10.95 special for Thursday and Friday

Located in the same lot as Lucky's, there's usually plenty of parking. Great hospitality and best of all 10.95 for a bowl of combination pho on Thursdays and Fridays. Portion is pretty decent and is usually enough for me for dinner. Good amount of different kinds of beef. Right now for the veggies and water, it is self serve, which is different but pretty good.

    P3 Pho with ox tail

Interesting two Vietnamese restaurants co exist side by side. Although I have never visit this particular place and each time I had walked by they went closed. So on this day, they were open. As such, I gave them a try. After browsing their vast menu, I narrowed down to their pho with ox tail and other slices of beef, and a jasmine milk tea with boba. I'm always looking for pho with in bone short ribs or ox tail. This big bowl of pho came with two pieces of ox tail, the larger half cut tail meat was a bit on the tougher side and the smaller whole piece was more to my liking where the meat was tender and near falling off the bone. The tendon and brisket pieces were tender but the flank was tough and hard to chew. The broth without any addition was on the bland side. After adding the bean sprout, lime, leaves, and chili sauce was more tasty. The service was friendly and food delivery was quick. There are menu items that may bring me back for return visit.

Second time here and I cannot say enough good things ! It's my new fav spot . I came this second time around and got the chicken dish it's so good . It's soft and moist while the outside is crunchy . The pickled veggies and rice is delish ! I ordered a bowl of soup on the side this time as well . The Vietnamese coffee and orange juice are yummy too

Man, second time here and it's really very different from the first time we were here. We ordered: Pho - very little flavor in the broth and the broth itself wasn't hot enough #15A: the grilled meats were not tasty at all and seemed rushed Appetizers were such a bummer: Calamari: looks nothing like the picture on the menu and it arrived AFTER our meal Salt and pepper tofu: super coated in batter and served with raw onions. Arrived AFTER our meal. I just don't think we will be back until they make some changes.

My go to spot for Wonton Soup with Ho Fun Noodles! May not be our favorite Vietnamese spot... but for Wonton's, I really like it! Service is quick. You sit where you like. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We usually sit indoors against the large art wall. They take your order. You eat. And you can go to the register to Apple Pay. The portions are pretty good. I always finish up my whole bowl. Broth and all!

$8.95 promo for beef combo pho!

No complaints for a delicious packed bowl of combination beef pho for $8.95. You will not find a better deal anywhere in the states. I've been here six times in the past two weeks. Owner said the promo is until the end of the month, and they'll even be open tmw on thanksgiving! Go get yours while it lasts.

Creative way to price BBH with or without the pig feet.

Cloudy Friday with a few missions accomplished in Oakland/Alameda Homedepot, we (my fiat and I) were slowly rolling out the main entrances. I was avoiding eye contacts with the Hispanic bros who are waiting for work in the front. Not now but good to know that you guys are around... I think... Wait! I see pho and 10.95 and where?!!! Tasty Bowl! and 10 minutes later, I'm sitting down waiting for P1 (pho combo) for $10.95. Not a scam... yet.... (btw, BBH no pig feet $13.95, with pig feet $17.95, I was amused by the flexibility they think this can be....: )) It's piping hot and a hearty bowl of pho. Not huge not small and just right, though it's hard to fish out the thin sliced stick meat. But there are quite few big pieces of briskets and even with some long time boil neck meats. Garnishments are quite fresh as well. Is it because they are next the very famous Pho King that they need to work extra harder? Regardless, if you take the trouble to post a sign outside of H.D. and I see it, I'm sold. Probably no one would disagree with me that the amount of effort and energy you need to keep the business running, safe, competitive, profitable (another 100 words later), you need more than 10 miles of work and imagination. Plus, have you ever seen any restaurants have their original price crossed out with a discounted price? I've never. They exactly remind me of the ppl in Vietnam, creative and survival oriented. This is why they caught another immigrant like me. Only suggestion is to clean the table and siracha bottle better. They are kind of greasy. Sometimes cleanness is the first thing to propel ppl. It doesn't take much to correct it. Slowly rolling out of the mall now...

I got the #1 it's bomb with the beef short rib on the side
    Paula Adora V.

This is our go to noodle soup spot since Pho King is always so busy and the other spots further down International are a bit farther. We've been going here since we used to live in the area. I like the hu tieu nam vang (soup) with thick egg noodle soup when I'm feeling like eating something more Cambodian. I love the fried pork fat, quail egg, blood cube, pork slices, and I always add chili oil and pickled jalapeños. The broth is well rounded and flavorful. Perfect balance of savory with a little sweet. I also like picking different noodles for this soup since I always eat rice noodles with pho. The dry version is very bomb too. This is the best dish there in my opinion- especially for those who like a variety of flavors. My husband always gets the #1 pho combo. It comes with a beef rib as well. Sometimes we get the regular pho combo too - there's a special right now for $9.95 for a small. This is a really good deal for the Bay Area honestly. The place is usually not packed but I wish it was. The team knows our orders there. It's a very nice family establishment. I know there's a lot of competition nearby but it's worth a try! We've gone to all the other spots as well - each place will have their own special dish and for me it's the Hu tieu nam vang.

    Dead roach in fried rice.

!!Please do not eat here!! They have roaches!! I had never tried or been to this place before but I was craving some spring rolls so I decided to try some from this location. It was a horrible experience, I cannot express my disgust adequately. We ordered some food and when it got to us THERE WAS A DEAD COCKROACH IN THE FRIED RICE. Id say pick literally anywhere else to spend your money at because this was a total absolute waste of $60 for us to end up having to throw away everything we got because this place has cockroaches running around in their food.

The Roti Dip was OUT OF THIS WORLD (6/5). It exceeded my expectations. The Roti was very soft and crispy and the dip had an amazing coconut/herby taste. The waiter saw how much we loved the dip and brought us another one to use for our rice. Big shout out to her! The chicken wings were okay. Not that spicy for me (I have a high spice tolerance) but I expected them to be more savory. They were cooked very well though. I would give it a 3/5 Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my main which was the crispy whole dried fish. I am a sucker for whole fish dishes so I was pretty excited and expectant for something spectacular. The fish itself was bland. It was very crispy and cooked well but not really seasoned. I had thought the sauce they serve with it was intended to impart flavor on the fish, but the sauce was just very tangy and not flavorful. I did finish the fish though but it's not something I would get again. Overall a 2.5/5. Their coconut rice was good though I was expecting more of a coconut flavor with it. I would rate that a 4/5. It was cooked very well. I think this is a really nice place though, perhaps I just did not order the right or more popular dishes. I'll be coming back for the ROTI WITH DIP (It was that good) and to try the other items in their menu.

Manageable depending on timing I had: Pumpkin Curry (3.5/5): This looked far better than it tasted. Presentation was solid, vibrant colors, nicely plated, the kind of dish that makes you optimistic when it hits the table. But the flavor never really followed through. The sauce felt flat and thinner than it should've been, lacking the depth and richness that makes a pumpkin curry memorable. There also wasn't enough actual pumpkin, which feels like a weird miss for a pumpkin curry. I did appreciate that it came with rice on the side, which helped round the dish out a bit.
