I've never eaten in BUT I order delivery often (around once or twice a week). Let me just say that they are by far the best in terms of delivery service. They're always quick (I live nowhere near the area). Food comes hot if it's supposed to be hot, and cool/fresh sushi wise. Everything's neatly packed and no spills whatsoever. Why do I emphasize this? It's because delivery usually sucks. Food may arrive cold and soggy, utensils may be forgotten and soy sauce may spill everywhere. It just goes to show that this place is very detail oriented and they care about their customers a lot. Food is average but it satisfies. I'm just really happy about the prompt and efficient delivery (as always) and they are and will always be my go to sushi delivery spot! read more

The only place I order sushi from in the neighborhood. I tried most of their rolls and I recommend them. I wish they have the sushi roll deals all day long. I used to order the bento boxes but got overwhelmed by all the food it came with. Tip: order online or call and pick up the food to avoid the long wait. This is getting three stars because the sushi is pretty standard but their waiters were abysmal. After being greeted and seated it took 15 minutes to get our order taken even though my boyfriend and I were the only ones in the restaurant. After giving our orders, our waitress had to come over not once, not twice, but three times to make sure she was putting in for the right rolls. Then it took over 20 minutes to get our appetizers (edmame & shrip shumai). The edamame came first and we had to remind our waitress about the shumai which she clearly forgot about. Finally our rolls were about to come out and we only received 2 out of five and had to wait additional time for the other three. So all in all, the meal took forever to actually get. However, the sushi itself is probably the best I've had in Ridgewood so far. It's pretty standard for the price and filling for what you get. I just recieved my order off of Seamless. Pros:-came in about 30 minutes. Less than expected! -Ramen had good flavor. -Wasabi seemed fresh -The spicy tuna had very nice flavor. Good amount of tuna in the roll Cons: -There was next to no shrimp in my Boston roll. Like, all lettuce and cucumber basically. If I wanted a vegi roll I'd have ordered one. - Meat in the ramen was very dry. -Ramen noodles didn't travel well. -Rolls are also pretty small. Overall I would order again. I love Tendo Sushi. I have been ordering delivery from them for years, and it is always super fast, tastes freshly prepared and delicious. The rice always tastes freshly made, not sitting there pre-made and getting stale or hard, which I have experienced elsewhere. Just wanted to give them another great review because they know how to keep their customers happy. This evening, they called right after I placed my order online, to let me know they were temporarily out of my favorite roll, shiso and plum paste, and I had ordered two. They kindly suggested some replacements (I went with 1 asparagus and 1 sweet potato - both great). The order came super fast as always, and I saw they had also included a free order of veggie dumplings! Very thoughtful, AND delicious. If I could give this place a Zero star I would, I ordered from here on UberEats, the delivery guy calls me that he's downstairs I say "okay can you please leave on my steps I'm coming down now to get it", he tells me "Yes, okay", I go downstairs and my food is nowhere to be seen, I call the delivery guy multiple times, no answer, so I then call the restaurant and explain the situation, keep in mind I am a very nice person that doesn't like conflict but this lady was being very rude over the phone saying it is not her problem and that I didn't answer the phone when I clearly did speak to the delivery guy, she hung up on me multiple times and said it's my fault and that I should never order from her restaurant again, I also put the option on UberEats to "LEAVE AT DOOR", about 15 minutes of her yelling at me through the phone, the delivery guy randomly shows up and says "here take it" and basically throws the food at my friend and i, he was very unprofessional and rude to both of us and drove away. This was the worst and only experience I've ever had like this, I WILL NEVER BE ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN AND RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO EITHER. read more

Their delivery is quick, and the sushi is *excellent* for the price. Highlights are portion size, sweet potato roll, anything tempura'ed, anything with jalapeno. The fish is really fresh, the rice is warm and soft. I have only ordered delivery from them and they have always delivered in less than forty minutes. Never ate in though. So far, I have tried the vegetable and shrimp tempura. Shrimp tempura was good but i thought there was a lack of variety with the vegetable tempura, I got a lot of squash pieces. Was hoping for more broccoli or even a corn piece or even a mushroom. I have also had the udon soup which was very simple, the soup could have had more taste to it. I really did like their Yaki noodles with vegetables, it was tasty and flavorful. Noodles were cooked just right. I have also tried the rolls, I really like the spider web roll, crunchy and savory. They do their rolls quite well here. Have not tried them all yet. I ordered my dinner from Grub Hub. The food came earlier than expected. The Sushi was as fresh as anyone could hope for. One of the best I have ever eaten. I never got the food to rate it but I can tell you I definitely don't even want it after the way I was spoken to.. for some reason seamless sent it to the wrong address so when he called me and told me he was here, I tried to explain to him why and gave my new address ( 5 mins away and apologized) 20 mins later.. no word.. I call the restaurant she starts yelling at me and tells me to be patient he is on his way, 40 mins later she calls and says my order is cancelled.. one hour later.. still no response about cancellation so I had to call seamless again and they said there was no record of cancellation and that the woman yelled at him and hung up.. absolute thieves who do not deserve to have any business treating customers like this. I have a love/hate relationship with this place... For one it is without a doubt the best sushi place in ridgewood. Their rolls are good and for reasonable prices. When I order for delivery it is great but when dining in the service can take forever and sometimes can get the wrong rolls... You think "there is no one here, why is is taking so long" then you realize that they have a million delivery orders and only one hostess/waitress for the people who are there... STAY AWAY FROM THE MISO SOUP oh my god i felt i was eating wet sea weed, not a soup. It was like they went to the shore and gathered up all the sea weed from the beach. No taste what so ever..... I could talk about how much I hated that miso soup all day but when it comes down to it the sushi is all that matters and it was good. I'll get delivery from here in the future. read more

This is my boyfriend and I go too. We both love sushi, and we come here about once or twice a week, so we are basically regulars now, I absolutely love this restaurant, and the food is amazing. My favorite is the Phoenix rolls, and my boyfriend loves the bento box which is a wide variety. I 100% recommend this place to any sushi lovers. read more

The service is just terrible. It was a cold night and the restaurant was empty except for one other couple yet the hostess sat us right in front of the door. Whenever we started placing our orders I asked if there was a drink menu (noticing the other couple clearly were drinking beers as well as there are beers in plain sight on the shelves). She just pointed to the second page listing the juices and teas. The miso soup was good, but my bowl arrived dirty. The bento boxes were great, but the beef was definitely a bit fatty on the Negimaki and the rice was really dry. Also, we overheard new patrons sit down and immediately order sake. So they definitely have drinks other than juice and tea, but I guess did not want to offer it. In the end, the food ranged from pretty good to very good. It was a lonely sunday night where i was so hungry that i was ready to eat a horse . Im a sushi fanatic i could literally gobble up four rolls by myself. A big deal for me when it comes to sushi places is to find a place that has not raw rolls but actually cooked ones too aside from just seafood alone, there is just some days where id rather have veggies or chicken instead or anything fishy. Using grubhub i ordered a veggie tempura roll a chicken tempura roll along with a sweet potato roll and a crispy duck roll as an appetizer along with spicy mayo for seventy five cents extra ( some places charge over a dollar). Each roll here costs above standard but you really do get what u pay for, the plain veggie rolls are 2.50 but the tempura rolls are 4.50 and up ( duck roll appetizer was 6). The order itself took forever they promised 30 Mins and it ended up being an hour . But when it finally came i ordered an order of perfection. What i love the most is that these rolls didnt fall apart no matter how much chicken or veggies were in it and they didnt arrive cold which is a big plus. Also the tempura rolls werent over fried or too oily and very crispy it was perfect and the duck roll had a lot of good flavor without feeling too heavy or fatty. Mediocre sushi place. I ordered here a couple of times and I can say that I won't be going back after my sushi had an odd color and an even worse flavor. I once found a dead fly in my soy sauce. For dessert, I ordered mochi icecream and learned that it came straight out of a package. Not fresh at all. I think they should put more effort into the quality of their food. I just had the worst experience here. DO NOT ORDER from here. I ordered online via grubhub...it took two hours for my order to come through (one hour late). And to top it off, I ordered broccoli teriyaki and when I opened my meal, I realized that all I had was a cold box of broccoli and a cold box of rice. I order from tendo sushi about once a week. I've ordered from here for the past six months. I always skeptical about trying out a new sushi place, but this place has been consistently fresh every time. I've never had a questionable roll. They are reasonably priced, have great lunch specials, and the salmon teriyaki is wonderful. I usually get the boston and eel avocado rolls. Never a problem. Delivery is almost always early to on time. Occasionally delivery is late, but, sometimes there is traffic. Life happens. But they are a reliable and fresh go to. read more
