Lovely space in an older craftsman. They've made it feel warm with the deep blue and lovely artwork. Service was excellent. We shared the mushroom fettuccine and had rotating cider. So good! Nothing beats fresh pasta with a light creamy sauce, chunks of fresh mushrooms, and a hint of lemon. We savored every bite. Would highly recommend!

We loved Tenth House. It felt cozy and down to earth, the staff was friendly and thoughtful without being intrusive, and most of all the food was really delicious. Sometimes I find Italian Restaurants to be underwhelming, but we thoroughly enjoyed each dish (the bucatini was so good). We also had the focaccia with their special artichoke dip which also stood out for its freshness. I don't usually leave reviews but felt this place deserves a higher rating! Thanks for a delicious meal.

I was on vacation with my friends and we decided to try Tenth House. We were seated immediately and took our seats. We chose a very nice bottle of wine and chatted while we settled in. We started with the Peach and Heirloom Tomato. It was great. Like summertime on a plate. We ordered a bit of flatbread too which was a nice addition. We studied the menu because everything looked so very good. We decided to get four dishes and promised to share, just a bite with each other. Ha. I got the Verde Lasagna which was quite substantial and very tasty. My friends got the Dungeness Crab Alla Chitarra. Fantastic. Lamb Pappardelle Al Ragu that was deeply flavorful and quite rich. I was just a bit envious... My other friend ordered a pizza: The Walla Walla which came out so late we thought they'd forgotten about it altogether. We were all done with our dishes and finally it arrived. I didn't try any but I heard it was good but just a bit underdone. Perhaps because they forgot to make it and rushed. Not a big deal but a small mistake that threw off the rhythm of the meal just a tiny bit. We shared a piece of olive oil cake that was ok. The service was a bit inattentive and we wondered where our server had gone a few times. Atmosphere was nice as it was a perfect summer evening. Upscale but casual. All in all 8/10. We will be back again someday soonish. Thanks!

    Come on over! Welcoming entrance!

First time in San Juan islands for a girls trip over Memorial Day weekend. We grabbed spot at Tenth House and loved every minute of it. Super chill vibe and all the servers are super friendly. We ordered three apps, two entrees and one salad. The pace was great and we enjoyed every bite. We were informed everything is homemade and prep sometimes may take longer than anticipated. Grateful for the heads up but things did not take longer at all. Everything was great and all the plating was beautiful as well. To top it all off enjoying all the good food al fresco was nothing short of amazing! If I'm in the area again, I'll be sure to come again. Next time I hope the pizza oven is fired up. Found out it wasn't pizza night the night we were there.

1st it is not a say to find food options available at 8pm on a Saturday in June. This was a last minute takeout order. Definitely meant for a lovely meal onsite - very expensive for takeout. The are very very kind! The Caesar salad is with kale and the chicken parm is HUGE but spaghetti is an additional $8

This was the best meal we had on our trip. The bread was incredible, the MEATBALLS OMG (it was a special so I apologize if they don't have them but if they do you MUST try), and the lasagna was as good as home, chicken parm was better than home. My only complaint is that I don't live closer to come more often. Such a cute, homey vibe. 10/10 food. 10/10 service. 10/10 vibes.

SO TASTY! This was such a cute brunch find! It's located a bit off from the main busy strip of Friday Harbor in a standalone house with ample outdoor patio seating. It was three of us and we easily got a table outside around 10AM on a Sunday for brunch. Although it's a short menu, I had the hardest time deciding what to order! Everything sounded so delicious! All their food is sourced from local farms and bakeries on the island and across Skagit Valley. I opted with the BLT with and egg and a hot latte. The BLT was delicious! The perfect savory breakfast item with such fresh ingredients. The place itself has both indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. Service is great and we didn't feel rushed at all to finish our meals! I would definitely come here again to try another one of the entree options!

Food was great and tasted very fresh! The eggs in purgatory was delicious! The patio is dog friendly also which was perfect for us

Tenth House was my favorite restaurant my husband and I tried during our 4 day stay on San Juan Island! The vibe is modern but cozy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We loved the seating outside and had a nice honey hard cider to enjoy in the sun. We ordered the marinated olives, a chicory salad with beets and Bleu cheese, the dungeness crab linguine and the summer squash pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were super fresh and many of them locally sourced. This is a don't miss spot if you're visiting SJI!

Pig war pizza: I thought this was good but my friends said it was too salty. Maybe it was a tad salty but I think that's how all pork pizza is going to taste normally. 4.5/5 Fried chicken sandwich: I didn't really like this as much, I liked the sauce and it had a nice kick to it but the chicken was a tad dry and flavorless. 3.5/5 Philly cheesesteak: I enjoyed this, the steak and the melted cheese mixed together nicely with the bread to create a delicious experience. It is a bit expensive for a Philly cheesesteak though for its size and it's not anything super special. 4/5 Fries were also pretty good but they didn't come out hot. The food took a bit of time to come out but that is somewhat understandable since they were quite busy on a weekend night. I enjoyed the ambience, it definitely felt like a brewery and gave pub vibes but with solid food. 4.1/5

Our party of three visited for lunch at noon on a Thursday. Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately at a lovely table right by the window. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were incredibly courteous and friendly throughout our meal. We initially thought about starting with some small plates, but we were so eager for seafood that we jumped straight into the entrees. We weren't disappointed: Bouillabaisse: This was our first time trying this dish, and it was the highlight for us. It was incredibly flavorful--exactly what we were craving. Spicy Prawn Mac and Cheese: It definitely lived up to its name! It wasn't "blow-your-head-off" hot, but it had a perfect, noticeable kick that really elevated the dish. Blackened Cod Tacos: These were fantastic. The cod was perfectly prepared and worked so well with the rest of the taco ingredients. We also enjoyed a couple of non-alcoholic drinks that hit the spot, though I'll admit that since I'm writing this a couple of weeks later, I forgot to snag photos or the specific names of the drinks! They also have a really nice patio area if you prefer dining outdoors. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a great meal with a view, this place is a must-visit!

For the nature of the restaurant, we had hoped for our waitress to be more friendly and genuine. However, it felt like they just wanted to fulfill our order and be done. I ordered the South Sound Clams and Snapper Sandwich. Bathing in an umami-packed and rich Thai curry broth, the clams were tender and fresh with a bit of brine. Very good and shareable with one other person. The snapper sandwich wowed me! The bright escovitch and creamy avocado paired wonderfully with the snapper. Every bite was delightful. The house-made potato chips, however, were disappointing. They were thin, not crispy, and sticking to my teeth. If you can, substitute for fries or salad. Despite our subpar service, the delicious, well-priced food and beautiful scenery still make this the perfect date spot.

We decided to stop in for a quick meal before boarding the ferry back to the mainland. Given that…read morewe only had about half an hour before we had to get to the terminal, Vic's seemed like a good choice. I do have to comment - the name of this restaurant is strange. What exactly makes this restaurant a Drive-In? Considering there's no parking specifically for the place, no car hop service, nor any semblance of a drive through. Instead, it's street parking and typical counter service restaurant. On the window, they had signs for a crab cake sandwich, which we decided to order along with another burger. Even though this was on a weekend during the height of summer, there was only a single other party in the place throughout our meal. I guess most people show up later in the night? But then again, they close at 7PM, so I dunno. The food took about 10 minutes to come out. Deluxe Cheeseburger ($10.99) - Firstly the bun - it's a very thick sesame bun that seems to be homemade, or perhaps from a local bakery. It's toasted well until very darkened looking, but isn't dried out at all and is instead soft and fluffy. Tons of shredded lettuce, sliced onion, and tangy pickles, form a base layer on the bottom bun, glued on by a dollop of their secret burger sauce that's nicely creamy, sweet, and tangy. On top is a juicy ¼ pound patty that's cooked to perfection for a diner burger (e.g. well done, but not dried out at all). On top, of course, the melted, fatty cheese. Everything works together very well; this is just a very solid diner-style cheeseburger. There's not really much I could envision to improve it. (5/5) Crab Cake Sandwich ($14.99) - This is pretty much the same as above but without cheese and substituting the beef patty with a crab cake. The cake is fried well, giving a good crunchy breading, whereas the interior is soft and tender, mostly filler without any taste of crab. Seems to be a typical frozen crab cake, but expected for this price point. It's a salty and savory bomb that goes well with the rest of the ingredients. This sandwich comes with a giant pile of crinkle cut fries. Unlike most crinkle cuts I've had in the past, which are typically floppy and sad, these are fried relatively well, creating a decently crisp crust on the outside while maintaining a fluffy interior. I think if these were immersed in the oil for another 30 seconds to a minute, it would create a better experience? Regardless, these are pretty good fries. (4/5) Overall, I was pretty impressed with the food served at Vic's. I'm not sure why they don't have more business at night? It's probably one of the best (if not the best) diner burger on the island. Pricing is high, yes, but it's kind of expected since it's in a tourist area, not to mention on an island. I would happily return on any future visit to Friday Harbor. Bathrooms - Single unisex room Edit: After doing some more research, it seems this place used to be a drive-in. They had to modernize but kept the name.

It took a bit for someone to notice us, though a sign said to wait to be seated. Once we were seated, service was relatively quick, at least to get us started with drinks. My whiskey tasted like it had sat on the shelf for ages, not rotating stock. I had to have them take it back, though they tried to say it was my fault for ordering ice with my drink. The food all came out relatively quickly once we were able to place our order, but it was just okay. Nothing was spectacular, and after the initial impression, that did not bode well for the establishment. The one positive is that, unlike other very busy locations around Friday Harbor, they stayed open late and were able to seat us, though the reason for that was everything I've stated above, slower service, poor drinks, and just okay food. The lack of people frequenting the establishment should have been a red flag, but it was late and we were hungry. Needless to say, we did not return during our long weekend stay on the island and, unless they're the only folks open when you need a bite, I might suggest you look elsewhere.

However, it took quite a while for our food to arrive, and when it did, it wasn't very hot. I ordered my eggs over medium, but they came out overdone. From what I observed, the kitchen and counter staff seemed somewhat disorganized, which may have contributed to the long wait and cold food.
