    Little coffee shop bakery!
    Janet M.

If you are ever in the area, this is a must. We drive an hour for our cakes, and I must add that the coconut tres leches flavor is divine. The staff is always super nice and friendly, providing excellent customer service to all customers. They consistently go above and beyond. Today, I didn't have an order and just showed up; she was super nice and got a cake ready for me. Thank you! The cafe is quite spacious but not particularly inviting for dining in or sitting down. It's a typical post-COVID cafe that focuses on pick-up and go. They do have seating available, but it's not as inviting for actually sitting down. I 100 percent recommend Kristoffer's; you will not be disappointed.

Caramel, chocolate, and chocoflan tres leches cake

This place continues to be my go to for Tres Leches cakes on birthdays, and everyone I've bought a cake for absolutely loves it. Try this place out! You will not be disappointed

We came here for a quick slice of their tres leches and some coffee to sip on. The place is cozy with just a about five to six tables. They have a variety of tres leches cake slices to choose from and coffee. We wanted to try their caramel tres leches but unfortunately they were out so we shared a slice of their coconut tres leches. I will admit it's a little pricy at $5 but damn, it was ok tasty slice. When it comes to tres leches, I like the cake very moist. And very soggy. Usually more towards the bottom and drier towards the top. That's always been my preference, but this slice was moist from top to bottom and executed perfectly. It was topped with coconut flakes and tasted delicious. They have chocoflan and other flavors that I wouldn't mind trying next time around. I also had their Mayan Hot Chocolate and it was also tasty. It had Mexican Hot chocolate with espresso from Intelligentsia. In the fall and winter months this is the way to go. When I come back during the summer, I'll be trying horchata latte which is only served cold. I'll definitely be returning soon.

All the different flavors for tres leche cakes

The Tres Leche cakes are to die for! I came here to get a tres Leche cake since I was told by a friend that this place has the best. We arrived early on a Friday, and it was busy despite the sitting area seemed to be closed. We also got some tamales, quesadillas, and burrito breakfast. I'm definitely adding this place to my favorites list.

They have the absolute best pastel de tres leches. My co-worker first bought me a slice and I have been ordering birthday cakes from there ever since. Their Choco-Flan is also amazing, a must try.

Completely overrated and kind of disappointing with the eggy aftertaste! its family owned with minimalistic décor and not a wide selection. I got an assortment of Tresleches after contemplating getting the whole cake which was priced much higher than my usual favorite Greek town desserts. I wont be back!

    Vanilla tres leches cake

I got the vanilla tres leches cake after hearing so many good things. The cake itself was so moist and spongy. It had soaked up the perfect amount of the condensed milk/ tres leches and wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. It felt really light to eat despite being such a large cake. I would definitely go back and try some of the other flavors for the tres leches cakes.

    Huevos Rancheros

I was never a fan of tres leches until i had Kristoffers. I usually stop in for breakfast, I usually get the Huevos rancheros. Just the right portions and the coffee is good too!

Unfortunately for us we were a table for 3 and despite having mad that reservation weeks in advance were placed in what was obviously just 2 two tops pushed together. And not in the main atrium area. Look it was still a beautiful atmosphere and our company made it a lovely evening. Why don't they have a liquor license here? Ok the food. The burrata salad, so nice and summer fresh. We also had the crispy artichokes meh. What saved my night was the chicken salad. The crispy bits...amazing all through the salad. So good. Let's talk dessert, the butterscotch crème brûlée so good. Coffee and a port wine.... Good, but where is the cheese board. This place would benefit from real liquor and a desert cheese board. I mean I must believe that RH has a cheese board on offer somewhere. Anyway, nice evening and decent food in a mostly lovely place.

We originally swung by on a Friday night, but it was far too loud and bustling. Given the nice 1940s or 50s decor, adding some acoustic art panels would make a huge difference in cutting down the noise. Every time we passed by afterward, it always looked packed. However, we finally got a chance to experience it properly last night, and it did not disappoint. The smoke tomato pizetta, nuts and olives, daiquiri, cafe martino, and service were all fantastic!

It is a vibrant, modern cafe staple known for its standout bakery items like their Strawberry Cream Croissants (that looked incredibly decadent), artisanal coffee drinks, and reliable breakfast sandwiches. They do have some gluten-free baked options like the pistachio muffin my wife enjoyed. Also, they have non-bread breakfast and lunch options if you are gluten-sensitive or celiac. The place is popular, based on the queue that went out the door when we went there over the past weekend. Due to its proximity to major downtown attractions like the Art Institute and office buildings, long lines will happen during morning work rushes and weekend peak hours. But it's worth the wait. For my money, the chocolate croissant, stuffed with rich chocolate mousse, is class, and will ensure you won't go hungry. At all. In fact, I had half of it in a Ziploc for two days, and it still tasted amazing. The chocolate mousse alone will give you a rush that will send you blasting into outer space. Their morning sandwich was pretty good with scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, avocado, and tomatillo sauce on toasted semolina. Although, admittedly, I was full from also indulging on the croissant, so I had leftovers. Their coffee drinks are also divine. I went with their Vietnamese cold brew, made with condensed milk that I enjoyed immensely. If I worked in the area, I would be coming here quite a bit.

I ordered 5 coffees one morning, and all the register guy did was write a few names on some cups and placed it down. I understand tipping culture is a divided topic of discussion, but at the end of the day, it is OPTIONAL. After pressing the skip button from what I believe to be non-tip worthy service, he threw a fit and said "Wow you're serious? After I did all that?" Meanwhile all he did was write names on cups. Now I would understand if he was the barista working hard to pump out the coffees, but two lovely ladies were in the back doing that. He shooed me and my friend out of line as we were still processing what he just said. The next customer orders and he had the audacity to talk about us to them while we're 5 feet away. Delusional as he was, he had the nerve to say we were holding up the line and made him do "all that work", and I could promise you, we knew exactly what we wanted to order the second we got up, and took no longer than 45 seconds. We also witnessed he got into it with another customer, so it seems like he's the problem here. Most wild service I have ever received, all for some milky coffees. I ended up tipping the lovely ladies in the back though. Be warned. There are much better spots.
