Top is Beef Hot Soup and bottom is Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup

I have been in the mood for hot pot recently with all the cold and rainy weather. Had stopped by sourdough&co a couple weeks ago and realized there was a Tasty Pot next door. Finally had time on a Monday to come here for dinner. The service was very fast and friendly. We were able to pick our seat when walking in as it was a slower night. There were still many open tables. This is a smaller restaurant with pretty chill vibes inside. Looked through the menu for about 10-15 minutes and then had our order taken. The food came out pretty quickly after ordering. We had our own pots with the burners underneath to keep the soup boiling. I had the kimchi dumpling soup and my friend ordered the beef hot soup. I didn't realize how much we could or couldn't customize so for our first time we just ordered the soups as they came. If we come back, I will definitely customize as there were parts I really liked and others that I didn't. And now I know. I think I was expecting more of a hot pot shareable experience and this was different with the individual pots. Overall, Tasty Pot was okay. Nothing overly outstanding unfortunately. But the service was excellent and the server checked on us many times and offered to refill the soup broth which was nice.

What kind of business is this?! Who closes during business hours without no notice or sign! We've arrived around 6pm today. My daughter and I was looking forward to hot pot during this torrential down pouring of rain. We were cold and hungry! What a HUGE disappointment! You loss my business, never coming back!

Tried the Cheesy Milk Hot Soup this visit and it was good. My goal is to try all their soup variety but I'm quite sure everything tastes good since there's just a few I haven't tried yet. We love getting our hotpot craving fixed here.

Food is amazing! Had the beef pot my friends had the following: the veggie, Japanese miso and tofu. One of my friends brought her little one so we got appetizers to share. The service was wonderful very accommodating for my friend's little one even customized one of the appetizers for him. The ambiance is simple clean and fun. Eat here if you want good tasty pot!

Stopped in for a quick dinner. Because it was a week night, there were plenty of tables. Was immediately seated, menu provided and water served. Service was quick...10 mins from the time they took my order til I received. I ordered the Miso Japanese Hot soup with vermicelli and fried calamari. The breading on the calamari was light and the pieces were BIG! Loved my soup selection. They even came back to add more hot soup Thank you and I'll be back

Be aware of the new hours btw! Food and service is very excellent. Love coming here with my family

Tasty Pot is a satisfying personal or shareable hotpot experience, especially with the cooler fall weather and darker evenings. Hot Soups Menu #1-#7 are standard portion size, and #8-#12 are larger and meant to be for more than 1 person. Once you pick your Hot Soup flavor and spice level, you can add on veggies or meats that don't already come with. Rice or noodles, and additional sauces at the table (miso, garlic, chili). Refills on broth if needed. Mild level spice is generally too hot for me, and I lean towards rice over vermicelli noodles. I've tried the #1 Beef, #2 Lamb, #3 Cheesy Milk, #4 Curry, #7 Kimchi Dumpling, #8 Thai, and #10 Miso. I've also had their fried potstickers, nori fries, calamari, and tea. My favorite is the #4 curry (NO SPICE), mostly due to the variety of fish balls and it being a pork-based bone broth. Open late (9 or 10 PM) and service is always good. At lunchtime, an iced black or green tea is included with the meal!

Their lunch combos are so worth it! It comes with either green tea or black tea. If you run out of soup, they also offer refills for your broth. Their beef soup and lamb soup are so yummy!

This is a typical hot pot establishment. I ordered the Japanese miso hot pot, which consisted of sliced pork, crab, udon, assorted vegetables, and rice on the side. The broth was lightly seasoned. I sampled my sister's beef hot pot and it was very flavorful. I prefer the beef hot pot over the miso hot pot. We also ordered a side of small sausages, which was just okay. The fries were great as it consisted of some type of seasoning. They ran out of calamari so we settled for the egg rolls, which was just okay. The milk tea tasted somewhat watered down. I can barely taste the flavor of the tea. Sadly, I am not impressed what the quality of the food.

We came here with a group of 15 while in town for a business trip, and I have to say--the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. One thing that really stood out was that they were able to split the check individually for each of us, which made things so much easier since most of us needed receipts for reimbursement. I really wish more restaurants did this! The hot pot experience overall was enjoyable. The broth was flavorful, and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. I ordered the Thai bowl, which came loaded with seafood--so definitely keep that in mind if you're not a big seafood fan. It also had thinly sliced of beef. I paired mine with a side of rice, but in hindsight, I think noodles would have been a better choice to soak up the broth. One small issue was that the soup came out extremely hot, which made it tough to eat quickly, especially since we were on a tight schedule. Still, it's better than lukewarm soup any day. The complimentary green tea was a nice touch--light, soothing, and perfect with the meal. All in all, it was a good experience and I'd come back again, especially with a group. Great service and a solid hot pot spot.

You choose what flavor you want for your hotpot and they vary on ingredients. I've gone to lunch 2 times at this location. It is a good deal for the price. I can never finish all of it and have leftovers to take home. They pour you extra broth if you run low on soup. Food seems fresh and the flavors are good. I've ordered the Japanese miso soup and the curry one. I got mild for the spice level and it's a bit spicy. For lunch, you get green tea or black tea with your meal and you get to choose rice or noodles for the side. The service is good.

Food was so good!!!! I got the curry pot and let's just say I would eat that everyday !!! 10/10 !! The service was great! The green tea was so refreshing! Will definitely be going back

Glad my mom suggested it for her birthday dinner or I don't know when I would've ever gone! Service was excellent (both helpful & informative). Since we'd never gone before, we were offered a sample of the broths; this was super helpful and appreciated because I ended up not ordering one of the broths I thought I was definitely going to get. I got the Kobe Beef with Miso & Crab Rieu as the two broths. I was able to comfortably split the large size with my husband, but we probably could've used a slightly larger portion for his sake. (He felt a bit hungry after the meal but noted his stomach had settled.) As a party of 5, two of us shared one pot (or two broths) and three shared another pot. The chicken wings appetizer was very flavorful too! (The server listed three options for wings and we went with the one that included jalapeños.) For noodles, you can choose between instant ramen, fresh ramen or vermicelli. It also came with a small scoop of ice cream at the end of the meal! I think I'll come back for AYCE soon. All the ingredients were fresh and very tasty.

I ordered the Large American Kobe Beef with miso and crab broths. It was an average size to feed two people, however I was hungry so I was not full after the meal. The dish came with thin sliced beef, veggies, and choice of noodles or rice. The portion of noodles was very small. The crab broth was my favorite of all the broths and had a nice crab flavor. The meal came with dessert which was a choice of ice cream; I chose the cookies and cream. The chicken wing appetizer was scrumptious. The wings were fried and coated with sauce with lots of jalapenos. Service was good as the employee offered samples of all their broths to assist in making a selection. After the food was served he checked if we needed anything and refilled water. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It was busy on a Saturday evening so reservations are recommended. Free parking is on the street.

Even though the restaurant is very busy, the service was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The dessert after the hotpot was also a nice surprise and very enjoyable. The price per person is a bit higher than other all you can eat hotpot places, but the quality of the ingredients more than justifies it. I have honestly never had hotpot with such high quality black tiger shrimp, and the beef was the best I have ever had at a hotpot restaurant. The owner clearly focuses on ingredient quality rather than fancy decor or presentation, otherwise the price would easily be much higher. In Las Vegas, hotpot of this same quality usually costs significantly more, so this place is absolutely worth trying. A great option for family gatherings, with excellent freshness and ingredient quality you can really trust.

So glad we have a Zhangliang Malatang in Sac!…read more I've been on a Malatang streak lately and was very pleased to find such a clean, spacious, and well-kept location even though it's part of a strip mall in South Sac. I was only one of two patrons when I arrived shortly after they opened, so it was easy for me to take my time making my choices. They have a pretty comprehensive selection, and everything is super fresh and kept to proper holding temperatures. I already really liked that the price for the broths and the dry pot was the same, since usually the dry pot costs at least $1 more at other locations. I'm not a dry pot kind of person, but my husband is, and he was pleased to hear this as well. The classic bone broth only has one spice level, but I didn't mind since I like spicy. While I waited for my food, I checked out the sauce bar, which had a good variety as well. It didn't take long for my steaming hot bowl of Malatang to arrive, and everything was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a passion fruit green tea w/ boba (they are currently running a 50% off promo), and that was very refreshing without being overly sweet, and paired perfectly with my meal. I ended up doing around 1.6 lbs (which is a little more than my usual portion), so I had a good amount of leftovers for another delicious meal at home the next day. Can't wait to come back and build my next bowl of Malatang soon! That's the beauty of Malatang, every time you can create a different bowl depending on how you're feeling that day.

Ingredient options are…read moresomewhat more limited than other Malatang places, but the food tastes great and keeps me coming back. -------- Full review: I came here right when they opened at 5 PM, and the place was already pretty busy. At the beginning, you grab a bowl and a pair of tongs to start picking out the ingredients you want for your Malatang. I will note that the ingredient selection felt a bit more limited compared to some other Malatang spots I have been to, but there were still plenty of good options available. The interior itself felt similar to a typical restaurant with simple white walls and white tables. Once you finish filling your bowl, you bring it to the front where they weigh it and charge you based on the total weight. You can then choose your soup base and spice level before they prepare everything and bring it back to your table. While waiting, you can head over to the sauce bar to make your own dipping sauce and grab some fruit. I will say the fruit options felt a little limited since they only had grapes available during my visit. Once the food came out, it tasted great and I really enjoyed the flavor of the dry base. One of the best parts of Malatang is getting to customize exactly what goes into your meal, and this place still delivers on that experience. Overall, I consistently find myself coming back here whenever I want a satisfying meal with a good amount of customization options.
