Hands down, my favorite FAVORITE FAVORITEEEEE boba place in the area. First, they only have one size here - LARGE. And the prices are a steal. I'm used to paying $4.50 to 5.00 for a normal sized boba so getting a large for that price is a total turn on for me. Their milk foam is HEAVEN. Like absolute droolworthy, perfect balance of creamy, milky, savory, frothy and sweet. I love topping up a cold brewed tea with milk foam to even out the flavors and textures. Also a huge Plus for the sexy foam stache you can make if you choose to pop the lid off and sip on the foam. The tapioca boba add-ons are always Fire, super fresh, super chewy! Their milk foam oolong tea is a crowd favorite and my go to choice whenever I come here. Also. This is the first boba place I've been to where I feel like they don't dilute their actual teas and milk teas with water and ice and the first place where their drinks aren't sickeningly sweet. Basically it's a you get what you pay for place and a super honest spot to get your boba fix. The flavors and strength of their teas are on point. The aesthetics within the cafe is on point. Employees are SUPER nice and helpful. Bonus points for actually serving food here to chow down with your bubble tea if you're feeling a little famished. Also, note i think they have a $8 credit card minimum if you choose to pay in card so always opt to pay in cash when I'm here which is a little annoying. read more

ahhh i finally had the chance to try their house chicken bun and it did NOT disappoint! don't walk, run to try it. the chicken is dark meat so it was tender yet perfectly crispy. my only suggestion would be to reduce the amount of mayo on the sandwich... it's a lot. the real taro milk tea with crystal boba was amazing and tasted so fresh. will be back! read more

I've pretty much tried all the major tea chains from Taiwan and mainland and this has to be one of the better ones. The tea is well brewed and the boba is perfectly cooked. At 50% sugar, the drink is just right for tea lover. The only down side is that the cheese foam was a bit thick and the tea couldn't go through. Otherwise other menu options like the milk teas, not pictured, were very delicious as well! UPDATE: the boba is still fire and the grass jelly has a subtle herbal flavor which I really liked. I came here for boba late in the evening around 9-10pm! I wanted to see what was a popular place for tea in Ellicott City and I landed upon this spot. Tea Top is a Taiwanese based bubble tea shop with some popular Taiwanese dishes as well such as Lu Rou Fan (minced pork rice) and Taiwanese popcorn chicken! Inside is pretty spaceous but seating is limited since it seems to be a really popular spot. I wanted to try something new so I got the winter melon alpine green tea. My friends ordered the mango green tea with boba and the lemon green tea with crushed ice with boba. The winter melon alpine green tea was good for my liking, but to my surprise that it wasn't sweet at all compared to my friends drinks. This wasn't an issue for myself or might be a one off situation, but keep note that this drink is not very sweet at 100% sweetness. My friends who got boba were told they needed to wait 20 minutes, but the odd part was that all of our drinks were in the same order, but the lemon green tea came out maybe a good 10 minutes after the mango green tea in the same order that also had boba. The lemon green tea was surprisingly tart and sour (didn't expect it to be that sour despite seeing limes in the cup) and had a ginger after taste. The women's bathroom was out of toilet paper, even though a restaurant might be busy, I think it's important that facilities are stocked for customers to use. read more

Stopped here in the middle of a long drive. Let me start off by saying that this boba place has more drinks than I have ever seen. The variety is so great they have everything from slushees to hot teas to special cloud drinks. Every single drink we ordered tasted great and fresh. The only comment I could make is that the pearls are very soft not giving you the expected chewy effect. Other than that one comment everything else was delicious. Regular offerings are no different from Kung Fu Tea that's now popping up everywhere like a teenager's pimples. However, their unique Sun Moon Lake black tea is a flavorful tea that beats any other tea places nearby hands down. Not even Gong Cha, with its very good tea selection, can beat the Sun Moon Lake tea in flavor, so that's what I'd suggest. I usually go to Teado for popcorn chicken because they're way better, but recently they seemed to have improved a bit so give it a try. Only gripes are there are no diaper changing stations in restrooms, and when they get busy the tables aren't wiped clean. read more

The shop is headquartered in Taiwan and this is only one of two locations around on the US east coast. The selection here is great and they lean more towards the traditional options of milk tea and fruity tea. Unlike some bubble tea shops, they really follow through on their sugar levels so you are not still wondering why your 30% sugar bubble tea tastes like it is 100% sugar. The place is also very insta-worthy as they have a cute section of a wall full of flowers on the right as you enter the shop. In addition to drinks, they also sell sweets such as brownies and macarons, as well as savory meals, including Taiwanese popcorn chicken and braised ground pork. After moving to Baltimore, it has been really difficult to find a bubble tea place that tastes good AND serves milk foam tea. My search for milk foam tea is over. I got their #8 top drink, Milk Foam Oolong Tea ($4.25) and it was delicious. I really appreciate bubble tea shops that do not dilute their tea so much that it tastes like water. We also got an order of Popcorn Chicken ($5.50). Very generous portion and the Popcorn Chicken looked fancy with curry seasoning, garlic and deep fried basil. However, it was not as crispy as we wanted it to be, considering that it just came out of the fryer. You can do a combo with a tea. If you get one of the "TOP" Ten drinks, you can't make it a combo but instead have to order them as separate items. They have many drinks to choose from. It's amazing how they have accommodated for COVID-19 precautions. No customer is allowed past the corridor, there is hand sanitizer right there. All orders are made right by the door or online. All staff are wearing masks that cover their mouths AND nose. lol The restaurant just looks spotless, contemporary, and it smells awesome. Oh and the pearls taste like fresh pastries. Uhh....look I'm down to give a second chance because the actual flavor of the tea itself INSTANTLY won me over. First words out of my mouth when I took my first sip were "Wow, yeah I'm a fan", but that sentiment quicky changed. As I continued to drink I discovered smaller bits of what I can only assume is the milk powder they used for the drink. I got this pretty much EVERY sip after my first, and I posted a pic of the biggest one I found. I'm lucky it was probably only milk powder but I still find this unacceptable. If the powder is getting to the point of deposits like this it makes me question the quality and expiration of the powder. Furthermore if this were something else this could have been a lot worse and the seeming lack of care to notice if something like that ended up in my drink isn't inspiring. Maybe I'm being whiny, but finding that stuff in my drink and initially thinking it was plastic or something really killed my initial enthusiasm. My girlfriend also got a slush drink and we found that to be maybe a little too heavy on the ice. This one I'd say is a bit more bit more nitpicky since it did get better later as the ice melted, plus y'know...it's a slush. The taro felt like a mushy sweet potato mixed in with my tea, which was definitely not my favorite. The bubbles were a bit smaller compared to other bubble tea chains, and only a small amount was given. They felt overcooked and a little soggy, with just a little chew. One of my favorite bubble tea places! Now that bubble tea has gone mainstream, there is a lot of competition in this industry. One of the only drinks I get are mango green tea. I tend to go and try different tea places and rate how well I liked their version of mango green tea. Tea Top is by far my top two favorite places to get mango green tea tied with Tea-Do. The sweetness is always just right and it tastes so fresh. Usually the wait isn't too long but if you go at night during the weekend, prepare for a pretty long wait. The only reason why I give it four instead of five starts is because I wish they had lychee jelly or other favlord as their toppings are limited. Bubble tea here is delicious. It has a different taste than other bubble tea shops. In a way it tastes a bit more authentic, though their teas tend to be very sweet. I have a big sweet tooth but I always cut the sugar level down to 50% and it's still just as sweet, if not sweeter, than my normal order at Kung Fu Tea. Syrup in the tea is thick and flavorful. Would recommend shaking up your tea after you receive it, since the syrup tends to settle towards the bottom. I only ever get the Mango Green Tea now. Love how there are bits of real mango in it. The only down sides of tea top are: (A) there's only one size (the equivalent of a large), and (B), they ran out of boba/pearls the last few times I've been there. They try to make more on the spot, but that boba never ends up having any flavor. Other than that, Tea Top is a fantastic boba shop. read more

Not your average boba place!! The flavor of the tea is truly excellent here. It's never lacking. I imagine this is more authentic, though I wouldn't know; I've never been to Taiwan. I've had the Earl Grey Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, and Signature Alpine Green Milk Tea. Let me tell you that the Earl Grey Milk Tea is the BEST BUBBLE TEA I'VE EVER HAD. I'm so serious. The depth of flavor is amazing. Pearls are cooked right too. I will warn you ahead of time that the Alpine Green Milk Tea has a bit of a different taste than your typical green milk tea or matcha milk tea. It has a stronger, more unique flavor. Taro w/ Pearls - This was a very unique taro. It had chunks of taro in it. It reminded me of the rice pudding that a few cultures have but in a drink. When I took the first sip it was a shock because you're not expecting chunks of Taro in your drink. As least I wasn't. It wasn't bad. If you're not used to it you may not favor it.
