Took my racquet in to get restrung. The gentleman who was behind the register was a great help in getting me the right strings and grip for my tennis racquet. I bought my second racquet from TW. Not a huge purchase but almost $300. The racquet was not stenciled like I asked. I called to ask if they could send a stencil and ink to my home which is four hours south of them. I would put the stencil on then send it back priority mail. They said they could not but I could spend my money to send it back for them to do it. Fuck them. I will just send it back and get my money back. read more

They fulfill all orders correctly and promptly. They offer free returns when the items don't fit. If you need to call them, everyone I have ever dealt with is so friendly and knowledgeable. There's nothing additional Tennis Warehouse could have done to make my first 'purchase' my last. Purchase in quotes since I never received my racquet after more than two weeks and I had to cancel the never arriving order. Initially their website was UX friendly and they advertised their two day shipping which you can't beat - I went ahead and purchased a racquet through them. This purchase was made on a Thursday, noting the weekend could potentially prolong the shipment from the two day guarantee I wasn't concerned though due to my excitement, the following Tuesday I checked the status of the shipment using the order tracking number provided. This was the first introduction to how disorderly their entire operation is... 5 days after order: My order showed backlogged which I thought was strange, I would have expected a courtesy call or email notification of the delay. I called & was greeted by a nice gentleman with a New England accent who informed me that the string I had ordered was not available, and there was no expectation whether it would arrive within 15 days or longer... Okay, I figured that should have prompted a call to the customer at the minimum to inform me, or secondly ask if I would like an alternative string which I opted for on the call. He was very helpful on the phone and said they would get right on stringing the racquet and it would be going out that day or the following. I was okay with the delay, they were very kind and helpful on the phone and I understand these mishaps occur... If only that was it... 7 days after order: Two days passed since I spoke to the gent on the phone, I checked the order status lo and behold the same status, order not yet shipped, backlogged... Call again, a nice gal picks up the phone and checks on my order, comes back and apologizes for the delay, my racquet was still with the stringers and it should be going out today. Okay, fine, as long as it is here next week no problem... 9 days after order (2 conversations later): I wake up Saturday morning and check the status after two confirmations from Tennis Warehouse my order would have been shipped the prior week. To no surprise, the order status remained the same, order not yet shipped, backlogged. I emailed them (attached) to cancel the order and anticipated a response the following week confirming the cancellation and honoring the refund. No response was to be had. 14 days after order: Noting no email response, I called again. Same girl, very nice, she requested my order number which I provided, and she put me on a few minute hold... When she returned, she apologized and indicated the stringers had put the string on incorrectly(huh?) and that they would string it correctly today and send it out - obviously at this point I can't trust their lip service so I explained I had emailed them, this was the 4th call and to please cancel my order. She politely obliged... Again, no call to inform me my order went from two days to two weeks, and there was most likely no expectation the order would have been remedied without my action. I CANNOT dissuade potential customers from seeking other options, there were no redeeming qualities to Tennis Warehouse and as I write this I presume I will need to call in several times to follow up with my refund. Tennis Warehouse is the epitome of a Mickey Mouse operation and should be ashamed at the lack of service and operations they provide. TL;DR: Avoid Tennis Warehouse at all costs, if you do place an order track your order religiously and call daily. If there are any backlogs or problems with your order, they will NOT call or email you to confirm and your order will set on standby until you follow up. read more

Impossibly horrible customer service. Ordered a racquet. Went on a weekend trip. Came back. Order still in the status of "Waiting to be shipped" 6 days after it's placed. Call the next day. After several minutes of hemming and hawwing rep says that they are currently working on filling orders placed 17 days ago. But "not to worry, yours will definitely be sent out by this weekend at the latest!" This weekend comes. I receive the following email: "We are following up regarding your recent order with us. Our warehouse staff has concluded that an inventory error has occurred, and one or more items on your order are out of stock." Yes, apparently 10 days after I placed my order it is suddenly discovered that I ordered something that was not in stock. It's clear that their live, specific quantity-in-stock indicator on their site factors in items that have been purchased but not actually shipped yet. Or it's just completely fake. In either case, this company is trash and deserves to go out of business. I ordered the same racquet from Tennis Point (whose site looks even less polished than Tennis Warehouse's) and it the order was picked up by UPS today even though I placed my order late last night. TL;DR: Like the other reviewers have said: shop anywhere else. Heck, buy it from Amazon and get it strung locally for less time and effort. I tried to buy a pair of shoes online during Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals, but it feels like they would not honor the price and they cancelled my order instead. Then, they are saying it's "Out of Stock", but it still shows "In Stock". TW used to be pretty good, but it seems like they've gone downhill. They need to take lessons from Amazon customer service. SHOP ON AMAZON! and just get your racket in 2 days. As opposed to waiting for 20 days. don't call cause they will forward you on their system to email them,in which there are like 3 email representatives,but you won't get a response back till the next day or 3 days. 1st day processed my order 7th day my order actually gets processed 13th day one of my rackets get strung 16th day I get tracking for package (start questioning if I'm getting these from China or scammed. I'm from Seattle and not all the way in New York. Stopped at physical store on way down 101. Absolutely pointless - after Covid the huge showroom is reduced to a space smaller than a retail store in the mall - despite being in a huge building. They want to ship - they don't want you to come to them anymore. I miss the old dungeon location in slo old town - for years it was my go to midway stop , eat and shop. This is not a warehouse any longer. You can not buy anything here. You have to order it from the main warehouse in another state. The employees are nice when they tell you they don't have any stock in this location. What's the point of having a business with no inventory? When it comes to tennis gear and apparel, these guys are still the best game in town. I'm really not a big fan of shopping. I don't like to buy new things (especially when it comes to sports). If I like a pair of shoes, shorts, or a tennis racquet, then I'm gonna wear them out and then buy an exact replacement. That's why Tennis Warehouse is ideal for me. I've stuck with the same Adidas kicks for years (and they're always $10 - $20 cheaper than the competition). The same goes for tennis racquets. I've been playing with the same Babolat AeroPro model for ages. After all, if it ain't broke, then why fix it? Unless, of course, it does break and I need a new racquet. So when I do need to restock my tennis shoes and/or buy a new racquet, I just head over to Tennis Warehouse's website and I can purchase new gear in less than a few minutes. It's so damn easy. In addition to their great prices, they also offer free, fast delivery. I ordered a pair of Adidas adizero Club shoes for $75 and they arrived at my doorstep 24 hours later. What a terrible company! I made a purchase online that included 2 day shipping. Not only did they offer the 2 day shipping but even quoted a delivery date, which, for me, was the last day in my time frame. So they did ship with 2 day air, unfortunately, they waited 3 days to ship it even though they stated it would ship the next day. They did create the shipping label the next day, they just waited 3 days to actually get it to UPS. Further, at the time the label was created, and for days after, UPS quoted the day I needed to have it, but that all changed at the last minute when TW failed to get it out the door. So, I contacted TW's customer service which was horrible. While they did issue a quick refund, they could have cared less that they didn't deliver what they promised. They were very matter of fact, issued the refund, recalled the shipment, and they were done with me. It was as if they did this all day everyday and just didn't care. I ended up re-ordering from another company though I did miss out on getting my items on time for Father's Day, very disappointing, but Dad's ok and I'll just know next time to use anyone else. I put my faith and my money in TW's hands and they, without a care in the world, just blew off doing what they promised. There are too many good companies out there to do business here. read more

I would not recommend buying online. It's a dead trap to call customer service on Saturday & Sunday is closed. You can't make any change to cancel your order, If you made a mistake on how many quantity that added to your cart so be careful what you are ordering on their website. Dear owner/management, I just dropped into your retail location in San Luis and was greatly saddened to see how your decimated you multiple shops, collapsing onto one tiny, horribly merchandised and non air conditioned store front. What a sad sad development for tennis on the central coast. I've visited these store for years and always looked forward to seeing their full shelves of product and knowledgeable people. This new marketing idea looks like a freaking thrift store. Nothing worth seeing, trying on or buying. Why bother with this terrible effort? Close this last store and put these 19 year old kids back into the warehouse. It's beyond obvious that you're no longer interested in the retail world and are focused on sterile nature of online sales. How is a customer supposed to try on multiple brands and models of shoes and clothing? Get a sense for the balance and swing weight of a tennis racquet, talk to someone about all the new strong types? Free shipping back and forth, that's how you intend to service your customers? Whatever you think you're saving in not merchandising a store is going to be eaten up by postage and boxes in the back and forth world of online sales. This is so sad, I don't know what else to say. This review is for the online store, I'm sure the in-person staff are lovely. Shipping was a nightmare and it took weeks to get my racquet delivered. They also have a very misleading "demo" and "return" policy where if you actually try a racquet, at all, they will only accept a return for 65% STORE CREDIT. What a joke. Oh, and one of the two racquets I ordered to try was strung improperly so I had to get it restrung anyway. Legit the worst online purchase experience I've ever had. I placed an order for overgrips back in March. For whatever reason, they were out of stock. Surprisingly, despite Tennis Warehouse being a tennis specialty retailer, I was able to find the overgrips readily available elsewhere. So I canceled my order with Tennis Warehouse and got my overgrips from another vendor. Now, over three months later, I get an email from them saying "good news, the overgrips are back in stock and so we've sent them to you and charged your credit card." I told them I canceled the order months ago and their only response was, essentially, "not our problem, if you want to return the product, follow the instructions when the product arrives." Who is going to wait three months for an overgrip? These guys suck. read more

EDIT: Updating my review to three stars. My order inventory came back online and was shipped out and I'm expected to receive it this week per expected. I still think their inventory management and website ordering process is not best in class, esp since consumers today are used to Amazon Prime. I hope it will continue to improve because I do want to support them and they do have good resources. But for now, acceptable and I may order again in the future. I love playing tennis and am grateful that Tennis Warehouse provides a lot of resources to help us players decide how to purchase our gear - video reviews, demo programs, forums on their website. I also follow them on IG to keep up to date on any sales or new product launches. Unfortunately, when it comes to the operations side of the business, TW falls short of many online retailers I've purchased from. The biggest issue I've experienced with them is with their in-stock inventory. Like many of the other reviewers have noted here, TW is not very transparent when it comes to what is in stock, especially if you place orders via the phone. So in short, buy from them only if you're mentally prepared Here's my full experience: I wanted to demo some racquets and liked the selection TW offered, and also needed help choosing a new racquet since I've been using an old Wilson Hammer from the 90's and had no clue how to purchase these new modern racquets. I called in and the rep was nice to help me choose 4 to send out for demo. All was fine until I got an email saying 2 out of the 4 were not available/on backorder. Had I not called in, they were just going to wait until all 4 racquets were available before shipping them out to me, so who knows when I would've received them. I refused to sit around clueless so proactively called and replaced the backordered racquets with other brands and moved on. I received the demo racquets and a promo code saying if I liked what I demo'ed and purchase my new racquet with them I'd get $25 off. Nice of them, right? So that is what I did - when I decided to buy, I called in to place my order for my Wilson Ultra 105s. The rep I spoke with said it's on backorder but they expected to receive it soon! As a matter of fact, on the same day and I could get it by end of the week! It was Monday so I said cool, sure. Full disclaimer I was not that sure they would actually ship out that fast because....Tennis Warehouse. I called the next day and sure enough, the racquet is not available yet and guess what......they gave me a new approximate in stock date of Feb 18, which is A MONTH LATER. How did we go from same week to a month later? Who knows, but your inventory and forecasting system is def broken. So I ask if they can send me the Ultra 105s demo racquet for me to use (my old racquet was giving me arm discomfort) and tie me over until I receive my new racquet which I think is the LEAST they could do. They said they don't demo racquets for more than a week..... and I was thinking well look, I'm trying to give you options before I just completely cancel my order okay? But if you want me to cancel I'm also happy to do that at this point. So now, the rep is speaking with their buyer who is trying to get a more accurate in-stock date because the date they gave me was not my grip size, and will call me back and fill me in. I'll update this review once everything is resolved... let's see how they handle this case. read more

My daughter needed her first pair of shoes for tennis. She is tricky to fit because her feet are too large for most women's shoes but men's are often too wide. After trying local big box stores we made a trip up to SLO to the warehouse. The young man who helped us brought us every shoe in her size in white as we requested. He did not offer much advice but also wasn't overly pushy. We found her a pair after trying several. We will be coming back for next year's shoes. read more

I was promised one day shipping. Shipping information wasn't given until the second day. Then it was rescheduled for the third day. On the third day the shipper complained they couldn't get through the security gate (there isn't any - it was just a lie to delay the shipment). Tennis Warehouse said it was probably lost and shipped out another. They said they've had a lot of trouble with that shipping company. Why do they continue to use them? The selection inside the store is quite limited. However, you can look on one of the computers in the store and search their entire warehouse inventory and they will bring you what you want to try on from the warehouse. TW used to be an incomparable internet store. Someone must have bought the company and turned into a lousy incompetent store. If you order any rackets and ask to string, it will take 15 days or more to get it. They are in CA and Atlanta. A bunch of lazy incompetent workers is ruining the company. It's not a computer chip company. It's a tennis equipment company! How incompetent you can be to take 15 days or more to get a lousy tennis racket when the company operates in the US?
