Cool spot on Mission. I don't know why I haven't come in here before but I had a good time meeting a friend here after work. There were some specials that day - a Tuesday, maybe? - like $1 tacos (they were tiny but decent) and discounted margaritas. We ended up getting some beers on tap and a couple of fish tacos. The tacos weren't much as I said and on the boring side but they were a $1 so can't complain too much. The ambiance and service were spot on. I will be coming back for sure. read more

Came here for Wing Wednesday and was very disappointed in the wings. Yes it's great that the wings are $0.25, but I didn't like any of the flavors and tried them all. The BBQ and Buffalo tasted the same. The natural were fine but nothing special. The Sweet Chili Haberno had good flavor but was too spicy for me. If it was just sweet chili without the habenero, that would have been my favorite. I would give the wings 1/5. Another annoying thing is that part of the wing deal requires a minimum of 2 drinks per person (can be alcoholic or non). So then you are required to spend money even if you were going for the cheap wings. However, the hefe weiss beer was very good We also got the tachos which were the best part. I get the blues in January. I try to fight it, but I'm just not my normal chipper self in January. I guess it's the cold weather, low bank account, absence of the pretty Christmas trees and the second chin I grew during the holidays. But there are glimmers of happiness for me throughout the dreaded month of January, and one of them is brunch at Dr. Teeth with good friends. (This does not help that second chin issue...) I have been to Dr. Teeth for brunch more times than I can count, and can't think of a reason to complain. Well, yes I can. They should see me walk in the door and pour mimosa down my throat and shove tot-chos in my face before I can even get to a table. But other than that, Dr. Teeth is the perfect brunch spot, and one of my happy places. Sometimes people who are feeling down envision their "happy place" and picture a beach in Hawaii... yeah, mine is the patio at Dr. Teeth, where drunkards are tossing bean bags by me while playing corn hole, the sun is shining down on me and I'm knocking back quite a few glasses or champagne and OJ with a buddy. Tot-chos are in front of me and then some kind of breakfasty concoction makes its way to my face and all is well. January is over now (thank God), but my relationship with Dr. Teeth isn't. The tater tots here are amazing!!!!! I want to eat an entire bowl of them. They were covered in what I think was cheese and onions and mushrooms omnomnom. Drinks were standard and ambiance is pretty typical of a dive bar. A friend's burger was super rare though to the point where he could hardly eat it. Eek. Came here on a Wednesday night for their 25 cent wing special after a long day of hiking. Between 3 people, we ordered 4 DOZEN chicken wings (regretted afterwards) and the truffle tots (since they ran out of fries) and we each got a beer. We ordered the bbq wings, sweet chili habanero wings, and the buffalo (original) wings. My favorite of the three were your good old buffalo wings, flavorful and had a nice kick to it. The bbq wings were my least favorite... the sauce was too sweet. The sweet chili habanero was alright, it didn't stand out as much as I thought it would and it wasn't spicy at all, in case you're wondering. The truffle tots was delicious! Tots in general are good, but throw some truffle on it, AMAZING! The wings/drumettes are huge, compared to other place. We made the mistake of ordering too much and ended up having about 8 pieces left. Since the pieces are so large, it's hard to get the center to be flavorful... so near the end of the meal, I just ate the outside since that's where all the flavor was. I probably wouldn't mind paying 25 cents for smaller pieces if they tasted better. I guess you get what you pay for? Overall, you will come out feeling full after this meal. Place gets extremely packed because of the specials. Looking for a seat? it's like the Hunger Games in there! Be prepared to be asking all the tables if they're leaving or soon. Luckily, a couple was willing to share their table with us. If you have a table, you can order from there (which goes by a lot faster) but if you're still scouting for a table, line up with the rest of the people and you'll get a number to put on your table once you find one (this way takes longer). Service can be a bit better, but I guess if you're coming here, you already have low standards for service. My waitress accidently dropped a chicken wing on me when she was clearing the table. I don't blame her since she had her hands full and the place was packed. I just wish she came back to wipe the table... instead we had to resort to using napkins to clean our own table. Came here with several friends to indulge in a bottomless mimosa brunch--something I can no longer enjoy now that I live in Boston. This place was a fantastic setting as their outdoor patio was beautiful on a warm and sunny October day. For my meal, I had the chorizo omelet--which was actually very good and a decent size as well. As for the bottomless mimosa part of the brunch--this was not as wonderful as the rest of the experience. First off, they give you small cups--which I understand--but they don't just leave a pitcher on your table like many other places. Half the time, we had to walk into the bar to request refills and they would come out about 10-15 minutes later. Overall, I really liked this place as far as the food and atmosphere were concerned, however I would not do the bottomless mimosas here again since I have had better experiences elsewhere. read more

This review is strictly for their weekend brunch. Due to the Living Social deal, I decided to try this place out. The bottomless mimosas was definitely appealing. I came in a little after the place opened for the morning and there were a few guests already seated. With that in mind, I was surprised at how slow everything was from placing our order to finally getting our food down to paying. Granted by the time we got out of there the place was packed, I at least expected to get our food faster. Now for the food. My boyfriend ordered the Mission Scramble and I got the Mushroom and Spinach Omelet. But out of curiosity we decided to start off with an order of "tot-chos" (nachos style tots). The tot-chos were decent but after the cheese got cold, it wasn't so appetizing anymore. My boyfriend's Mission Scramble was good but nothing special and my omelet was awful. I don't remember the cheese they used but the texture and taste was so bad that I couldn't even pick around it. I actually really liked this place! Being in hipster central, I wasn't sure I'd like it because it's not really my "scene". I quickly got over that, and discovered they make a mean greyhound with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice! My friends had already ordered the tot-choes. They were actually pretty good! My giant loud mexican family was here on Sunday for Brunch. The staff was super accommodating and patient with our group. The back patio is super chill. We were there for a few hours and had the place to ourselves for the first half. The brunch menu was super enticing. I couldn't make up my mind. I settled on the Wake and Bake grilled cheese. I would stay away from the "pig in a blankets," they were under cooked and the sausage inside seemed a tad raw/undercooked. However my main gripe was the service. We came in late on Saturday for the fabled chicken wings. The bar was at 85% capacity -- crowded but not unbearably so. The music was loud at club levels though, while each TV blared the latest in a Golden State vs whoever game. There were edison bulbs, sequined mannequins, and a shuffleboard table. It's somewhat as if a bro-y sportsbar didn't know if it wanted to go to a club or go to a twee instagram wedding. Our server was unfailingly kind and while also failing to check up on us on a semi-regular basis. We're regulars at challenge-level spicy wings establishments, but the death wings were beyond any possibility of culinary enjoyment. They mostly just hurt. This place had great reviews on Yelp, so we decided to give them a shot. It was a Friday night and they were clearly understaffed. It was over 10 minutes before a server came to give us menus and another 10 minutes before she came back to take our orders. Dr. Teeth has a great selection of cocktails including 60 oz (!) pitchers of some of them. We ordered a round of drinks thinking that we'd probably try a few types of drinks over the course of the meal. However, they didn't bring out the drinks until after our food came out (30 min after we placed our orders). The server kept coming around to tell us that she would bring the drinks soon, but it took way too long for her to actually make it happen. I had the Old Cuban (which was a rum drink) which tasted mostly like the bitters in it and not much else. So far, everything that I've mentioned has been negative; so why 3 stars? The food was awesome! I had the Strangelove burger (jack cheese, chipotle mayo, and bacon) cooked medium with tater tots as the side. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly to medium, and the chipotle mayo really complemented the cheese and beef. The tots were awesome too. I also tried some of the truffle fries and those were nice too (they didn't go too heavy with the truffle oil). The atmosphere of Dr. Teeth's is cool too. We really enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables they had in the outdoor seating area. When you come to Mayhem, it feels like you are at Tonic, but in the mission. It has almost the same layout, but more funky and vibrant. These guys really know what they are doing with all these popular bars such as Bullitt, Tonic, and Rebel. They each have something original about them and that's what makes them so popular. Message to other yelpers, stop hating on the name, I like it. Though I do agree, there should be at least some muppets memorabilia. You will have a good time here, it's chill...they play 90's music...have a shuffleboard...it's usually crowded...a good place to start off the night. Not as hipsterish as elbo room, but it's getting there. I celebrated a friend's birthday here and a bit sad they didn't have the scorpion bowls, but they do have awesome drinks like the mayhem cocktail. The food is very comforting, try the sliders, wings, and tatchos, all solid. Every time I come here the damn hot dogs and crepe stands right outside smell amazing and are hard to pass on. I'll definitely be back and would love to see more upbeat music. This place has a lot of specials throughout the week you should check out. While I like the idea of this place, just like anything in the mission it get swallowed up by the hipster plague. The drinks are great, the food is so-so and the service is something left to be desired. We waited to nab a seat which is completely fine because it's first come first serve for seating. While there tends to be land grabbing for "people coming later" I tend to think that's bullshit. If your friends aren't here on time, they get to stand like the 2/3rds of the rest of us. The atmosphere is very laid back and the outdoor seating is definitely a plus. They have specials every weeknight such as trivia and karaoke I think but you should come for the wings. The Habanero Chili Wings are good buy my favorite are the Buffalo. DO NOT TRY THE GHOST CHILLI. That thing will burn your mouth off. They have Fernet and Jameson on tap which is awesome. The prices are reasonable and the location is great. Bart drops you off a couple of blocks away. The staff is friendly especially Vanessa. It's a great place to check out the game or any event as they have T.V's everywhere and the crowd doesn't get too loud. I love, love, love this place on Tues nights for their Taco Tuesday dollar tacos and half price margaritas, and Wed nights for their 25c chicken wings. This place has been packed every night I've been there, so I'm glad it's finally warm enough to sit outside in the back. I've had their chicken, fish, and veggie tacos and they are all winners but the fish tacos really take the cake. The margaritas used to be better with the old bartender - he would make fancy stuff with cucumber or strawberries, but last time I went the bartender only made standard but mediocre ritas which were not very strong. The wings are delicious. We usually get 20-30 or so for 2 people of the chili habanero, buffalo and bbq wings. They don't allow you to take any extra ones home with you, so if you order way too many the way I usually do, bring a little container with you to take the leftovers - they are great reheated in the oven or toaster oven. DO NOT under any circumstances order the death wings unless you like being in intense pain - I love spicy food but honestly they should not even be on the menu; they are not fit to eat. After eating one, I thought my head was going to explode and I couldn't speak for nearly 10 minutes. Nothing could cool me down, it was too intense! Then on the way home my stomach got totally messed up and I suffered for 2-3 days. Bad news. Stick with the non-lethal wings! Another thing I love about this place is their tater tot bar! I've had the tots with cheese, caramelized onions and russian dressing, and it was so good I decided to recreate it for Superbowl Sunday this year. Excellent combo of flavors. never been in here, but from what I saw this past Friday (8/31), i don't think i ever will. i was walking down Mission a little after 6 PM and saw a couple of guys grappling in front of the bar towards its border with Cha Cha Cha. a little early for that kind of thing, but i tried to go around it. then i heard someone yell "look out" and i turned around to see one of the guys, who turned out to be Teeth's security guard, flip the other guy over his back and bodyslam him into the sidewalk. the guy's head hit the ground really hard, and he seemed to lose consciousness. an employee from Cha Cha Cha next door tried to wake him up, but he didn't respond. someone called an ambulance. the security guard just walked away like nothing. i understand that people get drunk and unruly and angry, i understand that sometimes you have to protect yourself. but the security guard had like 6 inches and probably 50-75 lbs on the guy he bodyslammed into unconsciousness. you can't just jump to extreme violence like that. there are plenty of other ways to get the guy out of your face. if this is how Teeth SF deals with drunk and unruly customers then i really don't think it's a safe place to drink. read more
