To be blunt, the shop looked dingy in need of some TLC but sometimes the best food is in unsuspecting places that dont emphasize on decor but only the quality of the product. Well, this was one of those places. A quick check of the gender neutral bathroom revealed a clean and simple no frills room. Now, back to the counter, and while viewing the small wall menu, it was evident by the pricing that they were not trying to burn a hole in your wallet. Every patty were under $3.00 and the sweet cakes too. Noticed that they did not offer a spicy beef which are my favorite but went with the plain beef patty but without added hot sauce. The patty was larger than my goriila sized hand and the sheer weight was impressive. The steaming hot beef densely packed the firm flaky crust. No outside patio to sit and eat so we drove off with our treat. My wife and I carefully took small bites at every stop light as the flakes fell onto our laps and the center console. The beef had a mild tasty flavor and the crust was spectacular. The wife, not being a patty enthusiast, was surprisingly pleased with the taste and said we have to visit Taste Rite again.

Simple drip coffee was offered but no espresso machine observed. Noticed a tray of huge "fried" beef patties (resembled empanadas with stunning rope pinched edges) in the front display case. Each patty had a different contour which was a common trait of a fresh product. They were $5.00 each but pleasantly oversized. I peered at the "baked" patties against the back wall and inquired on the pricing. The owner said $1.50 each and I was shocked and instantly ordered one with a thick homemade banana bread also for $1.50 as dessert. The owner said that this is what we offer and charge at a family owned local small business. There is no inside seating or a public bathroom - strictly take out only. I sat in my car and enjoyed the flaky patty and lightly spiced beef. For dessert the thick dense banana bread was moist with a pungent banana taste.
