Very disappointing experience at Telfair Nails & Spa. I would not recommend this nails and Spa I scheduled an appointment for my sister today at 11:00 AM specifically with Amy. When she arrived on time, she was told that Amy was busy and would be available in about 10 minutes. After waiting 10 minutes, the staff informed her that Amy was still occupied and that the wait would be another 20-30 minutes. Instead of honoring the appointment that had been booked, the staff repeatedly encouraged her to switch to a different technician and tried to persuade her to get other services. If Amy was not available at the scheduled time, this should have been communicated in advance rather than after my sister arrived and had already waited. Making customers wait beyond their appointment time and then pressuring them to accept a different technician is unprofessional and disrespectful of their time. Frustrated by the situation, my sister left without receiving any service. Appointments should mean something. Based on this experience, we cannot recommend this salon. read more

Because I travel a lot for work, I love Houston, TX why? Because there's a nail salon are on every other corner, here we don't have the traffic other states have, food options are plentiful, Beauty Supply business are with 2 miles of each other, cost of living is low and that's - OPTIONS. My 1st appointment Jessica did a good, a few things I didn't like was wanting to replace 2 nails that was cracking, Jessica assured me she could just put acrylic on them and they would be fine. She explained Telfair has a 14 day policy on broken nails, however great but my time is valuable and I don't want to come back. I tried to keep my peace because I like to prove my point before I give a negative review or an "I told you so". Applying extra acrylic over a crack is NOT the answer, you need to either replace the nail or grind down the crack and apply acrylic. I'M THE CUSTOMER, if I ask for this service don't "use car salesman" me with your words (1st red flag). I received a very good pedicure from Sandy who was VERY sweet and throughout my pedicure she asked if this was ok, if that ok was ok. THIS is how you keep the customer from complaining and keep ME coming back or complaining later. Sure you can label me a difficult customer if that's YOUR opinion, but I bet you can count on my money to order off your Wish List or Upsize your meal off my tips. Overall, I fake smiled with Jessica and MeMe too when I returned 7 days later with a broke nail that just happened outta nowhere - WHY you ask? Because the foundation was cracked, it was 1 of the nails I pointed out 1 visit. Let's move this review on... I returned back 3 weeks later for a refill, I remembered the # for the base coat (the base coat is very important for nude nails). I ALREADY had the picture of how I wanted my nails, I desired french tip colored nails with different shades of my pedi color so I chose about 7 shades in that family (2 xtra to getit right). These things is how 1 jumps in front of a problem before they happen, not waste peoples time and maintain a flow of peace and harmony aka having A PLAN. The plan did not go as planned here's why: 1. The base color could not be found. 2. Several attempts were made to find a similar color. Jessica showed her annoyance with ME after I disagreed with her other opinions. STRIKE 1 3. Now she's obviously annoyed and points out I have 7 colors and not 5. I explained I needed her help to choose t5 because, 1 they're in the box and 2 her eye as well to flow the colors like the picture. STRIKE 2 - who you annoyed with? 4. After she applied the base color on all my nails, she did the 1st french burgundy and it looked hideous. When I disagreed - NOW, TELFAIR NAILS & SPA we have a problem! Jessica annoyed, tells ME I said the base was ok (TRIGGER words STRIKE 3) I only agreed AFTER your 2 obvious annoyances and before YOU applied the same exact burgundy that was on my nails that match my toes. I asked her to look and tell me if it looks elegant? I further explained to her not to get irritated with me because now she's missing out on money walking in because people coming after they've gotten off work. Don't get pissy with me because you're out of the base color that has thrown a monkey wrench in the plans also taking longer than should. Oh and MeME, she was looking at me when I was speaking to her then she rudely answered me with her back turned. Thats disrespectful and she knew it. I told Jessica to just color the entire nails the same color she had in her hands DESPITE knowing the color didn't match the color on my toes Why ask me if it's ok when clearly it doesn't match the polish of my toes? WE both knew having the white base color underneath would change the color uggg me too, I'm annoyed at you lady. I wanted to maintain my peace, get my brows done by Sandy ( I was in a photo shoot the next day hehehee) and handle the situation like a lady. Jessica additionally stated to me to speak to MeMe if I had an issue with her services. I calmly and with a smile said NO I GO TO GOD WITH MY PROBLEMS NOT SANDY, who cares about Saaaandy, she fake smiles. I was encouraged by Sandy to return, the other techs and Saaandyyy overheard everything,, Andy checked me out and offered me 15% off my services. I tipped Sandy XTRA because I wasn't tipping Jessica. Tips are highly appreciated BUT not required :) NO I won't be returning ESPECIALLY since MeMe turned her back on me while I was speaking to her, Miss thang has me confused with her ego thoughts:))(breathing in to find my Buddha). I walked in without an appointment, and they were able to see me. The staff is professional and the facility is very clean. I was an athlete through college, so my toes are not the easiest to work on, and they were great. I loved the way they turned out. I also like they they did nails and toes at the same time. This is the only nail salon that I visit religiously. I have tried multiple salons in the Sugarland area, and this one is so much better than the others. My rating is based off of the quality of the service, staff accommodation, and the cleanliness of the salon. I have never had to wait longer than 45 minutes to an hour for Nails and that is when I decided to just show up and walk in. If you speak to the owner or the technicians, they will let you know the best days to come that aren't super busy. I know not everyone can make it during the times that it's not, but I am sure that they would love to be able to service you in a timely manner if given the opportunity. The salon is a hot commodity, especially on the weekends, so don't expect to walk in and get your nails done right away. I am very picky about my nails and my toenails and each time I am just as happy or happier than before. read more

Do not I repeat do not go here!! I have been going here on and off for over 4 years mostly because they have extended hours. As of today they will never get any more of my business. I went along with my daughter that I might add is a front line worker and hadn't had a day off in forever. As I went to pay they were charging me an additional $30 a regular pedi. When I questioned it and was paying the gal taking my payment quickly charged my card without the additional $30. Not a problem at all as I always just tip around $20. Well then around the corner comes the nail tech "Mimi" she got in my face and was yelling at me all kinds of things including saying that I didn't have money. The nerve and the bravado. I really enjoyed my service today. They were able to squeeze me in last minute! Got a set taken off and then dip powder on my natural nails. Telfair is under new management and Mimi, who i presumed to be the manager was very nice. They have a 20% off all services right now, so i ended up paying 36$ for my service. Only reason it is not five star is because of the used nail board/tools, but it doesn't bother me that much. Will be back to try out the pedi's :) read more

I would give ZERO stars if available! I used to go here under the former owners but they kept some of their manicurists and kept going. But the service has severely declined over the past few years! And most recently I had called to make an appointment only to show up and still have to wait 30min....I finally had to ask someone how much longer (no one else made eye contact with me before then) and she said another 20-30min. Needless to say, I was not happy about that and left! Never again will I come back! Like the saying goes "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!" And who wants to be the fool?!?! I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They are are dirty! None of the equipment nor the supplies is cleaned, sanitized, or new when working on a new client. Absolutely no prep work was done to clean up my cuticles or preserve my nails. The manager is hasty to call out the client and blame them for a mistake done during the nail process rather than trying to rectify the process. The person doing my nails was nice enough and trying to help, but just the way the managing staff is run brings a whole place down. The skin on my fingers is torn up and leftover acrylic is completely left on my fingers. It doesn't seem that they have proper training. I have attached pictures to display their shotty work. Not really sure what the hype was about this place but I'm going to settle the score. I'm big about customer service. If I am going to go out of my way to enter your establishment and pay you, I feel like I deserve a smile at minimum. I don't even expect perfection, just simple human interaction. I work in the medical field, I know what it's like to deal with all kinds of people, but at the end of the day, I just don't tolerate subpar treatment. Today, I decided to try a new nail salon since I've recently moved into the Sienna Plantation area... I had been driving around and used Yelp to find a nail salon. This one had many good reviews so I thought: Yay! Well. I was disappointed, looks like I'm going to have to make that drive back to Pearland for my needs. My tech hardly made eye contact with me. Never smiled once. She lifted my feet in and out of the water almost as if it were a chore. In fact, my entire service was done as if I were a nuisance to her. The salon was empty. When she finished painting my nails, instead of to inquire about how I liked it she cleaned her area and walked off. In fact I'm sitter here righting my review waiting for her to come back... she left the job several times to watch the television in the center. She walked to the front to put my polish back on the shelf... and no communication whatsoever. Someone is heating up lunch and the smell is very pungent. It's not very relaxing at all. It's all too sad because I have options... I have options! Why would I have EVER selected this shop when my usual spot treats me sooo well. I don't mind driving 25 minutes to be treated well. I was never offered: 1. Water or beverage 2. Neck pillow 3. Anything in general... Instead I was told: DON'T MOVE! When she was helping to put on my sandal. I'm a Mother. A Wife. An active part of my community. I should not be made to feel like a dog because I went out of my way to treat myself to a spa service. NEVER AGAIN!! At the TOP OF MY LUNGS! I hope this caution resonates WELL to anyone who is so much as thinking about entertaining the thought of visiting this salon. And if you have had a better experience, good for you! UPDATE! Tammy did a beautiful almond acrylic full set on my nails in a cute cornflower blue with chrome powder on top. I'm obsessed! Loved my experience here! I normally never get my nails done besides a basic mani/pedi but I decided to treat myself last month. Chose the green tea honey pedicure (which I strongly consider as a luxury) and got an ombre overlay with pink/white for my nails. The pedicure itself was really relaxing and my feet felt very soft after. It seemed to be soaking in hot jelly almost with the green tea honey solution they put into the water. Afterwards, they painted it with french tips and I loved it as it looked very nice even with my nails being so short. As for my nails, I am generally skeptical since I do not want the nails to hinder my daily activities. Tony did my nails and he did an amazing job! He used a powder to do the overlay and only added a tip to one of my index fingers (as the length was basically how long my real nails were). I have had them for 3 weeks now and as he promised, they were very tough and did not break through any sports or workouts. I enjoy that there is a variety of treatments here that they do and I'm excited to slowly try some more! It is a bit pricier due to the area but I'm sure you'll be satisfied with whatever you get. Tony and Tammy are super nice and welcoming. Also, if you need your eyebrows done, I've also heard Tony does eyebrows pretty well and helps you reshape your brow.
