First time here. Stopped in for a quick sip. It was right down the block from where I needed to be so I took advantage of the location. Walked in to an empty cafe, that soon changed. I must have showed up at the right time. Ordered a cortado from the gentleman who made my coffee as well, and took a seat at the window bar. First sips. Pretty good. Nicely balanced espresso. Mild citrus and floral notes with rich chocolate and brown sugar that lingers on the palate. Medium bitterness, but nice. What a great little spot. BUT then... I finished my coffee and politely asked where I could put my dirty cup, as opposed to leave it where I sat. (Welp... don't expect Dutch Bros-in your face, friendly) I asked the girl behind the counter who was annoyed I bothered her. She pointed and said over there. Which was not very apparent. So I went over in that direction and seen an empty counter. I didn't want to just set it there, so I asked an older gentleman and he nodded and pointed. No words necessary I guess. There was a cart tucked in the corner with an empty bus tub. Nothing points or says please put your dirty stuff here. But I'm going to say that's where they go. While visiting friends in Chico, us vegans picked this place for a to-go brunch. Six of us ordered drinks & food, while the rest of the group waited outside. I tried their Lavender Latte, which was super delicious & I don't typically like coffee. We left two people to stay inside to wait for our food to be ready, while the rest of us drank our coffees outside. But once we had finished our drinks, our food was still not ready. I poked my head in a couple of times to check in, & it looked like there was only one stovetop used for making all orders. After 45 minutes, our first two dishes came out. By the time all of our food was ready, we had been there an hour, so of course some of our food wasn't as hot anymore. Their paper menu looked much more limited compared to their menu online, which was disappointing since we primarily went to try their Biscuits & Gravy. I ordered their special, which was a ricotta wrap. It had lots of veggies & sundried tomatoes, but I could barely taste the ricotta. My husband ordered a Southwest Burrito & said it had pretty good flavor, but by the time we got to eat it, it was fairly cold. I LOVE vegan businesses!! But at this very establishment, I was absolutely SHOCKED and downright disgusted today, at my very first visit. Ordered a breakfast burrito, a guy started making my food. I stood there the entire time, watching him. He didn't have any gloves on, was touching the food, went outside to socialize with friends while food sat around, touched the front entrance door with bare hands, then touched the door again with bare hands to come back inside (he was coming in & out) proceeded to prepare my food all without WASHING HIS HANDS?!?!?!! Has the HEALTH department ever been notified of the unsanitary practices here? I left. Didn't even care to ask for a refund, seriously just walked out while he was still working on my food. I've been searching for an all vegan coffee shop in Chico. Finally found one that has amazing coffee and great food options. I've been loving the vanilla latte with lavender syrup and their savory treats! The simple biscuit is delicious but wish it was a little bit bigger. Not to mention, their amazing customer service! The three cheez grilled cheez was the best I have had in years! I brought my carnivore Mom and she said she loved it and will get again. I also bought a brownie , it was luxurious and rich. The people who served us were very nice. Little hiccup, we waited a very long time for our food. We think there was a mishap with the new person. Dude it happens , I hope she's okay. Didn't see her after hearing a crash. The ambiance is loud"ish" coffee house normal. Upbeat staff. Food was so, unexpectedly, good. I'm always concerned about feeding non-vegans vegan cheez . If you're vegan, you know it's not exactly the same as dairy cheese, this combination was gooey, comforting and delicious. Great job! Visited with a friend on 9/24/25. The food was rather overpriced, but that's typical nowadays and was to be expected. What I did NOT expect was the unfriendly vibes from the two girls working behind the counter. My two friendly comments were ignored and evidently smiling at customers is not one of their job duties. The boy who brought us our food was reasonably cordial, but with consistently cold vibes emanating from the two girls, why would I go back?? There are other coffee/lunch places in Chico that appreciate my business, the TLC staff apparently dos not. I prefer to spend my $$ at a place that at least tries to be friendly to me as a customer. read more

Vegan breakfast for the win!! I have such a hard time finding vegan breakfast foods, so this was a real treat!! We had two scones - blackberry lemon and raspberry almond. They were perfect - soft and crumbly, great flavor. Gosh, it was nice to eat a sweet treat like that without having to worry about my dairy allergy! We also shared the Southwest Burrito and The Classic sandwich. Both were delicious, but the sandwich blew me away. Great flavor combination, so creamy. I would definitely order that again! Hands-down one of Chico's neatest coffee shops! Chico is a city with a coffee option on nearly every corner. We love our Java. And I'm not just talking Starbucks, either - one can find myriad mom-n-pop shops all over. Few offer the charm that TLC does, though. This shop is in a cute older part of downtown, smack dab in the coveted Golden Triangle neighborhood. It's near a small theater and is only a few blocks from the Saturday morning farmers market. The sweet facade with its whimsical hand-painted signage and bistro tables called me in. The venue was warm and toasty on the cold winter morning I paid it a visit. The interior is just as charming with benches to sit and a long bar area to order. I ordered an americano and an amazing pastry which I believe was vegan. Both items were amazing and hit the spot. Every time I came to Chico I have to eat here. The chefs always surprise me with new items on the menu. I had the tacos this time and a breakfast sauce patty. Both dishes were extremely good. Since I am fully vegan I had my first pumpkin spice latte fro this 2023 season and Oh my Goodness you really taste the pumpkin flavors on it. The service is always phenomenal and ambience is great. Another coffee shop here after a long dry spell in chico. I'm ecstatic. They have a lot of seating. Like they have outdoor, table, 2 seaters and bar stools ones. It's a definite plus. I praise them for having an abundance of outlets. And THESE arent just normal outlets, the outlets have USB PORTS!! Lol like whattt. That's definitely one of my fav thingys about this place rn. In comparison to other cafe/coffee shops this one has an outlet accessible to most if the seats. The decor here is also super slick. The geodes, art, plants liven up the place quite a bit and totally matches the outdoor. I got the chamomile tea. It taste pretty good. Served in a traditional mug. The can add more hot water after your done drinking as well. I didnt get any food but they have one of those old style pizza cooker things. Lol like I'm already a fan even though I didnt order food. One con is that the menu isnt super clear and is only on a small 8x10 acrylic board. It allows the kitchen/bar area to look nice but makes it hard to see any of their offerings. I personally wish they had more cool drinks/lattes/surprises since its marketed as a coffee shop but I think rn they focused on the menu more. Loved this cute little vegan spot, so many good food options. It's hard to find somewhere that can replicate good a simple vegan breakfast sandwiches but the biscuit was great! Been here a handful of times. Slow service. I think we waited over 30 minutes for our breakfast sandwiches and there were almost no customers coming in. Staff was standing around chatting. When the food finally arrived I thought the breakfast sandwiches tasted too fatty, like maybe too much aioli? The "egg" and "cheese" were burnt. I didn't find the patio to be a welcoming place to sit.. we viewed it and decided to come back inside. What's with the seven health score violations though? Cozy vegan cafe--due to how their seating is arranged, it can feel crowded inside if the seats are more than half full. Their mobile station at the Saturday farmer's market is sweet too. My favorite thing about this place is that they use oat milk for all their drinks--no extra charge for being lactose intolerant! because of this, TLC is usually my go-to place. Their holiday drinks are on the slightly more expensive side, but I and my guests have usually been satisfied with the drinks they offer here. I go to TLC to study too, and am satisfied with a drink or black coffee with a 50% off pastry to fuel my session. I hope to try their vegan food options one of these days as well! read more

Holy moly! This is THE coffee shop to go to when you're vegan. Everything is vegan and delicious. I will update when I have tried the coffee, but the treats and food are incredible. I highly recommend the BBQ Bakie "egg" sandwich. Sautéed onions, slightly spicy sauce, pickles, tempeh bacon, and "egg" on an English muffin...so good!! And I 1000% recommended their seasonal pumpkin cake with "cream cheese" frosting. Tastes like the real thing and is gluten-free so it's almost a cross between cake/pie. SO. FRICKEN. GOOD!! The staff are friendly, the environment's kicked-back, good quality stuff made in a little brick oven...it's awesome. Will be back again! read more

My cashier was super friendly and very helpful in helping me choose a drink ! I went on Sunday when their menu is a bit altered nonetheless, I got an egg biscuit with a substitute of gluten free hash brown buns. The sandwich was really delicious and it also came with a side of fruit ! I did get the Rose Latte which was good (not the best rose latte I have had, but okay). Very cozy, very cute, and if you are looking for vegan/gluten free sweets or savories, this is for sure the place to go. It's a bit further outside of town than the Naked Lounge or Stoble, but the coffee is as good as Naked, better than Stoble, and it feels a little more quiet and tucked away which can be nice.
