It's OVER a HUNDRED degrees in Houston!  My retired parents' air conditioner no longer circulated cold air and Tek-Aire was highly recommended by my mom's friend.Mikeson came out after we agreed to the $150 service charge, which will go towards the repair cost.  After inspection, he and gave us a quote for a new unit costing $12,500.  My elderly parents wanted the existing unit fixed instead.  Mikeson reluctantly 'fixes' our A/C and charged $300.  The price doubled because this was a small repair job, he charges for service PLUS repair.  Again, he insisted we needed a new unit instead. ONE WEEK LATER, our A/C stopped working completely.  We asked for him to come back out to look.  Mikeson said he will come out only if we replace the unit.  He cut us a deal, $9,000 instead of the original 12.5k he quoted us.  From the receipt, "All labor performed by Tek-Aire Services, Inc is warranted for 90 days or is otherwise indicated in writing."  Mikeson said he will not warranty his work or for the material.  No guarantee for his labor.  Since we aren't buying a new unit, he won't return.  He won't inspect his work. My father got in touch with our regular A/C repair guy and they were able to stop by in half an hour.  We did not need a new unit.  The compressor was a little over a year old.  We learned that MikeSON replaced our capacitor with an undersized capacitor and wiring, forcing it to burn out. Beware.  MikeSON's way of 'fixing' your A/C is to trick you into buying a new one. read more

We had been having some issues with our AC and our AC guy we had been using tried to do a quick fix and just filled up our freon which ended up leaking again since we had a big leak in our evaporator coil. I decided to contact Mikeson to have him come take a look. They came out the next morning and did a detailed work up and gave us a detailed explanation of what was wrong with our ac. They emailed us a quote and we spent the weekend deciding what we wanted to do since we were out of town. We ended up deciding to go with tek air and they came out Monday morning and had our AC fixed. The ac now blows colder air that it ever has! I have been using Tek-Aire for over 30 years. I just had a 24 years old furnace broke down and replaced. After the unit is replaced in the late morning and running, Mikeson came in the late evening to double check the installation and the whole system again to make sure everything is okay. This time I had some scheduling problem due to Mr. Kwan was out of town and the back- logs they have. They sent two technicians, Saturday late afternoon, two days after I called. People have to understand that they do have other customers and especially high demand in service during the Houston hot summer time. I kept using them because Tek-Aire ( Mr. Kwan and now his son ) is honest and straight forward. They give you their best advise and you make the final decision. They don't take advantage of the hot weather in Houston and push you to replace old equipments so they can make more money. I highly recommend them. read more

Had a terrible experience with this company. They came to my home to service air conditioner. The serviceman replaced a part and left, asking me to wait until a few hours before turning on the unit because the coil had to defrost. When I turned the unit on, I noticed that the condensor unit outside was not running when It had been running before the service man made the repair. When I called the next morning to report the problem, the owner assured me that the problem with the unit was not the result of the work that his serviceman had done, but said that he would send the serviceman back. After 5 days of waiting and without air conditioning, I called a different air conditioning service company who came out and in 5 minutes the problem had been resolved. it seems that the Tek-Aire service man never plugged the condenser unit back in after disconnecting it. read more

Great experience!!! It was my first time to replace my AC as a new homeowner so I was a little nervous. I got multiple quotes but I went with Tek Aire because they beat the others out on price and equipment quality. That and the Tek Aire technician walked me through all the details of my old AC setup and my options, which greatly improved my understanding of my home and AC in general. The day of installation a very friendly and professional group showed up bright and early and got right to work. The installation went much quicker than i expected. The technician again went out of their way to include me in the process, showing me new equipment and walking me through the phases of the process. Soon after the install, I received confirmation emails notifying me all my equipment was registered and warrantied! AC now runs great and is much quieter. Its nice to no longer be terrified my AC is going to give out mid-July in Houston. I plan on using Tek Aire for all my future AC needs and highly recommend their service. read more

Wow, the best is the business! Mikeson is so knowledgeable, and professional. My A/C was acting up on Saturday night, after a few questions over the phone, he pin-pointed the issue right the way....Over the Phone! Wow!!!! Instead of wait til' Monday, he came over on Sunday morning to take care of me, so I can have A/C ASAP. He didn't even charge anything extra for a Sunday service. First and foremost this company has horrible customer service and scheduling! I called to schedule an A/C service on Wednesday July 15th. The lady on the phone agreed to make an appointment for Friday July 17th at 3PM. I took the day off of work to make sure I would be available. Friday 3PM comes along and I have not heard anything from this company. I called and the lady told me that Mr. Kwan (the technician) will be there but she is not sure of the exact time. She said she would get back to me when she finds out the time, 4:30 PM comes by and still no returned call. I then contact the company and was told that the technician would not be able to make it today. She rescheduled me for Saturday July 18th at 1 PM. Here is the kicker she does the same thing as the previous day. I call the company at 1 PM and was told the technician would be on his way. It is 3 PM now and I have not heard back from the scheduler still. This company is a complete waste of time and they have absolutely no customer service skills! How can you tell someone 2 days in a row, you are going to be there at a specified time for a service and never show up or give a courtesy call letting the customer know what is going on? NEVER AGAIN will I call this company for any sort of service. Don't waste peoples time!!! read more
