I absolutely love Temple coffee. It's something about their coffee that is pure perfection. I love the Mexican Mocha, Thai Tea, matcha, Espresso and Americano. We come here sometimes for a meetup and it's a nice environment for that as well as for their drinks. They have fresh brews, pour overs, sweetened drinks, and teas. They also have gluten free and vegan pastries too, and maybe the non specialty regular pastries as well, I'm not sure, so all of those are good options for those who get the munchies. It does get kind of crowded here at times esp on weekends, and the parking is challenging bc their lot is small and there's also zero shade. Seems most people park on the side streets in the neighborhood, but there are posted reminders to park respectfully and not block driveways and walkways. Service is good as the baristas are fast and good at their craft. I really like the ambiance here, it's really chill and it's nicely cooled here on a hot day though it really can get too crowded like I said, but everyone's respectful and people will share a table or let you squeeze in on the long table or side table. All in all, one of the better coffee shops in town. I don't live near east sac, but for coming to this Temple coffee location, I'm happy to make the drive. read more

This location is a little bigger and better, in my opinion. The food is fresh. The service is great and they're willing to help you out with your favorites. Their flavors go by season so, not everything is available. For instance, right now it's more fruity (mango, watermelon, brown sugar, etc) and they do have sugar free options for dietary requests and non dairy or heavy cream options. This location has a nicely sized outdoor area if you choose. They are also pet friendly, dog treats at the front. If you're here, get your coffee bean fix on. The ambiance is welcoming and cozy. The parking is a different but at least it's not sharing with other adjacent businesses. That's a bonus. This location is also close to the freeway. read more

Neat coffee shop franchise with delicious coffee! I visited back in April, and I ordered a cold brew, drip coffee for my grandpa, and a matcha affogato, which is something I haven't seen being served anywhere else. The cold brew was super nice, I sprinkled a little bit of cinnamon on mine to give it a little more flavor. The matcha affogato was delicious, I chose the got milk flavored gelato and served as a sweetener for the matcha. They must've cooled the matcha before pouring it onto the gelato, because the gelato wasn't too melted when I received my order. The baristas were super nice while taking my order, and answered any questions I had asked them. The line was a little long, but moved quickly. There was even a free sample of espresso with single serve mugs on the counter before you reach the registers! I wish more coffee shops in general did this! Creamer is on another small counter where sugar, cinnamon, and the trash bin are, although they were running low on it. I wanted to ask the baristas for more creamer for my grandpa's drip coffee, but I was running short on time so I didn't ask them. Definitely stop by when you get the chance! read more

I drove by this place and thought it was a dental office or something, unbeknownst to me, it was an amazing coffee shop! Not much signage, and even less parking. Heads up, you'll need to probably park in the neighborhood (so please be courteous) but a very cool shop. Lots of seating, and seems to be a popular place for folks to drop in and work or study. Shared with the barista with short blonde/pink hair that it was our 1st time and there was zero to no acknowledgement on that. We were a group of 3 that was taking our time reviewing the menu options and felt pressured to make a decision with no explanation or suggestions of menu options, just eyes watching us. Someone in my group requested a Caramel Macchiato and the response back was "I can make you a Vanilla Latte." all while a container labeled caramel was in sight. Out of fear of asking further questions, we just agreed and ordered 2 of them because the other person in our group no longer felt comfortable to say what they wanted to order. I just ordered a latte, but I was expecting a stronger taste from the espresso at Temple. After drinking it, it really didn't seem like there was much caffeine at all. Not the best place for a coffee shop if you live in the immediate area. There just is not enough parking and they force their customers to park on the narrow 42nd St next to their business. When these guys opened up, they had more parking that limited this problem, at least somewhat. But then they built an outdoor patio a few years ago which took away a lot of their available on-site parking. And later expanded that patio. The situation is horrendous now on 42nd St. Cars are clogging all the parking at all hours. And the street is so narrow that cars passing in opposite direction is scary. One tries to avoid if possible. How they ever got approval for this current setup is a total mystery. And then today after an incident, just had to write. Coming down H from the River Park area. At about maybe 46th Street this big pickup truck (older, white, rack on top) just turns on to H directly in front of me, causing me to break very hard. Just amazing the driver decided he had to pull out. Light traffic and no one else coming from the other direction. After doing this, he just totally gunned it ... probably because he knew what he did. This appeared to be Temple truck given the Temple advertizing signs on the truck body. Unbelievable. Well he goes down to the Temple coffee shop and turns right on to 42nd St. No doubt it would seem where he was going. I continued down H, but not happy in anyway with this driving exhibition. Tasted like straight up milk, now I have a tummy ache. Looks like a melted shamrock shake. I expect better from Temple, especially for the price. McDonalds equivalent of Sacramento craft cafes. Maybe stick to coffee ? Just take this off the menu until all baristas are trained how to make a good matcha latte. This Temple location in East Sac has quickly become an enjoyable pit stop after I leave work and want to unwind before heading to midtown. I'm digging the neighborhood feel, although parking can be pretty hit or miss depending on the time of day. The baristas here are all very friendly. The pace is slower but the drinks are just as fantastic. The outdoor patio area has been revamped and made even larger, which makes it a good spot even for groups to gather. The face-in-laptop customers stay inside with the outlets and the patio is filled with conversations. On a recent fall evening (that still felt like a summer one) there was even a book club discussing their latest read. When Temple has a 5lb bag deal on their coffee this is also the place to find it. This is one of a few Sacramento coffee places, and this location has been here for a few years and is quite busy considering that it's in the residential neighborhood but with the nearby hospital, there is a lot of foot traffic coming here during breaks. The indoor section restaurant is filled with people on their laptops working or communicating. There is an outside area that is nice in the summertime or in the winter when it's warm and not raining. There is a big selection of different coffees and teas available with some pastries available. It's a little bit on the expensive side, but the coffee is good. We usually frequent the same Temple locations but today we were passing through the area so I wanted to check out this East Sacramento location. The parking isn't great, but honestly parking isn't great at any of the locations haha. We got lucky though and got the last open spot in their tiny parking lot. The actual storefront itself looks like a tiny house but it actually felt like the most spacious out of all the locations I've been to. They still have the same efficient setup where you place the order with the barista so they can start making the drink and it's ready by the time you pay. I was excited to try the new seasonal drinks and today I went with the gingersnap latte. Usually I'm an iced coffee kinda girl but it was a cool crisp morning so I stuck with the hot version and it was really tasty with the whipped cream. I liked that the latte wasn't burning hot temperature so I could start drinking it immediately. The ginger flavor is there without being too overpowering or "spicy." My cheddar chive scone was flaky and flavorful but I'd still have to say I prefer their lemon blueberry scone. There is an entire room of seating once you turn around the corner from the register. This is where they hold their bi-monthly free coffee education classes. When you walk outside, there's even more seating, and even a covered tent with additional seats. It's so much more spacious and if I had to pick any Temple to come hang out, it would definitely be this one. read more

We come here to study pretty often, and while the Sacramento location isn't perfect, it's definitely better than the Davis one. The space is more open, there are more tables, and it just has a better overall setup for getting work done. The coffee is a 6.5/10 and the matcha sits around a 6/10--decent, but not amazing. Also, it's definitely on the pricey side for what you get. But one thing that keeps us coming back is that the staff is always kind and welcoming, which makes a difference. Compared to the Davis location, which has fewer tables and barely any outlets, the Sac spot is much more study-friendly. Overall: 6.5/10. Not our top spot for drinks, but the environment and friendly staff make it worth visiting when we need a chill place to study. read more

Temple Coffee is East Sacramento's favorite family and dog friendly, neighborhood hangout. There is a large upscale indoor sunny space to enjoy coffee and pastries. But the coolest part of this place is the outdoor covered patio area. There is at least one extra long picnic table to accommodate large groups. Every time I have been there I see younger families with one or more children and many others who bring their well mannered dogs. There is a really large, inviting chalkboard in the covered patio area. Kids and sometimes adults, are creating temporary masterpieces. I drink drip coffee, and I'm not going to lie. A medium drip coffee, 16 ounce, is $4.40 and a refill will cost $2.90. I always get a pastry $4.95. With taxes, going to set you back $13.33 plus tip. I don't mind, as I meet a friend and we usually talk for an hour or so. I consider the ambience and the charming neighborhood atmosphere, just part of a great Sunday morning experience. Having all that in the neighborhood just makes you feel like you're part of a small village. Fancy barista, prepared, coffee drinks, just not my thing. But they do have all that, and I'm sure they're really good at it. Highly recommend it. read more
