Yum! I wish I could leave it at that, everything was delicious. I loved that Tatte was within walking distance of the hotel. The bakery case was full of same day cakes, bread, lemon tastes, donuts, puff pastry, granola dnd so much more. I started with avocado toast and chai to control my need to overeat pastries, but when on vacation, eat the scratch made treats! The donuts were so fluffy and fresh, overfilled with greasy cream loved every bite. Oh and the staff were so friendly.
If you're looking for a café that feels like you've stepped off a cobblestone street somewhere in Europe, this is the spot. The moment I walked in, I got those cozy, old-world vibes--warm lighting, a relaxed atmosphere, and the kind of charm that makes you want to linger a little longer. The coffee? Excellent. Smooth, rich, and clearly made by people who care about their craft. Their pastry case is dangerous in the best way, and I tried the pistachio croissant on this visit. It wasn't bad at all--light, flaky, and just the right touch of sweetness. It's also a great space for lunch. Plenty of room, calm energy, and a perfect place to unwind, catch up with a friend, or get a little work done. Overall, great spot that brings a taste of Europe right into the neighborhood. I'll definitely be back!
Absolutely incredible ! The best selection of baked goods and a great place to have lunch before heading out to airport. I had to try the chicken salad sandwich it was amazing and their iced tea selection is just as good
Take me to Tatte!! First discovered Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Boston. One of my favorites for breakfast in the northeast. Pastry chef Tzurit Or initially started Tatte Bakery & Café in 2007 bringing home baked treats to sell at local Boston farmers' markets. After just one summer, Tatte opened its first brick-and-mortar bakery in Brookline. Love how comfortable each location feels despite being so popular. Wish there was one in Houston. Grab a menu and a table, not necessarily in that order. Order a breakfast (served all day), a weekend brunch or shakshuka. The Meze Breakfast was a great brunch spread. Two eggs with small sides of house made cashew pepper spread, feta & pistachio spread, roasted shishito pepper, dukkah and a chopped salad. Served with a fresh sesame Jerusalem bagel. Perfect way to start the weekend. Like shakshuka? Try a Traditional, Corn and Spinach or Lamb Meatball. Note, this is not your grandmother's shakshuka. The Corn and Spinach Shakshuka was so good. It's my favorite! Creamy corn sauce with baby spinach and poached eggs topped with heirloom cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, zhoug, Aleppo chili oil, and parsley. Served with a spoon and slices of sourdough to soak up that delicious sauce. Definitely get this one. The Lamb Meatball & Labneh Shakshuka was gobbled up by my husband. A tomato and bell pepper base with poached eggs, lamb meatballs, and peppadew peppers topped with spicy labneh and parsley. Served with a house made challah bread to start off your Saturday the right way. Service was great even though they were quite busy on a sunny summer Saturday in July.
This Tatte location is just a 12-minute walk from the Amtrak Union Station, making it a great option to grab a bite after a long train ride. I did just that and got three things: a matcha latte, a raspberry yogurt meringue cookie, and the roasted salmon winter vegetable bowl, which altogether was $28. I actually wish I could have tried their seasonal pumpkin latte but they were out, so I panicked and ordered the matcha lol. I didn't know until after I had ordered that they also had a seasonal pistachio latte, I wish I had ordered that instead because I thought the matcha latte was just okay. It was pretty smooth matcha but not sweet enough for me. I used to be a meringue hater until I had actually good meringue that is crispy and melts in your mouth, so I was excited to try their raspberry meringue cookie thing but it wasn't quite the texture I imagined it would be. Well it also has yogurt in it so maybe that's why the texture was not like your typical meringue. It was low key making me a meringue hater again lol Okay I know so far it seems like I didn't really enjoy Tatte that much, but the roasted salmon bowl was excellent! Right when they bring it out to you, you are met with incredible aromas from the dish. The salmon is perfectly cooked and is slightly crispy on the top. At first I was worried about the low salmon to rice ratio, but it ended up not being a problem because the rice is well seasoned. I probably honestly could have very well enjoyed just the rice even without the salmon, that's how good the rice tasted! I didn't get it this time, but I know their pistachio croissant is good here. Overall I like Tatte, great service and great vibes. I'm still sitting in here to write this review lol, I mean I look around and there are several others who are also working here on their laptops. Two restrooms at the front of the restaurant behind the counter where you order your food. Bonus points to this location for playing Kina Grannis' song "In Your Arms" wow what a throwback!!! Another great Tatte in area the macha and lamb shakshouka are my go tos they have so much on menu and service is usually very nice and fast. Matcha is nice and rich with milk but bitterness of the mach balances it out giving it depth. The lamb shakshouka was nice and savory with a tomato sauce and eggs. The lamb was nice and tender with good seasoning. It is a classic coffee breakfast place inside with pastries and a ton of different drinks.
The drinks here are delicious and so are the breakfast items. We went here twice during our short weekend trip to DC. First time we got the lamb hash and I normally do not like lamb, 10/10. Second time we got the traditional shakshuka also a 10/10. Whoever recommended the fig lemonade in the below comments, may your pillow always be cold. It was delicious! The coffee here was solid too and my kids enjoyed the Nutella and short bread cookies. Omg I just found out they are opening a location in Morristown NJ. Yes!!!!!

A spacious cafe with nice selections of bread and pastries. Their food options are really nice also. It is quite popular and busy, but the service was nice. There are counter seatings along the window, a large communal style table, and 2 tops. All the seatings don't give you much space in between, but I was there with my daughter and we went there for brunch before heading to museums so it was okay for us.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. If I could give it 0 stars I would... I am Amazed by how bad service was. I ordered a Lamb Meatball shakshuka with eggs well done. They sent shakshuka with soft eggs, which specifically requested not to do because I'm pregnant and cannot eat eggs like that. They took my plate, 20 minutes later they send the wrong order... I go back again and then they just give me the previous order they kept in the kitchen for 20 minutes, cold and just threw 2 eggs on top and gave it back to me like saying "don't bother" as if they were making me a favor... I am the client, I paid for my food and the least they could do was to provide the food requested and at least provide a good service. It was a horrible experience and what saddens me the most is that Tatte was my favorite restaurant... not anymore.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe has simple but beautiful interior. The breads, pastries, and cakes are displayed in an organized way, allowing customers to have a clear view of the selection. I got the plain, chocolate, and pistachio croissants, kouign-amann, and iced ginger-date oat milk latte. The pastries tasted good. They had good flakiness and were buttery. My drink had strong ginger taste than date. It was not bad. The bakery gets crowded and busy fast. I would come back here again.
The Tatte bakery is spacious and has an upscale vibe. It's a great place for a quick coffee. I ordered the flat white and it was nicely prepared and smooth. There are also a variety of baked goods. Service was fast and they bring the coffee pastries to you. This location is newer.
We came here for a late lunch on our last day in DC, and it was one of the more memorable meals in the city. The best item, by far, was the preserved fig lemon mint soda. It was so good, we went back for a second drink. Refreshing and super flavorful! For food, they were sold out of the turkey avocado, so we ordered the chicken pita and the leek / potato / spinach quiche. I've never had a quiche quite like this before...it was full of veggies and had minimal egg, but it was really enjoyable. The chicken pita was really great too, and I'm glad we tried it. The low points were the black sesame latte -- too minimal on the black sesame flavor. And the desserts we tried -- pistachio cherry tart and a passion fruit krembo -- were dry and just not impressive, respectively. However, the menu is vast, reasonably priced for DC, and they have multiple locations, so I'd definitely come back.

Such a cute brunch spot for a rainy day! Service was quick. The interior's crowded, but there's ample seating. I wish the food tasted as good as it looked. The passion fruit krembo just had a pea-sized drop of passion fruit curd in the center. Pistachio croissant felt stale and lacked pistachio flavor. Minus the super bitter aftertaste, I actually enjoyed the taste of pistachio syrup in my latte a lot! I'd come back just for the pistachio latte :) read more

This is my third location of Tatte I've visited and I can honestly say Tatte never disappoints. I got a Shakshuka (lamb meatball), and for a cold winter day, it was warm, comforting, had a good amount of spice, rich tomato-y flavor. Bread was baked fresh and came a bit buttered so it went well with the soup. Of course they always have a plethora of pastries to choose from and amazing coffee as well. Plenty of seating, even some counter seating, indoors and outdoors. Servers are courteous and wonderful, and your food is brought to you once you are seated with a number. read more
This place is very nicely decorated and there's a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. Got the shackshuka which was good but it should have came with more bread. The croissant was good but it was a little cold still. I also wish they would have given us the option to heat up the pastry from out of the case and maybe would have put it on a plate instead of in a bag. Fun thing, we weren't even going to come here when we started out our walk. We intended on going elsewhere and were distracted right in front of this spot. I am delighted that we got distracted or we may not have had such a great lunchtime break. This location is lively and bright. You kind of feel like you are descending into a subway stop with the tile on the wall and just how busy it was inside. At lunchtime it can be extremely busy in here, a line can form but they make light work of orders. Grab yourself a menu when you enter and that way it can go smoothly when you get to the register. My order was placed and I was given a number to place on my table. This is for the food that will be prepared in the visible kitchen. However, if you order a sweet or a drink, you will get that to take with your to your table of choice. You can sit inside or opt for an outdoor seat, we chose inside. I was half tempted to eat my sweet while waiting for my food, but I held the line because I wanted to save that for the end of my meal. I chose the Turkey B.L.A.T. off their menu and was pleasantly surprised. Consisting of turkey, bacon (of the applewood smoked variety), lettuce, avocado, and tomatoes in the version of a relish with onions. A hint of siracha aioli on an inhouse multigrain bread and this is a filling sandwich on its own. When I finished one half of it I had to take a moment before finishing the second half. Service was swift when bringing the food. They were also very polite. After the sandwich I moved onto the sweet finally. I mean I had been eyeing it since placing my order. The Chocolate Sandwich was alluring and had me as soon as I walked in. Finally able to take a bite and I was over the moon. The icing in the middle evens out the tartness of the chocolate crackers making up the sandwich. This, paired with the iced black tea, sweetened to my liking, was an appropriate ending to my meal here. read more
This cute bakery & cafe is only a short walk away from Union Station in DC. It is easily a must-visit location if you are in the city. My favorite item here is the Croque Madam: ham, Gruyere, and egg (your style - scrambled, sunny-side up, etc) in a housemade croissant topped with Mornay sauce. Delicious! The Turkey BLAT or Breakfast Sandwich are also solid options if they run out of Croque Madam for the day. As for drinks, I love the Matcha Latte or Chai Latte. Whether you want to order dine-in or takeout, you start by placing an order in the front. If you opt to dine-in, you get a stand with a number to carry to whatever open table you choose to sit at. It can get quite crowded here in the mornings! Someone will bring the food to your table if you opt to dine-in. If you order to go, they will package the food and place it on a shelf of takeout orders where you can visit to grab your item(s) yourself. read more

Food was very tasty. The place is clean and very friendly. It's bright and roomy inside. I found a spot with a colleague up against the window. We both enjoyed a late breakfast. I had the Croque Madame described on their menu here: "CROQUE MADAME* - $13.85 Housemade croissant, ham, Gruyère, and egg your style*, topped with Mornay sauce." and a cup of coffee. The food was very tasty and my colleague enjoyed her meal as well. Food was priced right - not expensive and well worth it. Portion size was perfect, just enough for me to feel satisfied. The service was great - it was easy to order and the workers were very kind, courteous, and helpful. The staff keeping the inside clean and available were working very hard. Wiping off table, sweeping, and ensuring the next set of customers had a place to sit and enjoy. The store was clean and very large, lots of room to find a place to sit. It was a bit noisy from all of the people inside, but I expected that so no big deal. read more
Tatte has become a recent fav. They have multiple locations throughout the greater DC area. I have come to this location a couple times now. I order the salmon and avocado tartine almost every time although a lot of the menu also looks good! Of the pasties I've tried, I really enjoy their pistachio croissant. Great coffee here too. I've enjoyed a plain oat milk cortado. The workers typically are diligent. I see more friendly faces than not. Chill, warm, and slightly vibrant vibe to hang and eat with friends/fam, go solo, or do some work/reading. read more
Today, we decided to dine in for breakfast. Despite that, we received our drinks in disposable containers, which was a bummer as drinking tea out of real mug is so much nicer. Our tartines were good... the crust was a bit hard to cut with the provided knives, so be prepared to do some work. While some of the tomatoes on my tartine weren't completely ripe, I really enjoyed the flavors and would order it again. read more

The Tatte Bakery & Cafe has a nice reputation for their bakery and that's why we came here. The decor is fitting and really matches the ambiance of the place. While we were here, the volume is very loud and it's difficult to hear the person in front of you. However as others have pointed out, the customer service is abysmal. I ordered the breakfast plate and when it finally came, it was cold. I brought it to the manager's attention and he seemed unfazed by the situation. He asked if I wanted it remade and I declined and promptly asked for a refund. I wouldn't recommend Tatte Bakery & Cafe for breakfast but their pastries are very good. I also wouldn't come back again because of the lack of customer service and lack of acknowledging their mistakes. read more
Decent sandwich, bakery and coffee here. The place is always packed and sometimes there's a long line. Sandwiches here are high quality. The bread is freshly baked and sliced. They have some gluten friendly options, but they do not have a gluten free kitchen. Their chocolate chip cookies are huge and buttery. They don't have a great spot to wait after you order your food. I always feel like I'm in someone's way. Nice ambiance here, and nice spot to sit and eat if you can find a table. Restrooms are nicely stocked and clean read more

While breakfast menus can sometimes be limited, it feels like there's something for everyone on this one. There's pastries and other sweets, sandwiches and other savory options, salads, egg dishes, caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks, etc. I ordered the salmon, avocado, and egg sandwich. It came out fast and the service was friendly. Would highly recommend this sandwich if you're hungry - it's not served on a huge roll, but the contents are piled high and everything on it is delicious. And at ~$12, it's kind of a steal considering there are brunch places that would charge twice as much for the same sandwich. read more
I've written about another Tatte location in DC before, and it wasn't that good of a review. But this latest trip to DC, I stopped by this location and had a much better experience overall. What drove me to try Tatte again after a poor experience at another location, you ask? It was the quality of the food itself, which was absolutely on point on this visit. The fact that it js one of the few spots in Capitol Hill open semi-late for a coffee shop, is an added bonus. Given the lunch options in the area, we decided to come here early on a Sunday afternoon. While there was definitely a significant line at the door, we ordered and found a seat in the cafe easily. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We both ordered soups: chicken noodle and a roasted lentil, and one of us a chicken salad sandwich and the other a farro bowl. Soups were just right. Chicken salad itself was delicious, but the bread was a little on the heavier, drier side. The farro bowl along with the roasted lentil soup were both good, too. On another visit, we got a croissant , which was moist, absolutely perfectly buttery and smooth all the way through, yet not too sweet or dry. Definitely a good snack spot or lunch cafe. read more

I found this on Uber eats on a whim!!! I went with the turkey croissant sandwich. It was the best turkey croissant sandwich I've ever had!!! It was so huge!!! I added an egg to mine which made it extra juicy!!! Additionally I ordered a latte was great as well. Next time I'll visit the restaurant to see how the service and ambiance are. I go to this Cafe purely for the vibes. I live catching up with friends here and sometimes trying out their seasonal drinks. I ordered the black sesame latte (hot) for the first time and loved the taste but felt that it was just the tiniest bit grainy, which might have been on purpose I'm not sure. I also tried the shakshuka for the first time and I actually really like it! It was basically a fancy tomato dip that I very much enjoyed. read more

My fiance and I loved this cafe so much that we visited 3 mornings in a row during our stay in DC. Each visit I sipped on a hot matcha latte. The linzer cookies are buttery and crumbly with raspberry jam filling should not be missed. It gets pretty loud in here and seating is first come first serve so get here early! We stopped in at Tatte bakery after some work meetings, having been my first time I was so impressed immediately by all the sweet treats on display and the rich smell upon entering! This location in particular was busy and loud around 12pm on a Wednesday. I loved my latte - delicious flavor. The ham and cheese croissant could have been a little warmer but also had delicious flavor. My husband had the short rib sandwich which he said was ok. I would come back for a coffee and pastry rather than lunch, but we did not venture very far into the full menu. Lovely spot! read more

My friend and I visited for breakfast working session, which turned into lunch. We received excellent customer service whenever we interacted with staff enjoyed our food! Before leaving, we ordered the tomato soup, grilled short rib cheese sandwich and chicken salad, all of which were top tier. The ambiance was chill/quiet for the most part but the noise level increased with foot traffic. Tip: the bathroom is near the front of the restaurant :) read more

The ambiance screams nice baked goods! I ordered the apple almond cake. It's definitely a cake to eat on a cold, crisp day. The apple cake was bursting with flavor and the almond gave the cake a balance nutty flavor profile without overpowering the apple. The customer service was friendly. Treat yourself! read more
Tried the breakfast here for the first time. The coffee is good, the house latte is unique with the addition of cardamom, wouldn't get it every time but worth trying. The food was pretty disappointing. The breakfast sandwich had very little bacon and the few pieces were thin and tiny, yet it was still very heavy because of the cheese, butter, and huge sourdough bread. I'd prefer a brioche or croissant for a breakfast sandwich. Didn't love the cheese on it and overall was very disappointed with this. Also tried the almond croissant which wasn't as cloudy/soft as most croissants but the flavor was great and the almond chunks are my favorite. It's a crowded/noisy type of café but the ambiance is cool, definitely ok for a coffee and maybe a quick bite. Probably could've used the ~$20 better somewhere else in the city. read more
I usually go to Tatte for a morning coffee, latte or whatever caffeine I need to get my day started. Last Saturday, I decided it would be nice to spend sometime in the coffee shop. It was lovely weather outside so I grabbed a table outside and ordered a chai latte and a smoked salmon, avocado and egg sandwich. It was very good and tasty - a nice healthy meal. I also love their pastries, they taste fresh and delicious. If you're looking for a quick coffee spot, someplace you can study/work, or for a location to have a quick meeting over coffee Tatte is your spot!! read more
Always clean and reliable, I see Tattes as a general response to Starbucks and I am here for it. Their food is great (this time I had the chicken salad), they have lots of seating, and they are in prime locations. This Tatte is better than most of the others because it has seating/tables indoors and outdoors for larger groups of people or spreading out for work. read more

Ordered the salmon and rice at Tatte and was really disappointed. The salmon was bland, the rice was extremely greasy with oil, and the whole dish lacked any flavor. Definitely not worth the price. read more
You ever go into a restaurant that proliferated so quickly you're almost ready to dislike it because you're so cool and just generally misanthropic? Just me? Tatte is exactly what it sells itself as and I appreciate that in a restaurant. I got the house latte with oat milk, I loved it. I got some weird passion fruit dessert I had never heard of, I didn't love it because I didn't ask what it was and when my mouth learned what it was, it was not happy, but it was definitely a well made version of whatever it was. That's not on Tatte, that's on me for ordering something just because it had passion fruit. I also had the croque madame. The croissant was lovely, the ham plentiful, and the egg sunny. My only disappointment was the mornay. It was kind of glommy, chunky, and cold. I should've gotten the shakshouka. The staff were so nice. I was all goofy and confused and last minute decision making and they were livery affirmative of my life choices. I went at noon on a Tuesday and the place was pretty packed but I found a nice seat by the window bar and was able to work there for about two hours before I had to catch a flight. The prices are high, but you're not here for diner coffee. Enjoy the fancy coffee, get a sweet nosh - ask what it is the folks are nice, maybe avoid the mornay. read more

I don’t think so i only saw people on their laptops inside.
How wheelchairs accessible is your business is it ADA compliance?
not accessible. they only offer stairs. you could sit outside on a nice day and have a friend go in and order for you but that's not making their business accessible.

They are wheelchair accessible! They aren't street level but there is a lift there.
