They also come…read morehighly recommended, and when you're getting ARB lockers installed you want people who know what they are doing. I went in pre-Covid and got a quote which was $3200. I lost that quote and they where unable to find it in their system. My new quote is $4200, but with out the other quote they can't explain why. I called around and found out that $4G to have both installed was the going rate. So I figured the $3200 quote was a mistake. Since I needed these installed prior to going to the Rubicon and my trip was approaching, I went with them, (and the other shop was saying they couldn't get it done when I needed it done by.) The day before my appointment I found out they didn't have the parts in and I wasn't going to be able to get the front locker. So I pushed my appointment back a week to make sure they had the rear in the store (since that was also going to take longer) before I I dropped off my Jeep. I was able to get the front locker delivered to me in 4 days after finding it on Amazon, so I'm not sure why they couldn't get one. (Maybe no profit for them if they get it at the amazon price like the general public instead of a likely discounted rate from a supplier, etc.) They had my Jeep for two days and I found out it would not be done by the end of day. They said that the seals in the front are different from the JK to JKU models and they got the wrong ones. I had to take a day off work and use 12hrs of my PTO because of this! Now on the third day I called at 11:00 am to see if the parts came in. I told Josh I needed this done by the end of day, and that I cannot miss another day of work- I said someone in town has to have the correct seals - He replied "he's waiting on UPS and if they could have gotten it local they would have, and waiting on ups is messing with him" So finally at 15:20 I heard back that I will get my Jeep back that day. I show up at just before 17:00 to pick it up. They had my Jeep out front and ready for me. I go to get my keys and I ask Josh so do I just turn on compressor and then flip switch for lockers? I find out at this point that they didn't install the airline or hook up the SPOD and compressor, even though I told them I had both. Josh told me ohh you wanted us to connect it. Normally people want to run there own air lines. That night I called and left a voice message for there manager or owner to call me. Thursday at 11am I called again and left a message with Josh, that I wanted the owner or manager to call me. Monday came around, and no phone call. I stopped by the shop at about 1600hrs and talked to Josh. I dropped off Jeep. I found that there was air leaking around both solenoids, luckily one of our club members is a mechanic and was able to help me. We found that there was nothing used on the threads to stop the air from leaking! We had to remove the manifold out of the jeep, and redo what was not done correctly. We also found that they were not tight. After properly installing the solenoids and re-installing the manifold we still had air leaking from somewhere. We found air leaking from the connection at the front differential because it was not installed tight enough!But we still had a leak so I crawled under the jeep and started to check the rear line, and when I found that it had burned through, they had ran the line so close to the exhaust that it burned through and I was left with two separate lines and two piece of melted tubing! This was under the jeep, so I could not stretch it to the manifold. We were able to use the propane line from my camping stove to do a "bush fix" with a couple of hose clamps. Sunday I had both lockers working and what a difference that made. Would have been nice to have that for the whole trail! I left a message about failure. 8 days no call back. I absolutely cannot believe that they are not even willing to return my phone call, after charging me almost $4,000, and me calling over 8 times. I cannot believe someone can own a business and care so little about the quality of the work, and even if for some reason some justification could be found for all the mishaps, with such little care for a customer's experience, and to not even have the common courtesy to return my phone call- this really undermines my trust in them, as they seem to just care about the money not the quality of the job and far less about their relationships with their customers. I will never use this shop again. It's sad because they used to have a good reputation. But now they over promise and under deliver... I cannot imagine they will stay in business long if they continue this behavior. As for my part, I will absolutely make sure that if I can save someone else the trouble with them I will- no one should have to go through this! Had to delete part of my review. To long per yelp.

I had been putting off dealing with the scratch because the last time i had a fender bender issue and had to go through insurance with an auto body shop, I'd had a bad experience with the rental car company they used trying to pin me with a ticket that wasn't mine, and long crazy story unrelated here. I had gone back to the same auto body shop (because it appeared they did a good job and they were very nice people, rental car not really their fault). But even though, to me it looked like a smaller job, they told to me it would be another biggish job, reaching into near $5000 to repair with panels, bumper, and paint repair, where I'd need a rental car co again so i had put it off, for fear of using rental car co, plus i have a $1000 deductible (ouch). To make a long story shorter i came into Downtown auto, upon referral, and met with a very nice guy, Martin. He took a look at my scratches and actually buffed them all out on the spot! (wow!) and gave me a bid to fix my front bumper for less than my deductible so i wouldn't even need to go through the insurance and rent a car! Plus, he said it'd be done in like 2 hours. I made the appointment and can't wait to update this review further. Btw, it's a comfortable waiting area, with nice glass viewing windows to see what's going on with your ride. And if you need to make a Costco run that day? It's conveniently located right across the street!

Their estimate came in about $400 less than a local competitor. I didn't want to put this repair on my insurance due to prior claims, so I was paying out of pocket. Not only did Downtown Autobody save me some cash, their estimator Martin was a pleasure to work with. Very honest and straightforward service. No BS or empty promises like some places. They finished the work on time with no unnecessary delays. The final results were like new. I could not ask for better service. Highly recommend.

This company specializes in diesel fuel injection systems, and they are better at that than anyone…read moreelse. I have heard about in the 44 years that I've lived in this county. They are expensive, but they really know those systems so I took my truck to them to have the fuel injection, system investigated and repaired. They charge one hour labor for doing that, which I approved. They did their investigation and told me what needed to be done to the fuel injection system. they also told me that I had a bad water pump that would be an $1800 repair, and that I had hydraulic leak in my steering/brake system and gave me a price for that as well. I had just had the truck at another Mechanic who had replaced the power steering pump, one of the power, steering hoses, and the power steering booster. They told me that there were signs of leaking from the water pump, and also from the power steering and to get everything fixed was gonna be more than double what the Fuel system repairs were going to cost, so I told him to go ahead with the fuel system repairs and deferred the rest of the work until later. I'm pretty sure that they would've done everything they quoted and replace a lot of parts to complete the work that I held off on. When I got my truck back, I asked what testing they had done to be sure that I had a bad water pump and other items. I was told that their mechanic saw signs of coolant and oil under the hood, and that it left drips on the floor where they parked my truck. I had informed them in advance that the steering had been worked on and that I had not yet pressure washed the engine, but they were insistent that they were very qualified and careful, and that all the other work needed to be done because things were leaking. I purchased a new OEM water pump for in preparation to have it installed, BUT I have driven the truck now for a couple of months without replacing that pump, and have NOT seen a single drop of coolant or oil on the floor of my garage or on the engine. I did call them back to double check on the problem with the water pump and asked if they had performed an industry standard pressure test on the cooling system. It took several days for them to get back to me, and I was told that they didn't need to do that because their mechanics know what they're doing, if their mechanics say something is bad, then it's bad. I feel they should've pressure, tested the cooling system, and they should've cleaned the residual oil off of everything before claiming there were leaks, Particularly because I told them hydraulic system work had just been completed the previous day and I had not pressure washed the engine compartment. As a former auto shop teacher, I have some insight into auto repairs, and even though they are experts in diesel fuel systems where I have little expertise, I know plenty about cooling systems and hydraulic systems. I'm very comfortable with the diesel injection work that they did on my truck, I am getting about 6 miles per gallon more fuel economy than before their work. They completed the work in a timely manner, for the price they quoted, and that I approved, so I'm comfortable with the bill that I paid. I'm glad I did not authorize thousands of dollars for the additional work that was, and still is unnecessary. I'm uncomfortable with them trying to sell me expensive and unnecessary repairs on other things that they did not investigate thoroughly, and the inaccurate investigation that they charged me for.
