I'd say TehranRo Grill was one of the most pleasant surprises I've had in a while, trying new places in Koreatown. I visited with my family to celebrate my birthday on a Tuesday evening, and we were seated promptly, with no wait time. Friendly people, cute little space, but it was the bursting flavors that really made this celebratory dinner unforgettable. We got the beef & lamb koobideh, chicken shish kabobs, and shrimp kabobs. My jaw was already on the floor when I saw the portions--but oh my goodness, everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were so plump that even my picky choosy mom thoroughly enjoyed them! I actually get kabob cravings quite regularly. And to think all this time, I've been ordering underwhelming deliveries from the mid places when TehranRo Grill is just a short 10-minute drive from home? Damn. I've been missing out. I'll most certainly be returning and trying all of the different options. Can't wait.

Nice little place for dine in, with many tempting appetisers to choose from. We decided to try the eggplant delight, it's served warm and it's delicious! The soltani kabob was okay, not extraordinary. Tahchin was only available on weekends so we ordered this too, the baked rice was crispy on the outside and soft inside with shredded chicken in it sprinkled with barberries on top. The persian tea is just hot black tea, I do like it slightly bitter with no sugar. Service is excellent, definitely a five star. There's valet parking available for $4.

At last! Finally tried TehranRo in K Town. Cute little authentic joint with extremely attentive and kind service. Food is yummy! Ordered a combo plate - chicken and beef were both really tasty but I preferred the chicken. Must try!

    What a great story.

Food: This place is Top Notch. 10 out of 10. I am a Persian food Connossieur and this is some of the best I have had. The service is friendly and the food comes out quick and executed to perfection. The vibe inside is modern, clean, and please see my pictures for the backstory of the Korean influence behind this place. You can eat in or I also noticed alot of customers picking up take out orders.

Such a great find. Thanks Yelp!!!! We stopped for dinner on our way to the airport and this place hit the spot. Great service as soon as we arrived through the final check. The food was so flavorful. My favorite was the koobideh kabob. So good. We also got the hummus too for a starter. It was a huge portion and very good. Overall excellent experience and would love to get back soon

Food here was delicious! Hummus is a must order!! Large portion but a little expensive. $26 on average. Service is both quick and friendly! Inside is very clean and comfortable overall.

Solid Persian/Middle Eastern restaurant in Koreatown! I visited this restaurant for an early Sunday dinner and my experience here was pretty good. Firstly, my friend and I were served an appetizer of flatbread and seasoned raw onions. We also ordered a hummus on the side. The hummus might have to be my favorite thing that we had here. It was so creamy and flavorful. It paired nicely with the onions wrapped up in the flatbread. It also paired well with the upcoming dishes we had. For the main entrée, I ordered the Koobideh Combination and it was good and standard. The minced chicken and beef logs were flavorful and juicy. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. Finally, the veggies were nicely charred and I liked how juicy the tomato was. The portion size was also massive. I had to to-go my leftovers which was good for 2 additional meals. For $23, it was a good value for the amount of food you get. The service was also good and our server was friendly and attentive. The interior was also nicely decorated and mostly clean despite being an older building. Overall, a solid experience here. I've had better Middle Eastern food elsewhere in LA, but this is a good option for an area that has predominantly Korean food options. There were also some Iranian families dining here when I visited, so you know the food is authentic.

Vibe: outdoor patio was nice and cozy Service: super friendly, even brought out water for the doggo that was with us! Food: so delicious - big portions, it could easily be 2 meals if I was going home, or you can share with someone. I had the koobideh, so tender!

Found this restaurant through yelp and would for sure recommend. We were greeted and led to a table as soon as we entered. Definitely a welcoming and friendly environment. The food was delicious, lots of good and healthy options. Also loved that the restroom was clean and so was the restaurant as a whole.

This has to be my favorite place in ktown. The food is DELICIOUS. I can eat my whole plate (but I won't feel good doing so lol). My go to dishes are the koobideh combination plate and hummus! I don't know how they get their koobideh to be so tender after being on the grill. Their flatbread for the hummus is addicting. I can eat stacks of it!!! I always leave happy and extremely full. Cannot wait to come back!

The portion size alone is impressive. The container is packed and feels substantial the moment you pick it up. The base is a bed of fries, and these are not just filler. They are thick, well seasoned, and sturdy enough to handle all the toppings without turning into a soggy mess. On top of the fries is a generous amount of chicken. The chicken tastes freshly cooked, with that warm, savory flavor you expect from good shawarma, never dry and never overly salty. There are pita chips mixed in, which add a great crunch and texture against the fries and chicken. Multiple sauces are drizzled throughout the dish. I chose a side of their spicy sauce. The creamy white sauce balances things out, while the orange sauce brings a mild heat and a little extra depth. None of the sauces overpower the dish, they work together to coat everything evenly and keep every bite flavorful. Diced tomatoes and corn adds a touch of sweetness that surprisingly works really well here. A sprinkle of herbs throughout helps brighten everything up and keeps the dish from feeling too heavy, even though it is definitely filling. This is comfort food done right. It is messy in the best way, packed with flavor, at least to me it was. If you are looking for something hearty, satisfying, and consistently well made, I will always recommend Anwar's Kitchen. My head is thinking "calm down--we ate minimally and got drinks. Don't offer it if you're going to have an attitude about adjusting the bill". It was just weird. They also didn't offer any bday dessert treat but we weren't super pressed bc we were so full. The meat was a bit overdone and all kind of tasted the same this visit. In addition to biryani, this South Asian spot makes hearty Pakistani dishes with bold spices and an emphasis on tender meat. Hyderabadi Lamb Biryani: This biryani is a magical blend of basmati rice, spices, onions, ghee, and lamb shank. The soft and luscious lamb meat easily flakes off the giant bone. The separate ingredients are beautifully layered together so the flavors are distinct and complementary. The warm spices provide great depth of flavor. On the side is a cool and creamy mint chutney. Nihari: Large tender beef shanks are slowly braised in a vibrant spice blend with onions, garlic, and ghee. The soft gelatinous connective tissue throughout the succulent meat is delicious coated in the rich and meaty stew. Tear chunks off the large chewy naan and form pockets filled with beef and gravy. Top it with raw onions, cilantro, ginger slivers, and a squeeze of lemon juice. The condiment plate here didn't have any chili peppers, but there was a little heat in the dish. Chicken Curry: Large chunks of boneless chicken thighs and potatoes are stewed in onions, tomatoes, and spices. The curry is thick and flavorful. Ordering: The friendly owner is happy to explain the dishes and offer recommendations. After you order your main dishes, you can grab beverages from the fridge or samosas from the case. When you're done eating, you pay at the register.
