We happened by this place on the way through town on a Thanksgiving Day to find out that was the day they served the community a free Thanksgiving day meal. It was a great meal with all the fixings. It is an hour from where we live and we have been thinking it is worth the drive just to go back there to eat. Great, friendly people and great food. read more

We have a Monday tradition to go to breakfast on Mondays after dropping the kids off at school. We always chose Tators. However, the last 3 times we have gone, the food has been horrible. Not sure what caused them to go downhill so fast. Chicken Fried Steak is always good which keeps my husband wanting to come back but everything else seems to lack in flavor. Makes me sad. read more

Burger was not good, meat was bland and gross tasting. Bacon tasted good and so did the fries when I got them after a mistake.

Worst experience I have had in a very long time at a restaurant I was so disappointed I really thought the chicken and dumpling soup was going to be home made and it was not and also we were under the assumption with the restaurant being called taters that they would make homemade tater tots and it was frozen we were there a few months ago we had an awesome breakfast but their lunch not so much read more

Super friendly wait staff and OUTSTANDING breakfast. The seating area is small and has some communal tables in the center, but I'm not afraid of strangers. This review is strictly on the service, which is to say non existent. I haven't had service this bad in years anywhere I have been. We stood around for 10 minutes before anyone would even talk to us and that was another patron. We would never have been able to order if we didn't stop the waitress. No smiles, no check ins, nothing. Absolutely appalling in this economy. The 2 stars is for the food which is good but not worth it. Place was fairly full at 10:30 am on a Sunday so a wait would not be unusual, but this was just awful. read more

Great and fresh food! I love Tater's home bread- YUMMY! I've gotten it with sandwiches and as a side with my breakfast entree. My absolute favorite sandwich is their club house. I've enjoyed their country fried steak platter, but I'm not that fawn of their biscuits and gravy as its own entree. Good service is a hit/miss depending on how busy they are. The servers are always friendly, but it can get irritating when I have to ask for a refill on my drink several times. I shall return many more times! read more

Would have given a better review because of the food... But the negative review on their Facebook page got me admonished by the owner, Rachel. Mind you, I was not the only one to not recommend their restaurant due to poor customer service... Apparently commenting back made her go from rude and condescending to angry and defensive. There are quite a few bad customer service comments so maybe instead of attacking customers, she should work on training some of her employees. I write A LOT of positive reviews, but I won't when people suck at their job and the owner has an issue with some of her staff and take it out on the customer. Treating customers like they matter and good food keeps customers coming back. Being rude and not being professional to customers, just sad. So, my daughter and I picked my Dad up for breakfast on Sunday morning and headed to Dallas to eat here at Tater's Cafe. When we got there the placed was packed, but didn't take long to get seated. Large menu to look thru.. Dad ordered the small senior type breakfast.. egg hashbrown, toast and bacon. He said it was about a 7 out of 10. My daughter ordered a build your own omelette, which had american and pepper jack cheese, and olives with hashbrowns. she gave it a 3. I had my normal go to, eggs benedict with hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were crispy just like I like them. The eggs benedict was terrible. The ham was sliced deli meat with hard boiled eggs. I get ready for the runny eggs to break open to run all over. I gave my meal a 2. eggs were disappointing and a let down with no runny yoke. The coffees were filled often and our waitress never came over to see if everything was ok, another waitress did but and asked if I wanted a couple more over easy eggs. I was done with my meal by then, so I told her no. Why our regular waitress never came over to our table I am not sure. there are only about 12 tables in the whole place. would not drive over there again for breakfast. read more

Well, this place has pretty good food. Family friendly with simple American style menu items. Breakfast seems to be the meal they concentrate on here the most. The food portions are big and are comparable to cost. The interior is a bit small, cramped and on a busy day, it can get loud. In good weather sitting outside may be the best option here. I rated 3 stars based on the loudness inside and the service. We had 4 orders, 1 was a plain grilled chicken sandwich (nothing but the chicken on the bun, no condiments). The contents of the sandwhich was expressly described by us to the server. Twice the sandwhich had to be sent back to correct. This inconvience came as a result of the server not listening, then not checking the food before bringing it to us both times. That incident aside, the family agreed we would eat there again if in the area. read more

The food is very good. The patio is beautiful with it's landscape that attracts little birds. The only thing that would make this more enjoyable would be to use real cream instead of the 7-11 style creamers and real whipped cream instead of canned whipped cream. read more
