This is one of my go-to locations for Teaspoon since it's so close to where I work. It's a great place to get a drink after grabbing food in the Pruneyard Shopping Center. Customer service is always really friendly and they're very accommodating with drink adjustments. The default option for dairy based drinks are lactose free, which allows all the lactose intolerant milk tea lovers to still enjoy a drink. I prefer fruit drinks and I love the variety of drinks they offer. My go-to drinks are the Grasshopper and honey oolong tea (which is the dairy free version of the Liquid Gold) with crystal boba. There are often seasonal drinks too. Most recently there was an ube drink that many of my friends really enjoyed. The Raspberry Mojito that was sold over the summer was also so delicious, but super pricey. In general, drinks here are a bit pricey, but I think they use quality ingredients. If you register your phone number, you can gather points to redeem rewards. Had to try this boba place because my teenage daughter was with me and it's boba. We had lunch at Buca di Beppo and she saved room for dessert to hit this spot right next door. I laughed at "Handcrafted Specialty" because wow! Boba has gotten so fancy now. The establishment is clean. The staff was friendly and polite. It isn't noisy and loud like other places. This definitely is a step above the rest. The selection is limited compared to other boba chains where there are 173 different flavors. Teaspoon has about 20. I like that they have hot options. They don't have popcorn chicken or egg waffles. Just dessert drinks which is great. (Those other places are just so overwhelming with their food choices and no one ever leaves.) My daughter ordered her favorite flavor: traditional milk tea with boba. She said the boba tasted fresh therefore she gives them 5 stars. At first as I was ordering it I thought that it was going to be too sweet but after trying it and stirring the honey and caramel around I was pleasantly surprised. The drink was perfect, not too sweet and had an amazing richness from the whole milk. I would recommend getting this drink if you like drinks like brown sugar or milk teas. If you like more fruity drinks I would suggest getting the silky mango. The egg pudding is really just up to preference as some people don't like the texture. Finally a boba place in Pruneyard/Campbell! This location is near the Pruneyard Cinemas and Orchard City Kitchen, not the Trader Joe's side. They often have one or two samples at the cash register. Also, their menu on the screens are not the full menu; I spotted a paper menu by the cashier which listed some drinks I didn't see on the screens (ex. the marshmallow milk tea). People are friendly here, and the decor is adorable! The marshmallow milk tea was perfectly sweet at 25%. I also recommend the Grasshopper for a super refreshing drink! Love me some bubble tea! My favorite from this location is the grapefruit garden with lychee jelly added. Its a bit expensive at $6.35 but very satisfying. I always get it with no added sugar and lite ice and they follow instructions well (unlike starbucks where they always add sugar to my sugar free drinks). During my commute home today from Watsonville, I got stuck in rush hour traffic by the time I hit SJ. Having a hankering for boba, and figuring it would be more productive to wait a bit for the traffic to die down while enjoying a drink rather than slowly inching forward in bumper to bumper gridlock, I took the next exit that I arrived at, loaded up the Yelp app for nearby boba places, and realized that I was just a block away from a Teaspoon. Being that Teaspoon is one of my favorite chain boba shops, it was a no brainer that I would choose them over any of the nearby competitors. Located in the back corner of The Pruneyard Shopping Center, this little shop is a bit hard to find and certainly not visible when driving down. If you're parking on the Bascom side of the parking lots, you'll have to walk past Bucca di Beppo, and turn left before you hit Asian Box. When I arrived, the place was surprisingly (or not surprisingly considering all the coronavirus fears lately) empty and only had 1 other patron. I placed an order for the Grass Hopper w/ boba, and the very kind cashier rang up my order and had my drink ready for me in about 5mins. I loved the taste of the Grass Hopper and at less sweet, felt they made it just right. And as I've come to expect at all Teaspoon locations, the chewiness and texture of the boba was spot on. We don't have a Teaspoon in SoCal so I was super excited to try this place. I wanted to see what the NorCal boba connoisseurs thought were good. The joint just opened so everything is still fresh, clean and new. They offer samples near the register. They only have around 4-5 tables. This is still our "go-to" Teaspoon - great service, drinks and a nice atmosphere to visit with friends. The reason I'm changing my review from 5 to 4 stars is the change in their reward program. In reviewing how much we were going there (and spending) since both the boba quality and rewards program were outstanding we are now trying other boba establishments. I sent an e-mail to their corporate office a few weeks ago but did not get a response and it seems I'm not the only customer who's not happy with their NEW rewards program. This is one of my kids favorite boba tea spots. They have the best, just right texture of chewiness! Most of the time their boba is consistent in its chewiness. The tea is also consistent in sweetness as well and the kids don't have to adjust. The other thing is they have different flavors combos that the kids like! My favorite is called the Grasshopper with cucumber and mint. My daughter's is the lady bug with passion fruit jade green tea and kumquat juice! How delicious are these combos?? And of course the trusty jasmine milk tea with pearls. Another one that is often ordered is the liquid Gold. We have an oolong tea fan and anything with cream gives it a richer taste. We often go to this location but the one in Santa Clara is yummy as well. They are pretty consistent with their drink combos which is awesome. The grasshopper at the Santa Clara location is much greener. More food coloring or something? It's often very busy at this location more so than the Campbell one. But they try to get the orders and drinks out as soon possible. The only thing I would say they could improve on is over the phone ordering. I tried doing that sometimes when I'm on the way to something and just want my tea ready for pickup. I think I have to have my name on their list and credit card number or something for them to take my order. I don't really understand why that's necessary. I mean, most people will want their food or drinks if they order. Bakeries and restaurants do over the phone orders all the time. I don't mind paying over the phone. But what is this name list or whatever. The girl that picked up the phone that time didn't explain it clear enough but since my name wasn't on the list I couldn't make the order. Blah~ It's almost seem like deterrent for customers not to order over the phone. Like they'll do it but they'll make you go through hoops and loops so you actually rather not. If you like pina coladas from a place with boba acclaim...I tried my best to make that work. Not sure if it did. This Teaspoon is located in the north-east corner of Pruneyard Shopping Center. There are directory signs along the perimeter of the plaza if you need help getting around. The menu was the same as other Teaspoons with shaved ice, drinks, and a lot of toppings to choose from. Unlike other Teaspoons, they had samples of tea that you could help yourself to. The first one was a toffee black milk tea which definitely had that toffee flavor and was silky smooth. The second was a white grape tea that was super refreshing. There was a sign that indicated they were both at 50% sweetness which was kind of surprising to me because they tasted really good and I just kind of assumed it had to be the sugar. I ordered a pina colada which comes in one size. I decided not to get any toppings since I just wanted something cooling that I could sip on. It really was a blended tropical paradise and tasted well, just like how a pina colada should but better since it didn't have any rum marring the taste. I normally don't like my drinks with ice in it but this place is an exception. I must declare this Teaspoon joint is a really huge hit among locals including me. Tried the Sangria drink and it was perfect, not too sweet and not too icy. If there is too much ice then I might not feel good later.
