One of our favorite restaurants in Georgetown! We really appreciate restaurants that offer food that's healthy, delicious, and reasonably priced, and Tatte absolutely delivers. While vacationing and staying in Georgetown, we found ourselves returning several times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because there were so many tempting options on the menu. The peach and raspberry overnight oats were absolutely fantastic, and the desserts were simply sublime. We also loved the variety of unique drinks and creative menu items. It was refreshing to have so many flavorful choices that also included plenty of healthy options. The restaurant itself is warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff was friendly and efficient every time we visited. Overall, Tatte was one of the highlights of our dining experience in Washington, D.C. If we lived in Georgetown, we'd undoubtedly be regulars. Highly recommended! read more

Went here after lunch for dessert on a Saturday. At the center is where one orders the food and drinks. Around it are the tables and chairs; nevertheless, it can still be hard to find a table because of how busy the place can get. Ambiance is casual. Service was quick. The pineapple passionfruit matcha bombe was soft. Its matcha was not overpowering and the sweet pineapple and passionfruit in the middle were a great combination. While visiting DC, people told us about Georgetown, an area that feels far away from the big city, where modern and old have merged elegantly. And there we found it, at an unassuming corner. The inside was spacious with pastries on display everywhere around the center coffee station. Most people seemed to have found a cozy third place to work and escape the heat. I don't blame them, as this felt like a very comfortable place. Service was uncomplicated and nice. We were not rushed. Our server even pointed out how surprised he was that I finished all of my entree. Clearly he needs more experience. For our food, we ordered the Shakshuka with lamb meatballs, a pistachio coffee (seasonal drink), and the smoked salmon sandwich. The pistachio coffee had pistachio crumble, making it tasty and with a nice texture. The Shakshuka was a big dish, skillet-style, bright in color and flavor! The tomato sauce was rich, the dill and parsley made the flavor vivid. The eggs were perfectly poached and the meatballs were tender, juicy, and to die for! The slices of challah bread were buttery. The smoked salmon sandwich was really good. The salmon was smoky and flakey and the sliced avocado made it creamy. The sprouts added some nice texture to an already great sandwich. Overall, our experience was amazing at a place we found by chance. Food and coffee were scrumptious. We definitely left wanting more items, but that would be for another time. read more

This location is so adorable - it definitely has the Georgetown feel! I came here on a Saturday with a friend and it was very busy. The line stretched outside the building. It loved pretty fast though. I ordered the ice tahini pumpkin oat milk latte, a seasonal drink that has become a fav! I also got the monkey bread. I have been to a few branches of Tatte ( DC, old town Alexandria, Bethesda, and in Boston) but I think this is my favorite location! It is bright and airy and spacious and they have Internet so this is a great spot to get some work done or work remotely. Everything I had here was delicious. For today's visit I just had the turkey BLT and their lime dessert! It was creamy and refreshing and delicious. Plus the service we had here was really good. The server was very funny and had interesting stories and had a really uplifting personality, which is always refreshing for me whenever I'm visiting a restaurant. Any time I'm in Georgetown this is definitely going to be one of my first stops. read more

This location in Georgetown has a very active but comfortable vibe. I stopped in on a Sunday at around 12:30pm. It was crowded, but I waited around for about 5 minutes before a table opened up. Once I claimed my table, I went up to order. I had a hot chai latte and the short rib grilled cheese sandwich. The chai latte was good - nothing bad nor spectacular about it. The sandwich was very good. The horseradish beet relish provided a sweet brightness to the shredded meat's smokiness. The only thing I would have liked better would for there to have been a larger amount of melty cheddar. As it was, the cheese (aged cheddar) was there in the background. We initially intended to go to Yellow for breakfast but the line snaking around the outside of the building was a deterrent since we were on a time crunch for another appointment in the area. Tatte was right across the street so we made a beeline for it. It was packed as well so it became a merry go round for chairs. My bf was finding a spot while I placed our order and got a table number stand thing (what even is the official name for those?). I ordered the spinach, Jerusalem artichoke and egg plate,also known as Cilbir. The issue is it was meant to be a poached egg and my egg yolk was very much hard boiled and solid. Also the predominance of the garlic labneh was a bit unappetizing for me - there was not enough chilli oil or other flavors to it. My bf got the Muesli which he enjoyed. Granola, fruits and greek yogurt - hard to mess up admittedly. I have been to other locations of Tatte and enjoyed my meal but this location felt very rushed and yeah little things like expecting a poached egg and then getting a hard boiled yolk instead was a bit of a let down. read more

I tried the ginger date latte, which was amazing--definitely my new favorite! Although my sister thought it was a bit too sweet for her taste. Tatte baked goods, savory menu items and their cofffee are reliably good. I've been to the Georgetown and Bethesda locations. Service is usually friendly. The issue with Tatte is that things take a while even on a weekday mid-morning when few people are there. If you order a latte and there are four people in line in front of you, it will take a while. Then, after ordering, it will take another solid 15 minutes for your coffee to arrive. When you get it, it will be lukewarm. Things are always slow and I don't really understand why. On weekends, the place gets packed and it is hard to get a table and things take even slower. Your wait to order and then receive food will be very long. The space is airy but noise reverberates and so it tends to be loud. In terms of space and decor, it feels a bit institutional, yet also like an American version of a European bakery. I avoid Tatte when its busy. I personally would not bring small children here on weekends because it would be challenging to navigate the ordering, wait times, noise factor, and lack of seating with little ones. However, if I want coffee and a croissant and I have some time to kill, I know I can count on Tatte for decent coffee and baked goods. read more

Kudos to your management for patting themselves on the back. But you lost a potential $20 sale by making us decide early and so we chose conservatively rather than generously as we wanted. Chocolate croissant lacks chocolate. Chocolate rose also lacks chocolate compared to Boston location. Sandwich is small and boring, not worth its premium price. The line was long and honestly a little confusing at first (you order pastries at the beginning but before I could even see all the pastries they had, and then hot food after that) but it moved quickly and the staff was friendly. Nothing unusual for Sunday brunch in Georgetown. We had no trouble getting a table either. Came in around 12 in the afternoon and the place was packed. With its location in Georgetown, I was not that surprised. I ordered a Halloumi & Sunny-Side Breakfast Sandwich which came out to $10.83. I thought I would need to sell a kidney to pay like I did when buying a flight back to the US. After a little while a server noticed the long wait and asked what my order was (which I appreciated as I had no indication of how long the wait would actually be at this time of day). He checked with another waiter who began to look for the order. Eventually, the manager stepped in and took my credit card number to find the order. I would not order food directly from this restaurant. I recently ordered delivery from this restaurant, straight from their website. They outsourced the delivery to DoorDash. When the order arrived I was missing an item. When I called the restaurant to get a refund (a fairly simple transaction) the restaurant declined to, saying it was a DoorDash order. In reality it was not a DoorDash order and DoorDash has no record of the order. So the restaurant just scammed me out of my money. read more

Tatte is a chain, but a good one. They have consistently good coffee and food. They know how to make a solid cortado, which can berate. Counterintuitively, I think their sandwiches and other prepared foods are much better than their pastries. Their croissants, for example, are too bready and not light enough (although they use good chocolate in their chocolate croissants). I like the lamb pita sandwich, and the avocado toast is always good. The Georgetown. Building is big and pretty. It's a great place to meet a friend or read a book. I think it is a converted bank. It has a very pretty tile floor and lots of small tables. Their staff tends to be attentive and professional. read more
