I ordered the three roll special and shrimp shumai buy one get one on Uber Eats. I was hesitant given the yelp rating but the food was pretty good. The three rolls came with a side salad. The side salad was just lettuce and it was still pretty wet so that wasn't ideal, but the ginger dressing made it good. The shrimp shumai were also a bit wet from being steamed so the skin of the shumai was a bit mushy but not much, that was still good. The sauce it came with was not great but OK. the Cali roll and spicy tuna roll were delicious and the eel avocado roll was also good, a bit too much eel sauce, but good. The delivery person had a bit of a language barrier because my directions say to leave it at the door and they called and they said delivery here and I said OK can you leave it at the door and they repeated themselves and I just said OK thank you and we both hung up and the person lingered to see if I actually got it from the door. I was a little concerned that if I didn't get it immediately, they would take it back thinking there was no one there. I would definitely order again from here. Actually a great experience with delivery. Had the edamame, Sumai, salmon tempura rolls, Shrimp tempura rolls and sweetheart rolls. I usually think rolls taste similar, but the sweetheart rolls were different. So fresh and different- never had tuna wrapping my roll. The salmon tempura rolls also had the distinct taste of salmon, which is awesome since sometimes I feel it gets masked especially in tempura. I wasn't really that hungry, but I was out so I thought I'd grab a bite before heading home. I started with a salmon tartare and that was delish! I ordered my faves in nigiri and I have no complaints! All was fresh and beautifully prepared. Ordered from here this weekend as I love sushi but my girl lives in Ridgewood and there are not a lot of sushi places in the area.(whole lot of Latin chicken places tho) We each got 3 roll specials and decided to get 6 different rolls so we could try a variety. For the most part it was as average as sushi places get, nothing was bad and nothing was great. We got California which was basic and unoffensive, Eel avocado which she liked(I dont care for eel) spicy crab which was pretty good, Shrimp Tempura which was actually pretty good, Yellowtail Jalapeno which they make much better at Wasabi in Bensonhurst and sweet potato which was ok. Ordered shrimp shumai which was very good, light wrapping and nicely filled. My favorite dish we got and an odd appetizer called Crispy Duck Roll which was basically a spring roll with duck meat but you really couldnt taste much of the duck filling at all. I had Miso soup which was your basic,decent soup and she got a salad which looked nice and had nice variety but she did find a browned piece of lettuce and that kinda killed it. Overall with the dearth of sushi in the area we will probably order again but it wouldnt be a place I would seek out. read more

Ridgewood finally has a decent sushi restaurant! I can vouch for the salmon avocado and yellowtail jalapeno rolls. The bento boxes are good -- not great, but good and satisfying since you get such a variety of food. The rolls were consistently fresh and tasty the three times I've eaten/ordered -- as good as your average Williamsburg/Greenpoint sushi spot. The waitstaff is really friendly (seriously, they kept wanting to hold my baby). Also, both times I ate at the restaurant, they were getting lots of delivery orders, which is a good sign. And the miso soup contained enoki mushrooms, which was a nice surprise. Just fyi, they won't have their liquor license for a few more months. Hopefully when they get it, they'll have a free sake deal at dinnertime (hint, hint). One weird thing - for dinner I like to get the "3 rolls" deal that most places have. The various 3-roll combos they offer are just... weird. They're just not combinations of rolls that anyone would want. Luckily you can just order a la carte and it's not much more expensive. It's Ridgewood, so I ain't gonna complain. And this is just nitpicky, but I don't like the chairs they have. They're super heavy/bulky and are kinda hard to get out of. Oh well! read more

The sushi, philadelphia roll alaska roll sweet potato roll I ordered was amazing. Favorite was the sweet potato roll, due to it's soft and almost creamy texture and sweet and salty flavor. But the service was borderline rude. I picked up my order and stood for a few minutes had to knock 2 times to get some attention. A lady yelled repeatedly for someone to see me. Someone came out about 5 minutes later and then quizzed me on the food in my bag... yes, quizzed me on the food in my bag...when service was slow (I was the only one in the store) and all other employees were sitting around watching tv. (Guess they were on break, maybe that's why I had to knock a few times.) That was the first thing she or any person said to me, not even sorry for the wait. Almost immediately after my last positive review, my experience with this place went severely downhill. I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars at this place and they think nothing of giving me disgusting old ikura, omitting items from my orders, and making me wait at least an hour (sometimes upwards of 1.5 hrs) for SEAFOOD. Delicious, and fresh, especially tonight, the sushi was fantastic. The best sushi in the Ridgewood/Glendale area. It's been my go to for 7+years. I usually walk over for pick up or get it delivered, it's fast. I appreciate them being safe and using caution due to CoVid. The last week I ordered delivery, and my guy called to let me know delivery was here and he set on my door step, thank you for being cautious. This place was good. As others have mentioned, the Bento boxes give you SO MUCH food. So much. It came in three bags! One less star because the salad was really sad (iceburg lettuce that was mostly white) and I did not realize the salmon would be fried, and it was a little overcooked. Tried out Tendo for the first time this week, and it was pretty good. I ordered some Edamame, Fried Pork Dumplings, Miso Soup, Udon Noodles w. Shrimp... all of these dishes were very good; in particular the dumplings- the flavor was outstanding. Everything was hot and tasty. Delivery was about half an hour from Ridgewood-Bushwick. The one thing I didn't really like was the sushi. I got the $14 roll combo w/ Miso Soup.. Spicy Salmon, Tuna & California roll. Ok, so the Spicy Tuna was definitely the best out of the 3, but it's pretty basic and hard to mess that one up. The salmon was ok, but didn't really have much flavor. But, the spicy California roll was just not good. The crab was overly crunch, almost where I think there were pieces of shell or uncooked rice in there. I am not a sushi waster by any means, but for the 1st time ever I threw away the remaining 5 pieces of Cali roll. I personally wouldn't get one of the combos again, #1 because the are kind of strange things put together and #2 I felt it was a bit pricey for the quality. I will def. try some of the specialty rolls next time I order, like some of the other reviews say. The apps. and noodles were good, so I will probably give Tendo another try. read more
