It appears everyone had the same idea as tables were a bit cramped, but the interior had plenty of open spots. I ordered the brisket nachos as my entree, but they are truly meant to share. They were GREAT. Loaded with brisket, cheese, lettuce, fresh salsa, jalapeño, and radishes--an interesting touch that just works for the dish. My partner ordered the Fontana burger and said it was also excellent; he really loved the Fontana sauce. The fries were perfectly crispy. Naked margarita was good, too! read more

I'd like to start off by saying their staff is super kind. Cassandra, who likes to go by Cassie was our server. She was so kind and amazing to us. She bonded with us and we had a great time. We're from Chicago and we traveled to see Hamilton that was splaying at the Murat theatre right by the restaurant, every other place to eat didn't sound or look appealing to us but Tavern at the Point caught out attention. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend their turkey sandwich. The fries were amazing and as a potato lover, I'm pretty picky. The restaurant was very clean, along with their bathroom. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by their bathroom. It's cozy, clean, and you feel welcomed by the amazing staff as you walk in and walk out. I'd love to come back. It's a must try. Had a great experience eating at Tavern at the Point. It's right on mass ave so there is a lot to do before and after dinner. It was pretty quiet when we went and we got our food pretty quickly as well which is always a plus. I got the club sandwich with added pickles and it was great! This is probably one of my favorite bars to go to throughout Indianapolis. It is so low-key in the vibes are amazing. They have amazing bartenders. They actually take the time to get to know who you are and they will have your food and drinks ready then in there. Plus the food is so amazing! I always get the brisket nachos. I wanted to like it so bad! We were disappointed with almost everything except its ambience. This is a place I pass by all the time and has a really cute patio with ample seating. We came here for a quick meal and got the fried cheese curds, turkey club, and grilled cheese. Sadly, less than half of the fried curds actually had cheese in them...the rest was fried dough! I would describe the grilled cheese as a elderberry jam and ham sandwich; similar to the curds, didn't know where the cheese was! The "turkey club was good, but nothing special." It was a gorgeous day, so we sat outside and everything was lovely. Not only our server but other servers were incredibly kind and friendly. There was this fun, wholesome atmosphere to the outdoor area as other patrons were also very friendly. The food itself was great; We mostly got apps or light plates. I got this incredible Asian-style salad with a side of coleslaw; it was delicious. I feel like I got some heavy taste of mustard in the coleslaw and mixing the two turned out to be a dreamy concoction. This is one of the easiest five star reviews I've ever written. I'm not in Indianapolis frequently, but I would definitely go back to Tavern at the Point if I visit again anytime soon. First off, the niceness of the staff from the moment you're greeted is wonderful. If you're fortunate to visit during nice weather, you're in for a treat because of the large outdoor dining patio, and especially the high quality tables, chairs and umbrellas. So many restaurants skimp on outdoor furniture, this was just the opposite, top of the line and super comfortable. I chose an Indy favorite for lunch, the pork tenderloin sandwich. It was the savory and hearty sandwich that I expected. I didn't feel like fries, so one of the options for a side was guac and chips? I love it! And just to put icing on the cake, Tavern at the Point is also reasonably priced. There's nothing not to love about this gem. read more

I went here for a dinner while traveling for work and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service! I had a Gin and Tonic and an Espresso Martini and both were delicious! For dinner, I enjoyed the fish tacos with the chips and guac and found it to be pretty standard but tasty! I sat at the bar and was able to enjoy my meal with some pleasant conversation with the bartender! It wasn't terribly busy and the service was fast. read more

I hadn't been to this location in years. I think it was Old Point last time. Anyway, it's a great location on Mass Ave. We stopped late on Saturday night after a show and they were able to get us seated outside quickly. They have a really nice patio and it was great to sit out and watch people wander by. We only had drinks. They have specialty drinks as well as a good selection of beers. Staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner menu looked interesting so maybe next time. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. read more

We stopped in here just for a drink after a night of dinner and walking around Mass Ave. Let's just say they spare no alcohol with their cocktails. I had the blood orange sparkler and it had quite the punch. It paired well with our perfect seat at a bar style table that outlooks Mass Ave. If you are the people watching type, make plans to sit here and spend even 30 minutes on a weekend. First, shout out to our server Christian. He was maybe the best server I've ever experienced! He told us that he's worked at several restaurants and that this is the first one he can say that he (and everyone) truly love EVERYTHING on the menu. His passion was evident and he even brought us a plate of extra sauces once we'd received our meal, just so we could try them. We ordered the Big Fontana Burger and the wings appetizer. I truly never order wings, but I'd heard they were excellent here, so I couldn't not get them.. right?! They lived up to the hype and I loved the ranch sauce and pickled cucumbers and onions that came as a side. Next, the burger. It was UNREAL. We shouldn't have been surprised since hey, it's the same company that also owns Bru Burger (our favorite burger spot), but we were impressed nonetheless. The fries had an excellent seasoning on them too. The menu was on the smaller side, which my chef friends say is proof of a great chef (less options mean that the chef has most likely mastered them all). Next time, I'm going for the pretzel bites and Salad Bar salad too. The manager even thanked us on the way out and there was four cool bar seats that looked into the kitchen (a mini chef's table if you will). We left more impressed than we had even expected to be. The rum & coke was the best I have tried in Indy but I'm not even sure what was different about it. The patio at sunset was the best vibe for a Saturday night with super cute lighting and tables. Stopped in on a busy Friday night and were surprisingly seated pretty quickly. The inside is quite small, but there is a little patio that wraps around the side. The service was pretty fast, and we started off with an appetizer of cheese curds. They breading was good and the sauce (bbq aioli) paired well. For entrees we got the fontana burger (waitress recommended) and the fried pork tenderloin. The burger was good, but nothing special. The menu boasted a special "fontana" sauce on the burger, but to be honest I couldn't even taste it. The pork tenderloin was actually really good though! It was fried to perfection and had a nice mustard sauce to top it off. We split each entree half and half and both finished the tenderloin but left a good bit of the burger. The price was also a bit on the higher side for "pub" food, even on Mass Ave. Domestic bottles ran ~$5 and a 16 oz craft beer was $7.50 (unfortunately the prices weren't listed on the draft list either). Overall, decent spot with fast service but the inside was a little small and the food was good but nothing special. read more

I had never been here before last night. A friend and I went to Mass Ave with plans on finding somewhere to eat for his birthday. The indoor seating space isn't large -maybe 10 tables? But there is open air patio seating available, weather permitting. We opted for seats at the bar. The Bartender was very friendly, attentive, and immediately filled us in on the drink and food specials for the day. I wanted something lighter than a sandwich or burger (which filled up most of their one-page menu), and ordered the buffalo cauliflower wings. My friend got the turkey club off a recommendation from someone who seemed to be a regular. The food came out within half an hour, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the portion of wings was more than generous, and definitely fit the description of a true appetizer: meant to be shared. The club was pretty tasty, just not as filled as you might expect or want. Prices were a little high, as anticipated, and par for the location. My husband and I stopped in to this place one day on a recommendation we received from another Mass Ave business owner. It was the middle of the week in July and we weren't expecting much. All I knew was that I heard the chicken sandwiches were excellent. Well, I can't believe I've been asleep in regards to coming here! It's not a huge restaurant, kind of tucked to the side. You don't even realize it's there unless you're looking for it; the sign is so small. When we came in, our server greeted us and he was THE most enthusiastic guy. It was so awesome. I don't remember his name but remember that he was fun to talk to. So, with it being a tavern, of course beer is what I was looking for. They have specialty brews that come from local breweries all around the state of Indiana and I was so pleased to see that a brewery from my hometown area was featured the day we stopped in. (Region rat, here). I know that one of the beers was even made with Albanese gummies from one of my favorite candy stores - Albanese candy! HOW COOL IS THAT?!?! We ordered food to share, chicken sandwich included. It was soooo good. My chicken sandwich was cooked to perfection, the Mac and cheese (with pimento) was super tasty and the bbq shrimp wrap was good too. I'd love to come back here again and visit. I loved my experience at Tavern at the Point! I had gone to support Dine our for Life, so it was actually my first time there. We tried quite a bit of food while we were there too and it was all so delicious! We started with the soft pretzel stick, hardly ever a mistake with salty bread ya know. They were so fresh and warm it made them so yummy! I went with a turkey club and fries and my partner went with a burger and fries. Both of our entrees were so good and again so fresh! We didn't even have to wait very long either, but I was still just very impressed. Also the fries were so good!! Super thin and crunchy! Also I had the prettiest blueberry lemonade with Tito's ever and it was very tasty! Clearly we enjoyed our food too much to stop and take pictures (rookie mistake I should know better) but we did get one outside after. The service was also quick and efficient and our food was really good. I had the hot chicken, which was not all that hot, so if you have a low spice tolerance, it will not set your mouth on fire! The Eagle's Nest had almost a 2 hour wait, so we walked a little bit down the street to this establishment. The vibe of the place was nice. We couldn't wait inside because of max occupation...but they let us order drinks and take them out there while we waited. Margarita was OK. The outside patio had like 5 heaters. They were all on full blast. I would've preferred them to be turned down a little, but not a big issue! Cheese curds were good. Our group got 2 orders and they were pretty big. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. It. Is. Hot. I had to scrape off a lot of the sauce. If I knew it was sauce and not a breading, I probably wouldn't have gotten it "hot". The chicken itself was OK and I wish I wouldn't have gotten the chips with Guac--they were sub-par. The Mac and cheese looked awesome. I am a total nacho snob. So believe me when I say the brisket nachos are amazing! The brisket is tender and delicious. Add some beer cheese, jalapeños, pico, radishes and lettuce and you have a hit! I'm seriously impressed! Try them! I also loved my burger and pimento Mac and cheese. The burger is served with two thinner patties, delicious sauce, shredded lettuce, bacon and pickles.
