Not the same Tellet Wines. We were looking forward to a nice bottle of wine. It was Saturday afternoon and we had just arrived in Lewes. We decided to head over for what we remember as tasting time at Teller Wines to taste and buy our favorites for the trip. On walking in things looked decidedly different. Gone were all of the well labeled and curated bins of wine. There now was a row and a half of spirits In a store that looked disjointed. Ok. They also don't seem to be doing wine tastings. Ok. We could hear the movie the person working was watching - intently apparently because he didn't come over to offer any help or assistance - a hallmark of the old Teller Wines. We browsed the aimless rows a bit, still we could hear the movie playing loudly. Wondered if the guy would acknowledge us coming in. After a bit of browsing we decided nothing struck as as worthy of purchasing so we walked toward the front of the store to leave. As we walked past the counter I can only imagine the guy working there was relieved that he would need to stop watching his movie to help us. Never said a word to us and we left. It's not the same Teller Wines we adored. Before you could count on a knowledgeable person helping you with a selection from a well curated stock. Now the wine stock is much thinner, not well curated or organized and there is a guy working there who clearly likes watching movies. We won't be coming back. read more

I can't think of a better late Saturday afternoon activity than the free wine tasting at Teller Wines in Lewes, DE. The store (which is very attractive) is a marvel of reasonably priced bottles (and more expensive ones, if you desire them) and an impeccably knowledgeable and friendly staff. We have "discovered" so many excellent wines and increased our knowledge one hundred-fold since we started going to Teller Wines. Owner Steve also is a foodie par excellence. His breads - Kogler's Old World Breads - are in a word - delectable. By all means, do not miss stopping in Teller Wines when you are traveling into Lewes on Savannah Road. You won't be sorry and will find yourself stopping in again...and again...and again. read more

Second review. Now that we have lived here a few months and even able to visit other stores,we will stick with the Saturday tastings at Teller. The reps that come in to do the tastings always are very knowledgable about their products, the region it came from and how it was produced. The staff and owners always acknowledge your interests and always show appreciation for your patronage. A nice tasting to meet people and learn about wines from other enthusiasts. read more

Just visiting the area for a few days and driving by Teller wines, I stopped to check it out. What a jewel I found! Kevin the proprietor and his staff are no nonsense wine lovers. They are knowledgable about all they carry in the store and are genuinely interested in me and my taste preference. They could have steered me to some more expensive items, but no, instead they pointed me to the medium and lower priced wines so that I can afford to try more of them with the food I like. Great selection of wines from around the world including some less common varietals. Wines are organized by taste/flavor profile and the owners are super knowledgeable and will help you choose a great wine. Great selection of beer and spirits as well.
