Las Palmas has several locations across the area as a local Mexican food chain. This location is in the Red Mill Walk section of Red Mill Commons in Virginia Beach. The entrance is accessible when traveling southbound on Upton Drive. It isn't hard to see them from the road. My most recent visit here was on December 13, 2025. The outside of the place is hard to miss. It has vibrant colors and attracts a view there. When coming in, it was what I was expecting from prior visits. The inside of the place is big, so they could easily accommodate larger parties. They have free Wi-Fi, with the current password being "savewaterdrinktequila". It's fitting since they have a sign of it on the wall. They do have a bar area inside. It had been a little while since I had been here, so I thought this would be great for my birthday. My mom was here with me too on this visit. We came in at a time where it wasn't as busy yet, so we were immediately seated. Someone came over to ask about what we would want to drink, and another came with the chips, salsa, and white sauce. They came back around to see if we were ready, but it took us longer as they have a large selection. We did order the Las Palmas Dip in as an appetizer though. Eventually we were ready to order, and I decided to go with the full California Burrito (chicken) with the tortilla (I normally do a burrito bowl instead). My mom got the Fajita Quesadilla with ground beef as the protein. The timing of when the food came out was perfect. We had just finished the dip we had ordered. Everything came out hot and fresh. The California Burrito was heavenly. It definitely hit the spot since I don't do the tortilla normally. The flavors complemented each other it was done great. Later on, it did spike my blood sugar, but it isn't something I do too often anyways. I had to splurge for my birthday after all. My mom loved the quesadilla she had too. We were both full at the end of the meal. I forgot that they knew my birthday, so after we were done, the staff came around and put the sombrero on, did a birthday song, and got a shot of tequila. Overall, this was an excellent experience overall. This includes the food, the service and the overall atmosphere. It is definitely upbeat and has a positive vibe in there. The colors inside help with that. With high quality food and service, I will definitely come back more often, though maybe avoid the tortilla next time. If you are in the Red Mill area and looking for a place for Mexican food, this place is definitely one to visit.

Great visit again although this time, just for their Grande Margarita . Service is always excellent.....!!! Busy day today both inside and out on the patio..... About 20 Sailors are also in having a great time...!!!

The food is amazing. I am so happy. My tummy is excited. I had the Camarones Yucatan, and my son had a steak burrito. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection, and perfectly plated. The service was wonderful. We were greeted immediately upon entering, and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was lovely. Very nice, southwestern colors all around. I loved the painting of the Mayan temple and daily Mexican life. The booths were very comfortable, and the tables were the perfect height. Just enough sauce and condiments are already on the tables, so you can start your meal right away. The glitches occurred when we tried to pay for our meal. The restaurant lost its connection to Mastercard and Visa providers, so we had to dig for cash. Then they had a little hiccup providing change. No big deal, it all worked out in the end, but it took a little time what we were allotted for meal time. We will be back to try the margaritas when the city power grid allows. Wonderful new experience!

This is now our favorite mexican restaurant. Big menu, We have been coming since they have been open and ALL the food has been great. I am impressed because they give you plenty of everything including meat. They don't hold back. Quality of everything is really fresh. The brightest guacamole and the crispiest lettuce. My favorite part. EVERYTHING comes to you HOT. They bring you plenty of salsa and one time we ran out . Our server quickly brought us more. Friendliest Staff. Very attentive and upbeat happy energy. The servers are awesome about explaining the menu if you have questions. Communication with all the staff is really wonderful. There are so many really good drinks. They have a drink menu and the menu is huge. So are the drinks. LOVE LOVE LOVE the drinks. My personal fave is the Las Palmas "Coco" Margarita. Lovely to look at with all the fruit lining the rim. Inside is beautiful with Neon lights at the bar and beautiful paintings on the walls. Accents of mexican pottery everywhere. Very colorful. We love it. We even had friends come from Indiana for a visit and all 14 of them loved it. Service was spectacular that night too. Even with a big table of big eaters. They kept the drinks filled all night.

The service here is amazing!! We came on a Friday night and it was busy but not "wait 20 minutes for a table" kinda busy. It wasn't too loud but you could hear the music playing and you could still have a conversation at your table without having to scream. First out was the salsa and white sauce (look, I know some people are not fans but I am, I grew up in Hampton Roads so it's a staple, leave me alone about it) with fresh hot chips! Yum! The salsa was fresh and the white sauce was creamy. I like mixing them together to be honest. The kids ordered non-Mexican meals because my kids are uncultured swine (but I'm working on it) and they enjoyed their macaroni and cheese and cheeseburger. My husband ordered the lime steak served with broccoli and asparagus, it has a creamy cheese sauce on top. I took a bite and the steak was cooked to perfection! He was very pleased with his dish. I opted for the carne asada fries burrito smothered in cheese. The burrito included black beans, fries, carne asada, guacamole, sour cream, and cilantro. An excellent choice! It was huge and after stuffing my face with too many chips I was only able to eat half. That just means I have a lil snack for later! What was really great about this Las Palmas was the attentive service by everyone who worked there. Our waiter even made sure the kids were happy by giving them lollipops after our meal. The kids loved it and felt special. This is now my go-to Mexican restaurant in the Red Mill area! Nobody can compare!

I've been here with friends a few times now and they're really great! The staff is really friendly and connects well with customers. It seems an upbeat place to work and hang out at. Their grilled chicken tacos are amazing! Flavor is delicious and always a good pile of rice and beans. Double layer of corn tortilla so they don't break. Their tomatillo salsas are no joke, the brown is tasty and a little spicy but the red one is a nice spicy challenge for me. Cell service is lousy out there so they kindly post their Wi-Fi for folks to use. It's across the parking lot from the big Target in Red Mill. Sadly, last time I was there, some jerk kid horsing around with his grown father broke the lady skeleton's head. They have these porcelain figures on a bench behind the counter, with a sign, and some jerks saw fit to be careless over there and broke her. :(

It was a beautiful evening. Our server was Lauryn, and she was great. She was nice and attentive but not worrisome. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with the house made Sangria. As an entree, I had the whiskey burger with truffle fries. I really liked the cheese curds; they're a lot flavorful than traditional mozzarella sticks. The house made sangria was really good too! We had to stop ourselves from just sucking it down. The burger is where I had the issue. It was a little on the dry side.... Too well done despite asking for medium. It also wasn't seasoned well. The only flavor rally came from the bbq sauce and onion straws. The truffle fries were good though. The menu said they won't best burger of Virginia Beach, and that was made me get a burger. Not the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I will try the pizza and probably go to the Shore drive location since that is closer to my house. The servers and staff are observant and focused on small details that really set Heirloom apart. I especially love the part of the dining room filled with lush hanging plants. We visit several times a year and are always impressed by the quality. We always order the She Crab soup and a Wedge Salad as appetizers to share. They are both so good, I'd probably request them as my last meal! The She Crab soup is absolute perfection, creamy and full of lump crab. I will not order She Crab soup anywhere else after trying theirs. The wedge has pickled onions, candied bacon, blue cheese and some kind of marinated or pickled tomato. Paired all together to make the perfect bite. We have tried a lot of the menu, it does rotate around seasonally, but there are some items that are consistent. The burger was absolutely decadent but not overwhelming. I usually order the "secret", not so secret Shrimp dinner that's not on the menu anymore. You get 6 of their amazing fried shrimp, a magical dipping sauce (cant' describe it!), and 2 sides. (see what's their seasonal sides!) Heirloom will remain one of our favorite places in the 757 to celebrate special occasions!

She was friendly, attentive, and always seemed to show up right when we needed something. The head chef also stopped by our table and was incredibly kind and genuinely invested in making sure everyone was enjoying their meal. That level of hospitality really made the experience feel special. The meal started with a complimentary amuse-bouche of roasted golden beets, goat cheese, candied walnuts, and balsamic. It was a classy little bite that got the evening off to a great start. Then came the sweet potato biscuits with apricot jam...listen, I could've eaten an entire basket of those and been perfectly happy. For my entrée, I ordered the crab cakes with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. These are the kind of crab cakes people are looking for. Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

The hot dogs are thick, so your not getting a wimpy hot dog, it's meaty!! Lol. It might have been too much meat for me almost. You definitely get your money's worth!!
