I haven't been to Tenchi is a few years, but decided to give it a try again. We were quickly greeted and able to be seated right away. The place was clean and inviting. They have a new menu since I last came here, and it's different from the one previously posted, so I added some pics of the menu. In addition to the menu items, there's a chalkboard near the register, which had some sushi rolls listed. We received some complimentary chips and salsa. Salsa was good, but chips were fair, I guess. We were a group of three, so we ordered a grande burrito, a cali chicken sandwich, and I ordered one of each of the three sushi rolls listed. Food came out fairly quickly. The burrito was huge and nicely filled - you could probably get two meals out of it. The cali chicken sandwich came with some beautiful avocado slices, and lots of chicken and of course it had cheese. The sushi rolls were beautiful. They came with soy sauce, another sauce, and freshly grated wasabi (not the paste kind you get sometimes) and nice slices of fresh ginger. The california roll was a bit bland, but the two tuna rolls were pretty good. Word or two of warning (good warning) - the fresh wasabi is potent; and the rolls had about 10 pieces each (not the 6 or 8 pieces you usually get at many places) so maybe order just one at a time to see how much you can handle. All in all it was a very positive experience, and the service was very good. I think I'll have to keep Tenchi in mind for some more visits. read more

Great little place you might miss if you're not looking. A quaint restaraunt that offers a Spanish American menu. I went straight for the tacos. They double tortilla them!!! YES! THANK YOU!!! Very delicious and they know how to use cilantro!! The street corn is a yes as well, although I wouldn't call it a "shareable" . Our first time here and I must say it was very good!! The nachos taste fresh and they were nice and warm. The atmosphere was nice as well. I had a burger and onion rings that were very tasty, I will definitely come back to try more from the menu! Tenchi is truly amazing. The ownership and staff are top notch - not only is the food top notch, but as a local business they are constantly supporting our schools, events, and communities. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu; however, we recommend their burrito bowls, authentic tacos, and street tacos. They also have a full ice cream bar! Inside there is limited seating, but they offer fast to go service. They also have a food truck that is at many local events and offers a smaller menu of their best sellers. read more

Nice little spot in Greensboro. I got the burrito with added peppers and onions and my husband got a steak bowl. My burrito was decent and definitely worth the price Considering how much you get. The steak, peppers and onions and pico was delicious but the rice and beans on the other hand wasn't. It was really dry and clumped to one side of the burrito but it had good flavor. I wish they had an option to top the burrito with a sauce. It definitely would've added an even better taste to it. The tortilla itself was pretty good! It was thin enough to not be overly chewy or thick and kept everything in place! I also would think that they would be wearing masks in there while preparing the food. When I walked in to get the food none of the employees had mask on, but I'm guessing that's a risk you take? With that being said it's a decent spot I would give it 3.5 stars since I haven't tried anything else from the menu. read more

I've been ordering food from here almost two or three years now and I must say I enjoyed the food from here. Personally I enjoyed the quesadilla platter, I just like how the quesadillas were cooked to my liking and I like the fact that it's served with rice and a guacamole salad, I definitely recommend the quesadillas from this place, specifically the steak quesadillas and I also recommend the tenchi yaki bowl, I think it was called. That was also good as well, I recommend it with carnitas, it tastes a lot better with carnitas. The service is also great, the employees are very friendly and they provide excellent service. I also like how they decorate the place during fall and winter. II would give this place a 10 if that opinion was available but overall I definitely recommend to go there read more

This place was just okay for me, but I am pretty picky about tacos. I ordered the carnitas tacos and was surprised to find that instead of juicy shredded pork with hints of citrus and cinnamon, their version of carnitas was finely chopped bits of pork - and lots of fatty chunks included (I picked out at least 8 pieces of pure fat). The taste was okay but it really just wasn't like any carnitas I've ever had. I tried my husband's steak burrito which was better and I did enjoy the sauce that came with the tacos. We also ordered the guacamole "salad" side which was just a small amount of guac with some shredded iceberg - it wasn't bad, but again, it just wasn't what I was expecting (i.e. maybe a little tomato, cilantro and onion?). Anyway, it was a cute little place in a quaint little area out in the country and the girl that took our order was sweet. OMG OMG OMG! So good. I HATE beans and rice but I would eat these every day! Beans are soft but not squishy and the rice is PERFECT. Had the enchiladas with the verde sauce. Soooo good. And the Tenchi bowl is amazing. This is NOT your average "Mexican" restaurant. Flavors are wonderful and textures are perfect! Will be back many times. Wish I had found this place sooner Review update: last night tried it for a second time. Beans and rice were sooooo disappointing. Beans were mushy and rice sticky. Heading beach decided to try this out of the way place. It was great. Great small town feel.

The owners are top notch people. And I have never been disappointed with their food. They catered my moms surprise 50th birthday and everyone loved the tacos. We also won a giveaway and got to spend Valentine's Day together there for dinner and it was the best steak I've ever had... better than Ruth's Chris in my opinion. We love Tenchi! read more

I heard about Tenchi through word of mouth, overhearing some one else talk about it. To make a long story short, I went and they have lived up to all the hype. The Mamas Fajitas Are the best tasting and the portion size is more then enough for two persons. The Corn tortillas are savory and piping hot. I always get the Steak and Chicken,and Shrimp add. Had a bit of a problem ordering online from Tenchi last night. The app informed me that the meal will be ready in 35 minutes, cut to an hour later it still told me 25 minutes. So I called and found out that the meal had been ready along time ago, and that no one had called to tell me, the waitress apologized profusely, almost to the point of starting to get on my nerves a little bit. They offered me a free drink, which I thought not quite enough for being hungry and not having my food for an hour but then they offered to remake my food for me so it would be hot. It would just take a few more minutes . At this point, I was hungry and I had already paid for it, so I didn't mind waiting although I was still a little miffed at this point, it was now about 8:30 PM. Anyways, so I got my food got home and started eating it and realized just how good that burger was. Really, it's not that hard to make a good burger, in my mind, but that really was the best burger I ever tasted, brioche bun, cheddar cheese, cooked exactly the way I wanted it with bacon and grilled onions not a dry or a greasy burger and full of flavor. Searched google for a Mexican restaurant in the area and went here seeing 4.5 stars on google. Biggest mistake: should have read the reviews. It's basically American pub fare and the only "mexican" food is what you expect from a place like Chipotle. People seem to like their burgers and ice cream. Not by any means an authentic Mexican or Spanish restaurant. Shame. read more

If you want Mexican fare with flavor, go elsewhere. The enchiladas were flavorless as was the rice. Like they are cooking for gringos who are afraid of any spice. The only flavor in the guacamole was the cilantro. Salsa tasted like it was from a can. I REALLY wanted to love it, too. Disappointed. This place has been fantastic! I had a pick up order which was fast and efficient. I had the Texas burger which was delicious! One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. This place is amazing! We just moved to this area and Tenchi is within walking distance. We've tried it twice now and it's been wonderful service and food both times. My burrito was so big that I couldn't wrap two hands around it--and I still somehow finished the whole thing! The tacos were great as well. We were visiting friends in Ridgely, MD and they took us over to Greensboro, MD for lunch at a Spanish American Kitchen called Tenchi... I wish I had time to sample more of their menu... I chose the chicken quesadilla... The tortilla was excellent and I understand made onsite... I don't know what kind of cheese they used but it was superb in taste and consistency... Overall I think it was the best quesadilla that I've ever eaten... Very economical pricing and I venture one of the better eateries for many miles around...
