I work in the same plaza, so during my lunch break, I opted for boba over food and stumbled across this establishment. First off, they sell boba ice cream bars (they were sold out when I went, not that I could buy it anyway since I was on my lunch break). This is located inside a grocery store. So once you walk in, the counter to order is straight to the back. They have a limited menu, but I find most places like that serve the best tea. I opted for the roasted milk tea with boba and I loved it. When it's roasted, the milk tea has a more robust flavor to the tea and is enhanced within the flavors. Absolutely loved it. Talk about a hidden gem. Situated in what used to be the location of Tenju Tea House, Tea champ is definitely the champ of teas. This newly operated business prides itself on their fresh ingredients and impeccable service. I came here because it was a recommended spot from a friend. I originally did not have high expectations, because SoCal has been populated by numerous boba joints, that a new establishment popping up wasn't surprising. I was originally hesitant to grab a drink outside because being on the Ketogenic Diet meant that my sugar intake is limited. However the blistering heat of our beautiful California weather coerced me to go out of my way for some refreshments. Having forgotten the name of the tea bar my friend recommended, I struggled to pinpoint the location. After what seems to be an interminable trek up and down the 99 ranch plaza, I finally caved and contacted my friend again for the business information. After a quick and glib conversation with my friend, I was once again back on my journey for the magical elixir of a refreshment (as described by my friend). He informed me that it was situated inside Champion Gourmet, but isn't that where Tenju was before they moved? Is he talking about Tenju? Did I waste my time coming here for nothing? Upon entering Champion Gourmet, to my surprise, there stood a simple and quaint tea stand where the former Tenju used to be. I was greeted by a smile from their staff, and she proceeded to ask me how my day was and if I needed assistance on the menu. I told her I was on a low sugar diet, and immediately she threw out some recommendations to me. Talk about attentiveness. Upon listening to her recommendations, the Kumquat tea stood out to me, and she ameliorated my selection by informing me that was also her favorite. I ordered the Kumquat Iced Tea with 0% sugar. Eagerly awaiting for my drink, I decided to make this place a yelp page just to facilitate and make it easier for my fellow yelpers to discover this hidden gem whether it's good or not. But the service itself is definitely top notch. After a minute or two, my drink was ready to go through my taste test. Approximately 2 or 3 sips later, I reached my verdict. 1) I will give this place the amount of stars it deserves 2) I will give an in-depth review of my experience here 3) I will be coming back here throughout this season we call summer to alleviate my body from dehydration. "No Tea No Life." I couldnt agree more! When I first got introduced to Milk Tea, the Jasmine Milk Tea was my go-to beverage. As I started venturing off to different flavors and feeding my guilTEA addiction, I noticed the Jasmine Milk Tea in general was not the same flavor as it was compared to my first time trying it. Today, I relived that day-one moment when I tried their Jasmine Milk Tea at this location. The drink is tasty and FRESH! Not too bitter and not super high on sugar. It wasn't overly sweet like most boba shops. Everything was great, from the tea, sweetness and topping. You can definitely taste the roasted tea in here. It's gives it a sorta nutty flavor or roasted rice profile. Kumquat green tea - this was also refreshing, recommended at 50% sugar level. Just came to tea champ today for the first time for an iced lychee green tea and rib eye chips. The person working had 3 people waiting. He processed the next door workers order prior to ours although they were last in line. As a customer, I do not think it was fair. This worker kept his customers waiting for a friend who worked next door. Terrible customer service! As a fellow manager, management, please follow up on the gentlemen who was working at 5:45pm on 5/30 and not attending to the store's customers properly. We come here VERY often but never did a review. We love Tea Champ. There are plenty of tea places in this area but this is our favorite. The tea is much more flavorful compared to others. Our favorite is their champ milk tea. Not sure what's in it but we are addicted to it. They only have it on the weekends and we make best efforts to get it every weekend. The team there is very friendly. They even make recommendations on what to try and suggest sugar levels to ensure you are getting the best taste of the tea. The shop has no seating just wall up ordering. Besides tea they also sell a variety of treats and snacks...from chips, to dumplings to jerky. Its so hard to find grass jelly made without sugar but thank you Tea Champ for offering it. You can taste the quality in the drink and another bonus is they have mini agar pearls. I incorporate keto to my diet and these toppings are perfect! I got roasted milk tea(milk isn't keto friendly but I saved my carb intake for this) and I literally finished the drink before we hit the road. I came here twice. I think they actually use real tea instead of sugar powder like Quickly. I really wanted a Lychee milk tea but I was on a Non Dairy diet and I couldn't take too much caffine either. The Barista recommended Honey Aloe Green Tea. She said she could use water instead of tea to remove the caffeine factor. I decided to have her use half tea amount. She recommended 30% sweet. It came out great. I sat there for a while on their couch. It was nice and quite and comfortable. On the menu, it did not say that the roasted milk tea automatically comes with grass jelly. I did not like the weird after taste of the grass jelly or the tea, and wouldn't come back here if it wasn't because I tried my friend's order. My friend got a passion green tea which I enjoyed.
