This review is of Team Thompson in Long Beach, California owned by Karen Thompson. Any positive review of Team Thompson must be a shill writing a phony review. The best way to sum up TT is that they work only for "Don't call me until the flood hits your knees" slum landlords and then embraces and takes on that position and attitude for them. I unfortunately live next door to a TT managed property and several of the tenants are simply out of control. Noise constantly late evenings and into the morning. One has a dog that is never on a leash and has attacked several dogs and people. Unfortunately again the City of LB does not take and active position until it bites someone. Karen Thompson is a fraud as a property management person. When presented with the "nightmare" her selected tenants heave onto a neighborhood she responds with call the police or call animal control as she knows they will not respond or she simply states its being handled or that they are moving. Which they are not. Good luck if you have the misfortune of owning property next to one she manages. We have been renting the property for about 10 years now. While we have had needs of certain repairs, they do come out for clogged drains, etc. We recently needed new bathroom fixtures, and they put in a better, more functional faucet and drain plug. Much better. Also, when we had broken window in the living room, I brought up the fact that we also needed a new bathroom window that worked. Once I was able to coordinate a day for Nick to come out, he showed up with new panes for the living room window and a new bathroom window. Then we had a leak in the water heater, which meant we didn't have hot water. Nick was able to fix it within a couple of hours of my phone call. He started contruction work at my Place, took our money ( paid via check) , paid materials and we never received them. He never showed up, finished the work or responded. Team Thompson! Shout out To Mr.Nick, My bathroom Faucet was running water constantly thought it will stop if I'd tighten the knobs Lol no luck. Made a phone call to Team Thompson left a message they got right back to me. I absolutely love this company! I've dealt with them 2 times when I needed to move and both times they have always been easy to work with! Their quick response to questions, in need of help, or letting me know what's going on is always appreciated! About a few months ago the place I'm living at now has changed to another management company and they are a nightmare dealing with. It's like dealing with a toddler that doesn't have a clue. Per the administrative side in regards to viewing available units, this company needs improvement. I had a viewing scheduled today at one of their units, I arrived 20 mins early and waited another 15 minutes after appointment time. And no one ever showed up. I also called twice just for my calls to be sent to voicemail. I honestly dont see whats so hard of showing up to an appointment that they said they'd be able to make. read more

Terrible property management. When we first viewed the house before we rented it, it looked like a hoarder previously lived there. It was filthy and nobody had done a thing to it, probably since it was built. I was assured it would be painted and everything fixed properly. It was my fault for not really taking a good look once it was done, and I loved the neighborhood, so I didn't really realize how bad it was until the day we moved in. It was still so dirty, and they didn't even paint everything like they said they would. I once again told myself it wasn't a big deal, and tried to be excited, but then I saw roaches!!! My husband immediately called, but of course nobody contacted us until the day after. They tried to blame us for the roaches and said we probably brought them in with our boxes. Umm no, I've never had roaches in my house in my life. They finally agreed to send someone out to take care of it. I had assumed it would be a professional, but instead a young kid from their maintenance team came and sprayed the outside of the house. The roaches are inside, how is this going to help? After 2 more weeks of living with roaches they hired a professional and it took 2 weeks and 2 times for them to spray to get rid of them. Both times we had to pack up everything from our closets, cupboards and all that. After we just had moved in! Any time we needed something fixed, which wasn't often, we would have to wait weeks. I stopped even bothering with them because of the creepy people they would send out. After a few month of living there, around 5 am one morning someone knocked on the door and was looking into my windows. I called the police and they said it was just a homeless woman. A couple of days later, she had all of her bags on my front porch, and was watering my lawn. I asked a few neighbors about it, and found out she used to live there and was the ex stepdaughter of the owner. I found her belongings in my backyard and garage, and she kept coming at all hours of the night. After telling team thompson about it, I found out the owner had a restraining order against her and they told me to get one. No apology or mention of this crazy person when we signed the lease. I think we should have been warned about a homeless lady trying to get into the house! The final straw of moving out was mold. My daughter had a cough for over a year, and the dr couldn't really give us a reason for it. He said maybe allergies, maybe asthma. After living there for 10 months, I had a baby and she immediately had a cough and was congested. Again, the dr couldn't really tell me why. This went on for months and she was never sick, but had a chronic cough. After going in the bathroom and investigating I found mold next to the bathtub. Instead of getting rid of it before we moved in, they just put a plastic strip over it to cover it up. When I mentioned the mold to them, they just told me to spray a mold remover on it. I was horrified and hired someone to check for mold. The report came back that it was in the carpet, in the walls, in the air ducts, everywhere! And speaking of the air ducts, he said they had never been cleaned in at least 15 years and there wasn't an air filter!! There wasn't central air, but we did use the central heat almost daily. We moved out a few days later, and they had a sign up for rent the same day. I'm pretty sure they never fixed any of the problems and I'm hoping whoever is renting the house on Albury Ave, on the corner of Stearns in Long Beach will read this and get it all checked out for your health! read more

I would like commend Team Thompson Property Management for the fine work they have done in managing my property. As a owner, the hardest thing to do is take care of additional property when family, career,and life all happen at once. Team Thompson helps make this more bearable. I have had to deal with tenets who have made false accusations about mold, mildew, trying to avoid paying for damages to the property they made, and literally, moving out in the middle of the night. I'm tired of ex tenets who have come back for whatever reason (mostly money, they think is due). Team Thompson has made owning much more simple. They take care of the small day by day problems & anything larger, I'm notified immediately. I always get several vendor quotes from them to make my selections for repairs. Team Thompson is best for me when it comes to tenets. The interviewing, the background checks, the day by day dealings can drive one to drink (as any owner would know)but Team Thompson handles it in stride, no matter what. I'm also notified of any problems or situations that arise. I wanted to submit an application for a rental they advertised on Zillow on Monica St near Hawaiian Gardens, CA. Instead of being sent the correct link to apply I was emailed the link to a different house on Harvey Way in Lakewood, CA. Colleen told me she would change it and that I would receive an answer by Monday, March 5th. Anyways, I received a report that was headlined Monica but when I clicked on the report it was for Harvey Way. She called me shortly after and said the owners went with another applicant that was better qualified. So I asked questions as to the reason and she got rude quick. She didn't have any answers for me. She wouldn't even let me ask if the report was properly submitted for the right rental. She just kept rudely cutting me off with, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. The house had been on the market for 50 days. I truly believe they just wanted our application fee of $60. I've sent her an email, maybe, she responds better that way. Will update once I get a response. In the meantime, run & never look back! read more

Team Thompson has horrible customer service. Whenever you call, their office staff is unable to answer any questions or provide any assistance other than to take a message. Then no one returns your calls. You literally have to call and harass them to get anything accomplished. You have to call repeatedly and beg for repairs. They will tell you someone will come to your house to do the repair but no one shows up. On the rare occassion someone does show up, the repair people are sub par. Besides not being able to properly repair things, leaving messes, their vendors are unprofessional. I have caught them drinking beer in my front yard when they are supposed to be working. All of their vendors look like low class crackheads I don't even feel comfortable letting into my home! This is absolutely the worst property management company I have EVER dealt with in 20 years of being a renter! Avoid at all costs!!!! They are slum lords. Also, if you are a property owner, do not use this company! They will let your house rot into disrepair. They do no property upkeep. read more
