The croissant was fresh, still slightly warm. There are several other offerings that I will eventually get around to trying. This downtown location is less congested than the Evanston location. They opened their first US location in Irvine CA back in 2008. There use to be lines out the door at that location and it was my fav place to go to whenever I was at Cali! The pastries were so fresh and drinks were so good! At this location, they also make thier pastries here fresh as well! My favorite is the milk and taro bun! Some other pastries can be too sweet for me! I like the texture of their breads too with how soft and fluffy it can be. I don't ever find the pastries to be dry! I got the red grapefruit drink which was a bit too sweet for me even when I asked for no sweet but it was decent and refreshing. 85 degrees is known for their perfect temp coffee! It actually is the best temp per the founder to brew and serve expresso! I learned this back at the Irvine location. Try the hot drinks in winter...rarely will you find the drinks too hot! I would say try the sea salt coffee! Those had us hooked before! Ambiance- spacious place! This place is so big like NV locations. Lots of options with the baked goods!
