The food and service here are so amazing. The woman running the place is so adorable and very attentive. We had a group of four and ordered a few items each and she offered us free green tea, kani salad, and shrimp shumai for the table. I cannot recommend this place enough, even their lunch special is incredibly stacked with a lot of food.

Actually a great experience with delivery. Had the edamame, Sumai, salmon tempura rolls, Shrimp tempura rolls and sweetheart rolls. I usually think rolls taste similar, but the sweetheart rolls were different. So fresh and different- never had tuna wrapping my roll. The salmon tempura rolls also had the distinct taste of salmon, which is awesome since sometimes I feel it gets masked especially in tempura. I ate everything and wish I could just eat it all against. Really satisfying.

I'm so mad at myself for not trying this place out sooner. I've been going to the pan-Asian spot down the block for my sushi and they're not that great. I wasn't really that hungry, but I was out so I thought I'd grab a bite before heading home. I started with a salmon tartare and that was delish! I ordered my faves in nigiri and I have no complaints! All was fresh and beautifully prepared. I almost got me some Uni, but they didn't feel it was at its peak of freshness, so they didn't want to serve it to me. Well, maybe next time. Yeah, there will be a next time.

Vegetarian sushi review I moved to a new apartment in Brooklyn & needed to find a new sushi delivery spot. Got lucky on the first try with this one! They have my favorite the sweet potato roll and the avocado roll plus veggie gyoza! The gyoza doesn't always taste freshly made but this is a solid pick for sushi delivery

Ordered from here this weekend as I love sushi but my girl lives in Ridgewood and there are not a lot of sushi places in the area.(whole lot of Latin chicken places tho) We each got 3 roll specials and decided to get 6 different rolls so we could try a variety. For the most part it was as average as sushi places get, nothing was bad and nothing was great. We got California which was basic and unoffensive, Eel avocado which she liked(I dont care for eel) spicy crab which was pretty good, Shrimp Tempura which was actually pretty good, Yellowtail Jalapeno which they make much better at Wasabi in Bensonhurst and sweet potato which was ok. Ordered shrimp shumai which was very good, light wrapping and nicely filled. My favorite dish we got and an odd appetizer called Crispy Duck Roll which was basically a spring roll with duck meat but you really couldnt taste much of the duck filling at all. I had Miso soup which was your basic, decent soup and she got a salad which looked nice and had nice variety but she did find a browned piece of lettuce and that kinda killed it. Overall with the dearth of sushi in the area we will probably order again but it wouldnt be a place I would seek out.

This is how my delivery order arrived. ?????

I've ordered from here on and off and it's "fine"... however my most recent order of rolls arrived completely fallen apart. There were also bits of carrot and cauliflower in with my edamame order. With so many other similar "average" Japanese places around, there's just no need to ever order from here again. Also got a hard time from the delivery guy about bringing the food to my door even though I tipped 25%...

Ridgewood finally has a decent sushi restaurant! I can vouch for the salmon avocado and yellowtail jalapeno rolls. The bento boxes are good -- not great, but good and satisfying since you get such a variety of food. The rolls were consistently fresh and tasty the three times I've eaten/ordered -- as good as your average Williamsburg/Greenpoint sushi spot. The waitstaff is really friendly (seriously, they kept wanting to hold my baby). Also, both times I ate at the restaurant, they were getting lots of delivery orders, which is a good sign. And the miso soup contained enoki mushrooms, which was a nice surprise. Just fyi, they won't have their liquor license for a few more months. Hopefully when they get it, they'll have a free sake deal at dinnertime (hint, hint). One weird thing - for dinner I like to get the "3 rolls" deal that most places have. The various 3-roll combos they offer are just... weird. They're just not combinations of rolls that anyone would want. Luckily you can just order a la carte and it's not much more expensive. It's Ridgewood, so I ain't gonna complain. And this is just nitpicky, but I don't like the chairs they have. They're super heavy/bulky and are kinda hard to get out of. Oh well!

Very nice lady on the phone. I am sick and they accommodated me by delivering the food upstairs right to my door. The ingredients for sushi were fresh and the rolls were tasty. Soup was just ok, but overall a nice and quick delivery experience.

This is my 2nd time here to eat in the restaurant. I dont eat sushi so I can't comment on that but I do eat the avocado rolls. This place is always empty when I walk by. It seems like most of their orders are delivered. As soon as I sat down I knew what i wanted. The lady took my order asked if i wanted anything to drink( i said water) went and sat down. The man making the rolls was pretty quick. He brought them and asked if I wanted water and I said yes, I told the lady and he went and got it for me. Almost immediately after eating my last bite the lady came to me and said check? ( like dang can I digest a little? No one is here)

Will never order from there again. The food was horrible. I have never had chicken teriyaki that was not cooked in the sauce. The chicken looked as if it was deep fried without the flour. The food absolutely had no taste or flavor. Will never do it again!!!

Decent local spot for a quick bite, delivery's takes about 45 minutes. Will definitely give it a try again!

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

First of all, we couldn't find the place because there is no signage. I guess that's part of the "charm"? But literally when we found it we didn't even know if the place was open. The gates were down, the windows were basically covered and nothing about the place was welcoming. We realized they were in fact open so we approached the door. We were greeted by a piece of paper stating "reservations only". We entered anyway and the place was EMPTY. There was one couple seated but other than that the place was EMPTY. The hostess approached us and I asked her if we needed a reservation and she said we did. So we said ok we'll come back another time and then she said, " well since it's pretty quiet tonight we can seat you." We should have left. We were in there for about an hour give or take and no one else came in at all. At all. Anyways, we ordered our food. I ordered the sashimi plate and my husband ordered a couple rolls. We also ordered the crab and avocado salad and the hamachi kama. Everything was basic. Nothing was amazing...oh except the price of the hamachi kama. Menu said market price and I get it, that means the price will fluctuate accordingly, but $60 for the hamachi kama? I almost fell off my chair when the bill came. I have eaten at very high end sushi restaurants and am almost 50 years old. I have never had a $60 hamachi kama. This one wasn't even tasty!!! It was not good or flavorful. Tasted like they just defrosted and microwaved it. I was wondering why i kept hearing a microwave go off but realized after the fact that that's what they must have done. I did not complain. We paid the bill. We left. Later that night I had stomach issues. Nicest way I can put that. I will say that i ate almost nothing that day so I can only attribute the stomach issues to the sushi. Needless to say we will not be back.

The strawberry part was more like a jam, so it was a little sweet for me, but overall a decent drink. I would have preferred crushed strawberries, though. Later, I came back for dinner at the tail end of the day. I was leaning towards the beef curry bowl because I like bolder flavors, but the karaage chicken is a hit here, so I ordered that in bowl form. First off, all the contents were very fresh! The chicken pieces were crisp and tasty. The burdock on the side had a smoky umami that was quite nice - it was the best of the 3 sides - and the spicy mayo was on point. Still, I think I would have gone with the curry given my taste buds, but overall the karaage bowl is a solid choice. Lastly, while the container looks small in circumference, it is taller than other takeout containers, so the portions are really about the same as any other restaurant. The nori fries were subtle in flavor but the nori still made its presence known. All in all it was a great experience. The owners are very nice, also. I will go back for the curry and yakiniku, too.
