    Ube Vietnamese Coffee
    Deanna F.

I decided to go with something outside my boba norm and ordered the Ube Vietnamese Coffee. I loved the strong coffee flavor, but didn't really get much of the ube flavor and warning, this drink is SWEET. I know Vietnamese coffee is typically very sweet but this was almost undrinkably sweet...I think I could have asked for an adjustment on sweetness preference and in retrospect should have, but had no idea this drink would be straight sugar. I do know this place has great boba tea options, I'll stick with those next visit.

The girls were so nice and quick. They had the cutest merch. The caramel cream wasn't my favorite compared to drinks I've had before, but it was good. The coffee macaron was my favorite. The seating is a nice option.

Another visit to Teaspoon! I have convinced my kiddos to tag along with me for my weekend hike up the hill as long as we can walk over to Teaspoon as well..... The new K-Pop series of drinks are pretty fun and my youngest loves the keychains that come with them. Staff here continues to be extremely friendly, I always chug a water while the kids inhale their sugar explosion. Lately the inside has been all decked out for fall and Halloween and it looks great inside. Great job on the decorations and even the fall specials. Keep it up Teaspoon!

This was my second visit to Teaspoon, and I have to say--they are by far my favorite boba spot in Reno! Usually, boba drinks are way too sweet for me, but everything I've had at Teaspoon is perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. An added bonus: they're located in North Valleys, which is super convenient for us! The first thing I tried here was the Black Sugar Assam, and honestly, it was magical. The flavors are rich and well-crafted, and the black sugar boba itself is fantastic--soft, chewy, and full of flavor. This time, we brought our kids for a special treat. My daughter is obsessed with the K-series drinks and is determined to try them all. We went with the Idol Ube Latte, which not only looked stunning but was also absolutely delicious. The staff are always super friendly, and the ambiance is fantastic. This visit, the shop was decorated for Halloween, and it looked too cute! If you're on the hunt for high-quality boba with great flavors, Teaspoon is the place to go.

    Tiramisu with boba

As close as it was from my house I really had no inclination to try it until recently when my son introduced me to a couple of their drinks. One was called the Tiramisu and it was oh so good. They made it to my liking, where it wasn't too sweet. It tasted exactly like the name, Tiramisu. The second one was Thai Iced Tea but with boba. It was also delicious but the boba was a little underdone, the middle of the boba was still hard. I decided to try the iced tea again without the boba. As soon as you walk in the counter to order and surrounding that counter are knock-knacks you can purchase. There are a couple of tables on the left side for people who decide to sit and enjoy their drinks. The place is very clean and adequately lit and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and were ready to make your drink how you want it. It seems they intermittently come out with new drinks and I'm willing to try some of them.

I usually don't write reviews for big franchise drink spots like Teaspoon--after all, they're pretty common and predictable. But I was genuinely surprised to find a Teaspoon here in Reno, which honestly feels like the middle of nowhere when it comes to specialty drink options. I wasn't expecting much, but I'm glad to say this location exceeded my expectations. What really stood out to me was the honey boba. A lot of places just serve the standard, flavorless tapioca pearls, but not here. The honey boba was actually what it claimed to be--chewy, flavorful, and not overcooked. You can tell they put care into getting the texture and taste just right. It made a big difference in the overall drink experience.

Pleasantly surprised to find that there's a Teaspoon in Reno! I'm not sure if I've just been down on my luck, but I haven't been having much success finding a boba spot I approve of in Reno. Teaspoon is located quite a drive north from where I was staying, but it's 100% worth the trek! The drinks are very standardized in comparison to other chain locations, and I really enjoyed how flavorful and well-made the milk tea drinks were. The drinks we ordered contained REAL taro, black sesame, and ube, which is seriously such a treat. The workers also offered us free macaron samples, which were surprisingly well-made. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area for some high quality boba! Featured here: ube astra taro lover starlight sesame

I came here on a Monday and they were busy! I ordered a Guana Sunset and a Classic Thai Tea. The man taking my order was very nice with everyone he served. He was letting them try samples and answering all their questions. It's a small space, but I got my teas quickly. I love boba teas and usually go for a classic Thai and I am so glad I did. The flavor was spot on. Not too sweet, but sweet enough. The boba had the perfect amount of chew to them. I got the Guava Sunset for my kid and I decided to try it. It was so full of flavor and something I have not tried before!! I would reorder both of these drink again. It's also a lovely place to have in Stead. No more driving to town for a Boba!! It costs around $13 for both teas which is fair and in line with other shops!!

I decided to get some boba from Teaspoon since it has been a while since I have ordered from them since their opening. I went on Wednesday around 1:30pm and they were not very busy so I was able to quickly order my drink and they started to make it right then. It took me no more than 10 minutes for 2 drinks. I love how it looks very bright inside the store and there is a small area for seating. I ordered the Matcha Royale and Golden Brew both with boba. I got regular ice, whole milk, and 100% sweetness on both drinks. The Matcha Royale was good with the matcha flavor and not too sweet. The Golden Brew tasted like an ice coffee. Also not too sweet, but also not too bitter. However, the boba in both drinks were hard in the middle like it was not cooked long enough. Usually boba does go hard after a certain amount of hours, but the boba I got was already a little hard and within 2 hours the boba got completely hard and did not take taste good another. Overall, the drinks were good, I just wished the boba was as well.

At the back of the line but in a rewarding group all the same!!

Rude service when we arrived BEFORE closing 5 minutes before approx. The manager was present and allowed the two employees to exhibit this behavior and didn't correct it or appease us - 4 drinks ordered between two orders. May not return! I think Yelp needs to adjust this stores closing hours to 9:55pm and also they do now allow orders in their app 30-minutes before closing. Thanks for the "amazing customer service" you're trained to provide, Daniel R (as shown on my receipt). You made a long time customer - one who has been there since your grand opening, feel important enough to come back. It'll be a while again before I do no matter how much I want it. Any retail business is a fool if you don't allow even a last second order. Your P&L suffers when you don't. And it will now.

Who doesn't love boba?! I heard about this place from a friend of mine and I just knew I had to try it out. My first impression was wow, it's super clean inside and the menu options were phenomenal! I love that their drinks aren't the usual boba drinks you find at other places! I ordered the dirty ube and the golden brew. You can definitely taste the coffee but, I felt that it could have been sweeter. The boba was tasty and I highly recommend. The price was definitely on the higher side compared to other boba shops in town! Overall, the visit was great and the service was good. I would definitely go back if I'm in that side of town!

We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

In my opinion, it wasn't enough. There was a steady flow of people, and she couldn't keep up with orders and customer service. We opted for two small scoops of ice cream for the kids: chocolate and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We also ordered the sizzling blonde brownie sundae. It was about $20 for three items. The ice cream was very good, especially the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Very unique flavor and great texture. The blondie was a bit of a letdown. First, the blondie was not "sizzling". It wasn't even really warm. Only placed in a waffle iron for a few seconds. Second, it seemed very dry and crumbly, maybe even overbaked. I thought the ideas at Black Rock are fun, and I think trying one of their milkshakes should be my next visit. However, there are a lot of great ice cream spots in Reno. For just ice cream, I think there is some heavy competition.

YELP REVIEW PROMPT…read more Checked on Yelp for a dessert spot that I haven't tried before. Sierra Nevada Creamery and Bakery was a quick four minute walk from our lunch spot so we thought why not! It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. I enjoyed it and that is what makes me want to return to try the chocolate chip cookie.

I was surprised to see this place as I've driven by this strip of businesses many times and never noticed this particular spot. They offer homemade treats, but mostly ice cream. They have an almost unmatched selection of non-dairy ice creams and sorbets. A nice surprise. The gentleman helping us was very nice and gave us a full rundown of how they make everything in house. He offered samples and suggestions. I sampled the flavor of the week, Lavender Honey Matcha, and the coconut cream coffee. My kids decided on the mango sorbet and the classic strawberry. Everything was delicious. The coconut cream ice cream had great flavor and texture given that it was non dairy. My wife and I decided on the matcha flavor of the week. It was very refreshing. The strawberry had real chunks of strawberry which is always a treat. My biggest critique is the texture of the ice cream. This stuff seemed very crumbly. I prefer a much more "chewy" or "sticky" ice cream if that makes sense. This stuff was more "dry" and less "creamy". There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. The flavors are unique and tasty and the non-dairy selection is fantastic.

We each ordered a glass of sparkling wine. I added a chocolate rim to mine, which was fun to look at, although it didn't add much flavor. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed watching the flowing chocolate waterfall. Considering how busy the bar was, our food arrived quickly. The crostini were crisp, and both appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The only drawback was the volume of the DJ, but we knew what to expect as soon as we walked through the door. This is definitely a fun place for parties and groups looking for a lively night out. One last observation: I probably wouldn't choose this spot for a group of men. The décor and overall vibe are very much geared toward women, but the name says it all.
