wasn't bad at all. The older lady was screaming numbers and being a bit pushy to some. She was rushing patrons along and didn't seem very friendly as she was doing it. Our number was called and just at that time another server dropped an entire tray of food. I felt terrible for the poor guy, but with that our unfriendly hostess made her way over to the dropped food, then proceeded to the kitchen I presume to get the food re-made. I'm only guessing because she didn't let us know where we were going or what she was disappearing to do. No excuse me for one second, or asking another hostess to seat us so she can fix the dropped food problem. We got to our seat without the kids menu that we needed and was told there was no drink menu, but magically, they found one. We ordered an appetizer of beignets and then about 5-7 minutes after we ordered our food. I asked for French toast instead of pancakes with my skillet and was told no because it was too busy. Kind of disappointing as it really wasn't a special request. We seemed to be waiting a while for the app, and then it finally came out and then our food promptly followed. There was no room for the app, our food, and our drinks on the table. We had to get crafty and stack plates. All the food was good with the exception of my cold hard English muffin. My cinnamon roll latte was tasty, but was served in a to go cup even when I ordered it at the beginning of my visit. Not a huge deal, but odd. They also added gratuity to my bill. I'm not sure if it was because of the day or if this is regular practice. I know that there are some people that don't tip well so I can appreciate it as a server, but would also like to be informed about it, especially if I am not part of a bigger party. I may try this place again, but would go on a day that isn't typically busy, and hopefully when the not so friendly hostess is there. read more

From the outside, and the inside this place looked like the southern café, which is by my house. The menu was more limited, and did not have a nice selection of sandwiches in my opinion. Great waitress, horrible food. Sent omelette back twice for uncooked bacon, all three meals we had were under cooked. Staff was very friendly. I came with my family for breakfast. I ordered the risky biscuit, with the diced potatoes and a side of bacon. I don't recall seeing the breakfast sides in the menu, turns out 3 strips of bacon is over $4. My meal was cold and under cooked. The biscuit and gravy was room temp at best, and the potatoes were very under cooked. Super disappointed. Also the biscuit is just ok, I you are going to name your restaurant tasty biscuit you better have a phenomenal biscuit. I went to Tasty Biscuit on a Sunday for lunch and the wait was only about 10 minutes. We sat down and we were almost immediately greeted by the waitress. How long would we expect him to be here? If I could give this place, a zero stars I would. I ordered a very very French toast combo, and when I received it, there was a hair on my French toast. I immediately told the waitress, and she told me she would Have them make me a new one. I went ahead and let her, and when she brought out the new plate I found the same hair in bedded into the French toast. I showed the staff once again and they told me that they would take that off of the Check and ask if I wanted anything else I went ahead and decided I'd Order a skillet. I didn't even touch it because it took so long to receive it. When I received my check, I saw that they took off the French toast combo, but still charged me for the skillet that I ordered because I kept getting hair in my French toast. I spoke with the owner, and she was extremely rude and tried telling me that I was lying. I explained to her that I showed both of her employees. She still insisted i lied! Insane!!
