Been wanting to try Tasty Garden for so long and it didn't disappoint. Their menu is HUGEEE a little overwhelming but it was part of the fun trying to decide what sounded best for everyone. My standout dish was the honey pork chop, it was so flavorful and tender and crispy- I love a sweet marinade on my meats and Tasty Garden did it super well! Would highly recommend this dish. The beef chow fun and sticky rice were also very good, the textures on all the carbs were on point and went well with the honey pork chop. The bok choy we ordered was good for a veggie dish and was a nice break from the oily food. Will definitely be back to try the other menu items next time I'm craving Chinese! It might take a lifetime to get through this menu, but I'm willing to put in the work

Establishment is relaxed, clean and spacious. Staff was professional and courteous. We ordered: 1. Walnut shrimp: well sauced and crispy, sweet crunchy walnuts 2. Peking pork chop: excellent flavoring, very tender 3. Xo string beans: flavorful and tender TLDR: Excellent service, good food, good establishment, great value. Would recommend!

Wow...I've been living in the Irvine area for around 2.5 years and just found out about this restaurant. It's so difficult to find good Cantonese food in Orange County without driving up to SGV or visiting SF. This place really surprised me in terms of quality and authenticity. The honey walnut shrimp is a classic must-get. The shrimp was fresh and abundant. The soft noodle beef chow mein was super addicting without being oily. The filet-mignon style beef was super tender and rich in flavor. Really recommend going with a group if you can so you can share family style and try more dishes. It got pretty busy during dinner time but we were still able to flag down waiters for questions and to order.

This has been one of my goto authentic Chinese food spots for a min. I usually order for take out, i decided to dine and the service was 10/10 for us on this occasion. Really attentive even though theres only like 3 servers for 20 tables. Free refills on hk milk tea and free refills on rice. Their menu is huge, but honestly it's all a hit. I did they pork bone broth with noodles 5/5. Clean flavor and good pork flavor. Baked pork chop has a good sear and is juicy. Also got the curry fired pork cutlet. Reminds me of like Japanese katsu, 5/5. For how fried and crispy it was i was surprised at how tender and juicy it was.

My friend brought me here for the first time and WOW the dishes here are delicious and authentic! I was actually very surprised because it's hard to find good Cantonese restaurants in Irvine. I got the pea shoots as our veggie, honey walnut shrimp, soft noodle beef chow mein, filet mignon style beef, and the salt and pepper pork chops. Everything was really good and service was quick and attentive. Will definitely be back Pea shoots 5/5 - very good especially with the garlic and is very nostalgic for me Honey walnut shrimp 5/5 - classic dish and the shrimp was extra crispy Chow mein 5/5 - so delicious and very easy to eat a lot of Filet mignon 4/5 - it was good but some of the thicker cut pieces were a bit chewy. The smaller pieces were nice and tender though Salt and pepper pork chops 5/5 - perfectly fried with a nice lean pork chop and is generously portioned

Came to Tasty Garden in Irvine and honestly loved everything we ordered. The honey walnut shrimp was my favorite. It was crispy, sweet, and not too heavy at all. The clam soup was super comforting and light, perfect to balance everything out. We also got the crispy noodles with beef, and the noodles stayed crunchy while soaking up the sauce. On top of that, the service was great. The server was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back and would reorder the same dishes again.

Our search for good Hong Kong style Chinese food continues. This place was packed on Christmas night, taking ~30 minutes for our party of 5 to get seated. We ordered: N1.House Special Ckn(Half): $20.95 (just average) O2.Peking Style Pork Chop: $19.50 (average) R4.Fish Fillet in Sweet & Sour Sauce: $20.50 (my favorite dish) Y13.Seafood Chow Mein: $19.98 (gummy noodles) Y6.Beef w/ Egg Chow Mein: $18.98 (gamey tasting beef) Everything was just average except the noodles. Noodles were poor; they tasted under-cooked and gummy. I didn't even get a second helping and noodles are usually my favorite. People seem to enjoy this place, but it's just not for me!

If you're looking for an authentic Hong Kong Cafe experience, this is the spot. We ordered a mix of our favorite dishes and they did not disappoint. The interior is also super clean and the servers are wonderful! Baked Seafood with Cream Sauce & Noodles: This was pure comfort food. The sauce was rich and silky, and the corn added a nice sweetness that balanced the savory seafood. There was a variety of seafood like fish, scallops, calamari, and shrimp. Beef Chow Fun (Dry Style): The true test of a HK chef! The 'Wok Hei' was incredible--no excess oil at the bottom of the plate, and the rice noodles had that perfect charred flavor. Fried Chicken Wings with Spicy Salt: Perfectly crispy skin with just the right amount of heat and garlic. They were juicy on the inside and addictive on the outside. Honey Pork Chop with Garlic: A great balance of sweet and savory. The garlic really punched through the honey glaze, one of my favorites of the night! Great portions and fast service. Definitely a must-visit for comfort food!

Family style Chinese food is served! I had: 1. Salt and Pepper Pork Chop 2. Sautéed String Beans in XO Spicy Sauce 3. Filet Mignon Fried Rice in Special Sauce 4. Fish Fillet in Sweet & Sour Sauce 5. House Special Chicken with Ginger & Scallion

Haven't been here in a while, but still a great place for a casual HK style lunch. Make sure to come early on weekends and be prepared to wait. After about 25 mins, we were seated and promptly greeted. We ordered a few dishes to share amongst ourselves and they were all pretty tasty. The diced chicken with creamy corn rice was a delicious and comforting home style dish. House special chow mein was my favorite dish, as it was filled with veggies and meats/seafood, and wasn't too salty. Wonton soup was good as far as wonton soups go (I don't usually like this dish, so I'm not the best judge of this dish). The restaurant itself was modern, wait staff were friendly and prompt and atmosphere was lively.

Came here for a dinner on a weekday. The service was amazing as they were very attentive and helpful. Our server recommended a cheaper alternative dish as one of the items we selected was out of season and the recommendation was very tasteful and could become a replacement for the original dish for us. He was also attentive as one of our party dropped their chopsticks and he immediately came over with a new pair without us needing to ask. Food was good as always.

A classic Cantonese spot in Irvine with a comfortable dining space and very convenient parking. The restaurant is clean, bright, and great for family meals or casual gatherings. Prices are reasonable for the area, and the portions are satisfying. We especially enjoyed the jumbo shrimp with scallion and ginger and the flavorful stir-fried clams. Overall, a reliable place when you want traditional Chinese comfort food in a relaxed setting. Would come back again.

I loved the mapo tofu. It was spicy, but at the same time very flavorful! The honey walnut shrimp was also amazing--the outside was crunchy and the shrimp itself was plump. I also liked the Mongolian beef, chicken wings, and clams! The staff was very friendly as well!

Parking was plentiful as this restaurant is located in a shopping center where there's a Korean grocery store, Zion Market. We were seated right away. It's a casual atmosphere with a decent amount of tables. I let the server know that it was our first time there. She was doing her best to be helpful to suggest some popular items. Our dinner started off with the wonton soup ($16.95) We chose not to have noodles with it. I intended to order the pork, but what came out was a combination of pork and shrimp in the wontons. The wontons were a good size and had good flavor. There was nothing else that came with it except the broth. No vegetables. I feel like it was a small amount for the price point. Next up, the minced pork with string beans ($18.95) were brought out. The green beans were delicious and not overcooked and still had a crunch to it. The minced pork was seasoned very nicely and complemented the vegetable well. And for the next dish, this was my favorite of our dinner, the two meat combination of barbecue pork and crispy roasted pork ($26.95). The crispy pork was amazing! The outer skin had a nice crunch to it, and there was a good balance of pork and fat. The barbecue pork was sweet and savory. I think we over ordered one dish too many. That's ok because we had some leftovers to take home. Lastly, we had the house special filet mignon ($27.95). This came with a lot of onions and some traces of green bell pepper. I believe it was Thai basil that was part of this dish, which I really liked! The service was nice and attentive, without being intrusive. That usually doesn't happen too often at these restaurants. It looks like they work as a good team. Another server handed us a fork and knife to cut the crispy pork and fillet mignon chunks. That was thoughtful since we didn't ask for it. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back more often!

And if you've been following my reviews on Yelp for the last six+ years, you already know one thing about me: I don't lie, I don't sugarcoat, and I don't gatekeep good food. If I ever withhold information, it's only because I'm unconscious. So today, I woke up with a craving so specific it felt like a pregnancy symptom: marinated roasted duck. Naturally, I did what any responsible adult would do. I opened Yelp and typed "best roasted duck in Irvine." And boom! The first result? Tasty Spot. Now, I've only been here twice (or it could've been three times) since one of my husband's best friends invited us in when it first opened. We loved it. And listen, my husband is one of the pickiest human beings on planet Earth. This man will look you dead in the eye and tell you to un‑five‑star a restaurant if he thinks your "culinary soulmate" is actually a catfish. He doesn't pull punches; he throws Yelp‑level truth bombs. He's that picky. Which, honestly, explains why he married me, clearly he has impeccable taste. Speaking of me, the ultimate foodie adventurer, (the same one who will drive 50 miles for excellent sushi) said to myself, "Let's go back, girl!" And let me tell you... I did NOT regret it. Not even a little. As your Dating Coach reviewer here on Yelp, I can unequivocally tell you that the universe greeted me in the form of Amy, my server, who was basically the human equivalent of your well‑timed first date: she courteously smiled, was attentive, and patiently answered all my questions without making me feel like I was being "politely tolerated." If you've been stuck in the Burger‑Fries‑Milkshake situationship (since you graduated from Gerber's peas, carrots and spinach mushy food jars), consider this your sign to expand your dating pool, I mean, your DINING pool, and try this place. IS THIS PLACE DATEWORTHY OR NOT? I give it a resounding Yes. Super casual and effortlessly charming. The kind of place where even your mother-in-law would approve. Now, a special shout‑out to Amy...Girl, you're the kind of server who makes a customer want to come back not just for the food, but for the experience. The restaurant itself is spacious, whether you're on a cozy date for 2 or hosting a chaotic party of 20 hungry people, you won't feel boxed in. It has that "big dinner party" vibe without the stress of actually hosting a big dinner party. And the roasted duck? OMG Amy told me it's cooked FRESH every single day, and honestly, the way she wholeheartedly explained it made me think about the giddiness that my girlfriends experience when a man actually texts them back right away. They go through so much marinated duck that I'm convinced this might be the best roasted duck in California. If you're from out of town, your trip here would be so worth it. Yes, I said it. I stand by it. Fight me. I'll absolutely be back -- for the freshly roasted duck, for the vibes, and for their delicious lemon tea, and their unmatched coffee milk tea! Yummy!

For the price and reputation, I expected better attention to detail. I'd recommend double-checking your food before eating if you order shrimp here.
