This company specializes in diesel fuel injection systems, and they are better at that than anyone else. I have heard about in the 44 years that I've lived in this county. They are expensive, but they really know those systems so I took my truck to them to have the fuel injection, system investigated and repaired. They charge one hour labor for doing that, which I approved. They did their investigation and told me what needed to be done to the fuel injection system. they also told me that I had a bad water pump that would be an $1800 repair, and that I had hydraulic leak in my steering/brake system and gave me a price for that as well. I had just had the truck at another Mechanic who had replaced the power steering pump, one of the power, steering hoses, and the power steering booster. They told me that there were signs of leaking from the water pump, and also from the power steering and to get everything fixed was gonna be more than double what the Fuel system repairs were going to cost, so I told him to go ahead with the fuel system repairs and deferred the rest of the work until later. I'm pretty sure that they would've done everything they quoted and replace a lot of parts to complete the work that I held off on. When I got my truck back, I asked what testing they had done to be sure that I had a bad water pump and other items. I was told that their mechanic saw signs of coolant and oil under the hood, and that it left drips on the floor where they parked my truck. I had informed them in advance that the steering had been worked on and that I had not yet pressure washed the engine, but they were insistent that they were very qualified and careful, and that all the other work needed to be done because things were leaking. I purchased a new OEM water pump for in preparation to have it installed, BUT I have driven the truck now for a couple of months without replacing that pump, and have NOT seen a single drop of coolant or oil on the floor of my garage or on the engine. I did call them back to double check on the problem with the water pump and asked if they had performed an industry standard pressure test on the cooling system. It took several days for them to get back to me, and I was told that they didn't need to do that because their mechanics know what they're doing, if their mechanics say something is bad, then it's bad. I feel they should've pressure, tested the cooling system, and they should've cleaned the residual oil off of everything before claiming there were leaks, Particularly because I told them hydraulic system work had just been completed the previous day and I had not pressure washed the engine compartment. As a former auto shop teacher, I have some insight into auto repairs, and even though they are experts in diesel fuel systems where I have little expertise, I know plenty about cooling systems and hydraulic systems. I'm very comfortable with the diesel injection work that they did on my truck, I am getting about 6 miles per gallon more fuel economy than before their work. They completed the work in a timely manner, for the price they quoted, and that I approved, so I'm comfortable with the bill that I paid. I'm glad I did not authorize thousands of dollars for the additional work that was, and still is unnecessary. I'm uncomfortable with them trying to sell me expensive and unnecessary repairs on other things that they did not investigate thoroughly, and the inaccurate investigation that they charged me for. read more

Have had alot of work done here and lots of money spent and almost all of which has failed. Few months back I had a rear ABS light on and brakes locking up and not disengaging. Took it in and asked for brakes and sensor to be replaced. Brakes were done but not ABS. Was told it was a non issue and to ignore it. Almost immediately my brakes lock up and start smoldering and smoking leaving me without brakes. Take it in again and ask for ABS sensor again. A second time they replace my pads and tell me to ignore abs. Yet again my brakes immediately engage and burn out. Take it in again and ask same thing again with same result which leaves me without brakes a 3rd time. Finally bring it in the 4th time and they finally fix the ABS which does fix the problem. This all happens in a span of a month and a half of not having my vehicle and being put on the road without brakes 3 times. Meanwhile I have a carseat in the back and am trying to take my.2 and a half year old son to daycare while these issues with my brakes are happening. Needless to say it is not safe. Then my fuel lines between injectors start leaking which had been replaced by santa rosa diesel a year and a half prior. When I contacted Dave about it I was told it was a lemon and I should sell it asap. Then he proceed to tell me in these words " this is why we put a year warranty on it, so we can get it out of here and wash our hands of it". To be clear this is a 92 wheeled coach with a 7.3 diesel engine and 90,000 miles on it. The problem isn't the vehicle and it is absolutely not the vehicles fault when the work they did just 18 months prior fails. I was actually referred by my regular mechanic, waited 2 weeks to get in, and then they spent a day sitting on it before calling me and telling me they didn't want to work on my 1988 Ford. I was quoted $15,000 to check and replace glow plugs because they didn't like the look of the rig. Sure, it's a burning man van, but come on. To make matters worse, they just left it unlocked with the windows down and the keys in the ignition in an unsecured lot. read more

Do not bring your vehicle here! Total scammers! My buddy and I brought our Ford diesel for a simple tranny cooler fitting repair and these people attempted to scam us for over 2k of unnecessary work. We went to retrieve the vehicle and the mechanic who inspected the vehicle aggressively insisted to the customer the vehicle was in a wreck attempting to justify the egregious unfair quote. At this point the mechanic told the customer he was full of shit! Actually said this to the customer er. The representative at the counter aggressively told the customer to "shit his mouth" these guys were literally ready to have a fist fight with the customers! The must unprofessional behaviour I have ever had the unfortunate experience to deal with! Buyers be ware, these guys are scammers and may try to physically fight with you if you disagree with them. Unprofessional, incompetent,just to name a few.i had a coolant leak on my Duramax .Tech said it was a water pump and a oil cooler,both leaking.they completed the work for a small fortune.only to have it leaking again days later.I returned it to the shop ,where that had it for days .Then to my shock he said the head gasket was blown! Simple test at the start of this diagnosis would have shown this.He said sorry we missed the diagnosis! I should have cancelled payment on work done.turns out it was a hose and coolant reservoir!. i recently had a 2007 Ford F-550 break down along the 101 passing through Santa Rosa... My roadside assistance towed my truck to Hansel Ford where their "factory trained technicians" told me the camshaft had broken and the engine needed to be replaced ($16,980.00 estimate). A 5th grader could have done a better diagnosis. Not being from the area I took my chances on Santa Rosa Diesel (they came up in a google search) and luckily they more than impressed me, fixed the problem, performed the repair quickly, and addressed some other problems I had under the hood. In the end they diagnosed a very difficult problem and saved me $13,000.00. I only wish they had a shop closer to Los Angeles so I could send my whole fleet of trucks to them. read more

I have a Diesel Ford Excursion and was taking it to the dealer. What a difference at Santa Rosa Diesel...they know what is wrong right away and get you on your way without spending a mint. Our truck broke down and I towed it 100 miles to Santa Rosa Diesel because of the trust I have that they are not going to rip me off and knew I would make up the cost of the tow in the repair. Had the turbo rebuilt 1 year 3 months ago, I was not having any issues w/ it, but it had almost 200k miles on it, original from 1999 & wanted it rebuilt for PVM purposes. This last Thursday I started to hear some noise while driving the work truck, I pulled the turbo & found the bronze bushing had failed, the impellers touched the housing & exploded. I was in such shock as I had it rebuilt a year ago to prevent something like this occurring. Went back to their shop with receipt & explained what happened & brought the part, they didn't care & offered nothing, said it's out of warranty & they washed their hands of it. But clearly there is a failed part, this should have never happened if they had rebuilt it like I was charged for. I tried to reason with them but they didn't want to listen to it or help fix the situation, not even help get a replacement part. I had it rebuilt for this exact circumstances not to happen, so I'm suspicious that they didn't rebuild it completely as paid by replacing the bushings. I believe that they left the original bushings which failed like I was concerned would happen. Needless to say I think they are questionable on their workmanship & definitely don't give a crap about their customers or customer service! read more
