Already drunk and looking for a hangout after a show, Tasty Burger hit the spot. It is reasonably priced, though I wouldn't necessarily say "cheap," they serve alcohol (what is this mystical thing -- fast food with alcohol??? Why haven't I seen this before???? Is it really that hard to get a liquor license?), and I was really overwhelmed by the number of sauces! The french fries and onion rings were both solid -- the onion rings were very small, but there were many of them. I think the primary reason that they were small was to enable the highest possible onion:fry ratio, which is really what everyone wants anyway. Really the food was just normal. But let us revisit the sauces. There were just so many of them! The sauces were at the bar but they let us take one of the sauce wheels to our table, where we partook in the likes of mayonnaise, sriracha, vinegar, ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce, Tasty Burger sauce (I don't know if this is what they called it, but it was my favorite, especially in combination with the mayonnaise, call me a heathen). I think there were more, even -- or honestly, maybe I was just drunk, and enthusiastic in my stupor. All in all the experience here ended up feeling eclectic -- drinking glasses of wine in very serviceable little glasses, while eating large quantities of fried foods off of red checked wax paper smothered in different sauces in the way a painter's palette might be, with different combinations of sauce bleeding together at the edges creating new and better creations. Why the three stars, you ask? Well, at the end of the day it IS a fast food joint, and it isn't cheap -- but I did enjoy my time here, in a nostalgic way. Tasty Burger just isn't the place you go to get drinks with someone, at least not for me -- to me it feels like your "post-game," the place you go once you've already been out a while and just want to have some greasy food with friends before heading home for the night. You too should come to Tasty Burger, under similar late-night circumstances. read more

I flew into Boston on a very late flight and needed something to eat. I looked up places that were open passed 12AM and Tasty Burger popped up. When I walked in, the staff was busy with orders. Once I decided what I wanted to eat, the gentleman behind the counter was pleasant, courteous and took my order. My food didn't take long to make and there was another gentleman that was just as pleasant and courteous as the first. The service at Tasty Burger was great! The reason why this isn't a better score is because I was disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered the Chicky Chicky Chicken Parm sandwich, tater tots and chicken nuggets. When you go to Tasty Burger, you know what you're going for. Having been a staple by Fenway for many a years, Tasty Burger provides a nice, meaty, greasy burger with a variety of toppings including jalapenos, mushrooms and eggs. Fries are decent, though nothing amazing. Best part is its open late and theres a section that serves beer with 2 nice flat screens so its perfect for a chill after work hanging out or to stumble into after a late night at Clerys next door to satisfy the drunchies. read more

I loved this place. It's close to work and the burgers are fresh and delicious. I've never had an issue when I order inside the restaurant. Yes they're busy but I don't mind waiting. I know they have a lot of customers to serve. They call your name out when your order is ready. This negative review is for the online ordering, they use Ritual or Caviar. I've ordered twice using the service thinking it's easier than waiting in line. Just pick up and go. Nope. The person out front is too busy calling out the names and packing up orders for everyone who ordered inside. When I try to pick up my online order I get ignored. It's infuriating when your food is sitting on the counter and everyone who has ordered after you gets their food before you. When I got my order today I noticed I got a smaller portion of fries than what I normally get. I ordered a large to share with my sister. Thinking it was a mistake I asked them to fix it. They said the To Go orders that's the size of the box it comes in and sometimes workers over fill the boxes. They just shrugged me off. How is that a large? Would you pay $4 for that amount of fries? Basic burger place that does it very well! The best thing about this burger was the beef. I appreciated that I was given the option of doneness (rare, medium, well). I asked for a medium and was very pleased with the flavor and juiciness of the patty. The burger toppings are not particularly exciting but they have the standard stuff and some interesting combinations. Onion rings were interesting; they were sliced thin, battered and fried but not really "ring-like". They were tasty but it was more like eating onion strings with crispy batter tossed in. I went in here today. I love tasty burger and this location is so convenient for me I couldn't wait to write a review. I will say that the food was great, the service was decent, and the kitchen etiquette was far better than the Dudley location. I would've given this place five stars if it wasn't for one small thing. I asked the cashier for a "side of onion rings" not knowing that there was a difference between the side of onion rings and what the menu calls a pile of onion rings. I wanted the pile and I was devastated when I saw that I only got a tiny cup of onion rings. I mean yes I don't need the calories but I wish she would've specified the difference for me because I've always said a side of onion rings and the cashier would always give me the box of rings so I never thought there was another option. Also, I mentioned to her that I wanted a canned beer. It took her forever to understand I wanted beer as in alcohol. I was clear but there was clearly a language barrier before she told me there's a bar and that's separate. Also, I asked for a cheeriwine drink and she took forever to understand that too. That was enough to make me drop a star. I have no problem with any group of people, my own family is diverse, but I don't feel like repeating myself clearly three times before you understand what I meant. Sweet girl but very frustrating. Lastly, the receipt wasn't clear either. If I had actually saw the price of the rings on my receipt I would've easily known she mischarged me. However, I'll blame myself for thinking my food was simply more cheaper than what it usually is. I also noticed that the drinks were located almost by the entrance connecting to the train station and that it wasn't being monitored by anyone. Management should change that location because that looks like theft waiting to happen. In summary, I will be back but I'll have to bring my patience with me as well. read more

I understand it was a busy holiday, but everyone was hustling to complete orders during the rush and she was the literal bottle neck of the whole process. It, too, was good. The guacamole went perfectly with the veggie patty. The buns were fresh and soft. The cashier appeared to have been a trainee. A surly employee, the trainer, stood off to the side. One of my first stops after a long flight. Stumbled upon this gem while waiting to check into my hotel. At first I wanted to get my food and just head to a quiet corner. But after traveling as long as I did I NEEDED a drink! I saw that they have a wine and beer bar and you could order food there as well so I was sold. One of the best decisions I made on this trip. I'd like to preface this by saying that I created a yelp account to document awful, unreceptive behavior by one of Tasty Burger's staff Friday evening. A customer skipped the entire line last night when the wait was greater than 20 minutes. We brought this to the attention of one of the managers, Chris, and he still served the line skipping customer, telling us, "It's not my job to police the line." The manager also appeared to know the line skipper, but once we began discussing the issue with him, the manager obviously did not admit to this, which further irritated us and the remaining people in the line. The fact that the staff, or specifically the manager Chris, will not enforce social norms, claiming that it is not his or her job, is unacceptable and infuriating. It IS the staff's job to enforce the rules, and Chris (a Tasty Burger employee) is wrong to claim otherwise. In my opinion, look for another establishment for late night food. This is for the new Back Bay location on Dartmouth St. Visited on 8/23/15. My first visit to a tasty burger and likely my last. I'd been excited to try it as I'd never been, but from the moment I walked in I was disappointed and even disgusted. The staff was eating behind the food preparation counters. The napkin straw and condiment stations were dirty and understocked. I ordered the bacon blue cheese burger and added tomatoes onions and a couple items, with a side salad. I received none of the toppings, the wrong salad dressing. Returned to point this out and was given attitude, then received a sandwich which was gross- slathered in the toppings and almost inedible. Never coming back here again. I'd rather be harassed by homeless people but always get my order right then get it wrong. The other locations are good, quality. This place sucks. Every time I ordered from here something isn't right. I just got a mushroom burger; it actually was just a cheese burger. No mushrooms no truffle oil but still paying that same price. Last time i got a soda, it was half filled. Another time, I almost walked out without fries. If i can't trust a place to actually give me what I ordered and paid for, then what good is it? Other pluses include that they serve breakfast (which I've not eaten but is good to know for early morning work travel out of Back Bay) and alcohol. And, they're open late. Minuses? Draft beer selection is limited, especially compared to their Harvard Square location. I am also not a huge fan of their ultra-thin onion rings. It also seems that there was only one size. I tried the Tasty Burger. It had really cool wrapping paper. My burger was juicy and hot. It was really good. I would've loved it if my tomato and onion had been the right size. I hate when one bite has every flavor and the next is missing some. The fries were fries. Now that I live equidistant from Tasty Burger and Shake Shack, I'm on a constant mission to declare one better than the other. And I'm not sure I ever will. Eating at this location was my first Tasty Burger experience and it was a great one. Sunny day, great patio, nice beer selection. Already a huge one up on Shake Shack- they have chicken sandwiches! This new Tasty is great! What a cool addition to the neighborhood. The bar and kitchen are both open until 2am every night. The food and drink were good as expected, but what REALLY impressed me was the staff. I came into the bar this past Saturday (around 1:30am) after a night out. Kaylee (bartender) was hilarious and kind. Even though it was almost closing time, she was super sweet and gave us great beer/burger recommendations from their new menu. The rest of the staff was just as friendly and funny -- whenever new customers came in, the WHOLE team cheered and welcomed them! I've never seen such great energy and spirit after midnight in any restaurant. For an awesome, memorable end to a night out, definitely check out this Tasty location on your way home. Awesome location, right next to the Back Bay station so you can get one before work, on your way home, on your way to NYC, wherever! Facilities were clean and staff was INCREDIBLY friendly. I was really impressed - the person taking my order was laughing and really pleasant to interact with. I went at 1PM and the wait was about 10 minutes from order placement to getting my food, so not bad for brand new. Food is amazing, as always. The guy behind the counter never verbalized anything to me, but talked to my male coworkers (he would only nod to me) and got one of the orders wrong (fries instead of tots).
