Combo B, teriyaki chicken, crunch & California rolls
Vic V.

My previous reviews are still accurate. Their chicken isn't as good as it used to be, it's chewy and kinda dry without the teriyaki. The sushi, on the other hand, has only gotten better. I like getting the combo that has both and realize now they give much less chicken than before. Their ramen and yaki noodles are ok, I prefer the yaki over the ramen but neither are bomb. I've never tried the burgers. I keep going because of the variety of options and it's close to my house. The owner is pretty nice too.

Wait was long on a Saturday evening. I ordered the Kyle burger and Ninza fries. Fries were ok and the burger was scrumptious.

If you're craving a teriyaki bowl, but also want a little bit of sushi rolls, this is the spot. They serve a variety of things, but the main thing that hit the spot was the teriyaki combo with sushi rolls. It was worth it if you are not trying to go too far for food. Definitely a local spot. It's a little pricey, but I would come again if I'm craving teriyaki with rolls.

Nice rolls and teriyaki!!!! Wasnt expecting much but really enjoyed it! Price is very reasonable too!

1. The tempura on this sushi roll was fried perfectly! The burger was also comforting! 2. The spot has casual vibes! 3. There are many indoor tables and no outdoor seatings! 4. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! 5. Parking lot is small but not busy! Note: They have ginger and wasabi available upon request! Photo: Dark Knight Roll and School Burger

I just moved to OC, and I'm just trying out the places around my area and found this spot! Food is good, and for a good price! The person who took our order was nice and the ambiance is good! I really love the combo deal I ordered which was only $16! It came with crunch roll and cali rolls (4 pcs each). Would definitely stop by again!

Ninza fries
Sarah K.

Small but delicious! I had passed this place many times and finally got the chance to eat here. I had the ninza fries which were amazing! It seems as though they make everything fresh and to order. The menu has a lot of variety from burgers to sushi so I will have to come back to try something different! Service was friendly and a man who I assume was either the owner or the manager asked us how everything was.

Combo B

Highly recommend the Teriyaki plate combos, as they are delicious and fill you up. I typically get Combo B; their sushi is pretty good. However, other than that, their other food that I have tried are not worth it: -Bacon Cheese Fries: cheese came out hard instead of melty and few bacon was on them. Doesn't look like the pictures they have up in their store -Burgers: Overpriced and tasted average. Minus points for the soggy bun when I got it -Yaki noodles: Were not bad but were not good either Long story short: Stick to their teriyaki chicken combos.

Popcorn Lobster Roll

This place has surprisingly good sushi considering they serve burgers and other things which kinda threw me off at first. I've been getting their baked salmon roll for years, kinda miss when it was still under $15 but I will always support this business. The employees are very nice too. Haven't tried their other stuff but definitely try the sushi, you won't regret it!! Other places stuff their sushi with mostly rice, but this place is mostly filling. Love it

Hadn't been here in over 2 years, but it was still tasty like I remembered. I got the beef teriyaki fries and a California roll and they were flavorful. This place was pretty busy for lunchtime and everyone was trying to do their best to stay 6ft away. I guess I forgot to take a photo of my food because I was so excited to dig in, but it was good!!

From the jump, my friends and I felt so welcome, all thanks to our man Jake, who so attentively took our order. This man was such a vibe and provided top-tier customer service in spite of being short staffed. He always had a smile on this face and handled everything so well, especially the 11pm rush that came shortly after we ordered. I can write so much more about him, but he honestly set the stage for what I think of the best dining establishments I've ever been to. Shoutout Jake! The food? No notes. It was tasty, scrumptious, divine, exquisite, all of the above. That food was made with love and care -- shoutout to the kitchen staff! I got the crispy chicken sandwich and woah, what a revelation! Eggplant on the sandwich? Such a game changer, like some next level stuff here honestly. My friend got a burger and oh my god, I only had one bite, but it was honest to god one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. My other friends got chicken tenders. Tender doesn't just describe the chicken but also the souls who prepared and served this amazing platter. They honestly put every other chicken tender I've had to shame, I'm afraid I won't ever have another chicken tender without comparing it to YoYos. Sides were scrumptious and the sauces that came with them were so good too. I don't know how they did it, but the soft drinks had something special too. Nothing disappointed, I'm telling you! I wish I took more photos of the food but it was just so good that I didn't have time for that. I had such an emotional experience eating here, and I wasn't under the influence or anything -- it was just that good! I could preach to the choir and write a whole song (maybe album) about how amazing my experience was here. It was so magical, I nearly cried thinking about how lucky I was to eat here and break bread with friends. I live in west LA and I would honestly drive however long it takes, even in traffic, just to eat here again. It was simply that good. It's one of those places that you just can't gatekeep because I honestly think a visit here would heal so many traumas and bad days. This was the perfect end to a day with friends, and I will be coming back sometime soon. You will not regret coming here, I guarantee it! If you do, I just think you're lying for clout because I firmly believe this place could not disappoint anyone! P.S. just in case I didn't highlight Jake enough, I need everyone to know that he is the man! The experience would be nothing if it weren't for him. P.S. again: if I were on death row or another situation with a "last meal" type of arrangement, YoYos would need to be a part of that final meal so that I could die so happy and enlightened

We ended up getting the Bulgogi burger, a bacon cheeseburger, some onion rings, and a carne asada fry. Ok. The food doesn't photograph well for your instagram, but it's delicious. Lemme tell ya - after an early morning of flying, we inhaled this food. Would absolutely come back. BEEN wanting to try this place in DTD for the longest time! I noticed that they have a sign posted…read morein the front saying they have a happy hour designated for their classic milkshakes for $8 starting at 9pm! My group and I ultimately decided to come and eat here for dinner and get the shakes for dessert. You order first at the cashier and then they give you a number on a stand so they know whose order is whose. They offer magic key discount here which saved me $3 total! Our food came out relatively quick. Food: Texan Burger (8.5/10): WOW! I absolutely loved this burger. Maybe I was really hungry but wow. I went on Yelp to see what the best burgers were based on the reviews and this ultimately showed up. At first, I didn't want it because of the BBQ sauce that came with the burger but you can substitute it! I subbed it out for their house sauce and it was delicious. Their house sauce is basically a thousand island sauce. The patty was juicy, and was a lot larger than the bun. I got it medium rare at first but then got scared it would be too bloody so I was able to change it to medium. The onion ring soaked up all the moisture from the sauce and lettuce so I wasn't able to get a crunch with each bite. The fries were honestly very delicious when it was hot and fresh but after a while, it was honestly very mediocre. I wish it came with a ranch pairing to dip it in or a side of their house sauce. It also comes with a side of a pickle cut in half vertically and ew. I usually love pickles but this literally tasted like a cucumber drenched in some acidic liquid. I wish it tasted better and thank god I tasted it before cutting it up and putting it with my burger. Cookies n Cream Shake (7/10): I love a good milkshake but this was sooooo heavy after a big burger and fries. It was more liquidy than I liked but there were a lot of chunks mixed into the milkshake. This one is DEFINITELY shareable. I got to try a sip of the brownie and funfetti one since 2 people in my group ordered it. The funfetti one is literally a vanilla shake with a ton of sprinkles in it (which is what funfetti is, I know). They only got this one because it was recommended by the people taking our order. The brownie one had chunks of brownie pieces mixed into it which was something different!

The worst part was that one actually crawled onto me, up my chest, and nearly reached my face before I noticed it. That completely ruined the experience. The ordering process is also inconvenient. Instead of table service, you have to stand in line to order your food, which isn't ideal, especially after finding a table. As for the food, the burgers were very greasy and left us feeling gross while we were still eating them. Unfortunately, both of us ended up with upset stomachs that lasted into the next day. The only positive was that the shakes were decent, but they weren't enough to make up for everything else. Based on our experience, we won't be returning.

Here, we've got buttermilk ranch, jalapeño ranch, chipotle mayo, white BBQ, Hammer sauce, and our fave: garlic toum. Creamy, garlicky, and addictive - we found ourselves dunking everything into it! The vibe is relaxed and lively, with plenty of TVs showing sports and a crowd that's there for good food and a good time. One thing to keep in mind: parking can be a bit of an adventure. I wanted to share some comprehensive feedback regarding a recent experience, aiming to highlight both your successes and areas where further refinement could elevate the customer journey even further. First and foremost, I must commend your team for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked up my order, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. This level of customer service, which often feels lacking in many establishments today, truly sets American Grub apart. It creates a welcoming atmosphere that significantly enhances the overall experience, and I sincerely hope this commitment to friendliness remains a cornerstone of your operation. However, I encountered a couple of points that, in my personal opinion, warrant consideration for improvement. Regarding the payment process, I felt a degree of apprehension about providing my credit card details over the phone. While I understand the operational need to secure orders and prevent potential losses, particularly for larger transactions, for a single item like my bacon cheeseburger, priced at $17.24 including tax, this practice felt somewhat disproportionate. I also noted the 99-cent fee for online payments, which, while minor, might deter some customers who are seeking convenience without additional charges. Perhaps exploring alternative secure payment links for phone orders or adjusting the fee structure for smaller transactions could enhance customer comfort and streamline the process. My primary concern, however, arose upon returning home. Despite ordering a bacon cheeseburger, I discovered the burger completely lacked bacon, as well as any form of sauce or mayonnaise. This oversight had a significant impact on the meal; the absence of these core components rendered the burger quite bland and far from the experience I had anticipated. When ordering a single item, the expectation for meticulous attention to detail is particularly high, as there are fewer variables. Consequently, the overall value of the meal, given the missing ingredients, was not quite met on this occasion. I did reach out to the owner privately via email to discuss these points, and I appreciate their responsiveness and transparency in addressing my feedback, particularly concerning the rationale behind the phone payment policy. It is reassuring to know that your business is open to customer input. My hope is that these observations can serve as constructive input, allowing American Grub to continue refining its excellent service and product quality. I remain a supporter of your local endeavor and look forward to seeing these aspects addressed. Thank you for reaching out. To clarify, all my reviews and communications are crafted solely from my personal experiences and genuine perspectives, not AI. Every word and insight you read is authentically mine, driven by my commitment to provide honest feedback. Even though the review was long..(lol) I wanted to make sure the details are accurate and understandable. Plus I think you and your establishment are great and I wanted to detail that as well Kimberly.
