Been going here since I was a kid. Finally had it for the first time visiting home in years. I go back and forth between The Godfather, American chicken, Mac and cheese and the fries. This time, i got the AC and Mac and cheese. The food is never the problem. It's always good. My only reason its not 5 stars, the service/wait. I know they try hard, but I sometimes order 15 minutes before pickup, and it's one register. They should have two lines, for in store orders and call ins. Five stars across the board. There's a reason the line goes out the door at lunch time. Highlights from my experiences getting lunch here several times- the "Godfather" is awesome. Hot roast beef with gravy and mozzarella on a hero. The cool ranch wrap is another favorite- breaded chicken, lettuce, tomato, ranch and pepper Jack cheese in a wrap. Tip for this one... they tend to put A LOT of ranch dressing in this one. I recommend asking for light ranch unless a ton of dressing is your thing. The fries. Good God. They are literally just crinkle cut fries with salt and pepper but they are the BEST fries for some reason. I don't know why. Maybe it's how they cook them. Maybe it's how they season them, I don't know. Another tip- if you're eating for one, get a small fries, because even a small fries there is enough to share between two or three people. Delicious sandwiches and out of this world fries. Our office orders from here once every two months or so and it's a happy day when Ted's is the choice for free lunch Friday. Our order is usually two giant 5 foot long sandwiches of whatever is the flavor of the day. We've had chicken parm, an Italian combo, cold cut trio, and a few others. Too many to count, but have never had a bad combination. We also always, without fail, get about six orders of fries. To disclaim, I'm not a huge lover of french fries. If I'm eating a potato, it'll probably be roasted. However, these things are amazing. They're crinkle cut and delicious. Always hot, fresh and yes, sprinkled with a bit of pepper. The sandwiches are incredibly fresh - cold cuts on point, produce crisp and colorful, and bread that holds its own in a high quality show. Definitely recommend! read more

I haven't ordered from here in a while but wasn't happy because the pickle juice from the pickles I ordered seeped through the entire bag and into the sandwiches. The bread was soggy. Good spot for a quick bite at breakfast or lunch with a nice variety of offerings. The specialty sandwiches are a good bet and carefully constructed using quality ingredients, the California is a great turkey sub. The fries are just that, fries other then way too much sea salt and the right amount of pepper no big deal. I've been going to Ted's since high school and have always been happy with the experience. They are very consistent with the quality of their food, prices are very affordable and the staff is quick. I try and order something different each time but my go to is the classic American Chicken. A side of their seasoned fries goes well with everything on the menu, or on their own. If you're in the area and looking for a deli I would definitely recommend Ted's. One piece of advice, this location is down the street from Paramus High School so weekdays during the school year can get very crowded, you'd be best off calling ahead. read more

Definitely, my favorite place to get subs. I used to live in Florida and I would rave about Jimmy John's. I was obsessed with those subs. When I moved back up north and started coming here again, I couldn't believe how much I had loved Jimmy J's. In terms of freshness and taste of their subs, they're amazing. The quality of their American cheese... omg, divine. You can order your sandwiches any way you want and they quickly serve you. Their prices are decent and their portions are huge. I love coming here but nearly go broke when I do because I end up ordering $20 worth of food for me alone and eating 2 subs in one sitting. Try this place if you want a great deli! Oh, just an aside, I hear people raving about "The Godfather" sandwich (I believe it's hot roast beef with housemade gravy). Five stars for the French fries!!! I have been coming to Ted's deli since I attended Paramus High School....way back when you had driver Ed taught by one of your phys Ed teachers. Well, we had a cool gym teacher who would let all the kids drive to Ted's Deli and order the special fries. What great memories! Ted's makes all their fries to order....nuclear hot, golden brown, super crispy and sprinkled with a super tasty seasoned salt concoction on top. Next time I would even request extra seasoning, it is that good. Huge portion that they serve in a white Chinese take out container. My husband also ordered a Cuban sandwich, extremely generous portion of moist pork and ham. My only complaint was it was just a regular hero roll... But who orders a Cuban sandwich in an American deli lol? I'm a big fan of the Melrose chicken sandwich, which is the only thing I've tried so far lol. But I'm a big sandwich gal, and luckily this place is walking distance from me so I'll be coming back. It's located right next to Van Saun park, and on a weekday afternoon this place is absolutely popping. Lines out the door, people screaming in the shop. It really gives you a homey feel. I've heard good things about their seasoned fries too, and I was a little skeptical too but after trying them I totally get it. Many people rave about this place, but every time I order here, the sandwiches are always subpar and the quality does not match the price tag. I've had the American chicken, which was nothing special for me. The cheese and mayo ratio on it was too much, it ruined the sandwich for me. The chicken cutlet itself was bland and tough. I've also had the chicken pesto sandwich, the grilled chicken they use tastes fake, and they give you the smallest amount of chicken, there was also a minimal amount of pesto. The fries are pretty good, but I'm surprised it's built such a following. Service is friendly here. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here with other great delis with better sandwiches and better values in the area. read more

I became OBSESSED with Ted's when my old company ordered in sandwiches from here every few Fridays or so. I could wax poetic about their bread alone - soft, yet sturdy enough to support the most dense sandwich toppings without getting soggy and/or falling apart. And the taste! I don't have a refined enough palate to do it justice, but I could eat a loaf of it plain. No butter, no olive oil, nothing. You have to order their American Chicken sandwich. Don't ask questions. Don't ask me why. Just do it. It's a mix of a breaded chicken cutlet, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, and mayo. Sounds simple, so maybe there's a secret ingredient in there that makes me salivate for this sandwich. It was a no-brainer when I chose Ted's to cater our son's 1st birthday party. And it was a no-brainer when I intentionally over ordered for the number of people we had so I could eat leftovers for several days. And certainly don't take my word for it. I'm surprised that Ted's doesn't have a five star rating. I really love this deli. I usually come on a Saturday afternoon and it's ALWAYS busy. Sometimes the line goes out the door; but it is worth the wait. My favorite sandwiches are the The Melrose Chicken and the The American Chicken sandwich. The fries are well seasoned and delicious. A small is enough for two or more people. I really don't have any complaints about this place. If I did it is pretty minuscule. The staff are very friendly. I'm a big fan of the American chicken sandwich and roast beef on a round roll with mozzarella cheese and mayo. The American chicken is a chicken cutlet served on a round roll with melted American cheese mayo lettuce and tomato. It's delicious. They have many drinks to choose from and the service is fast and friendly. I wish they stayed open later but most deli'a close early.
