stay away from bartender Beth (elizabeth)!! entitled workers extremely rude to paying customers. My group had ordered beers from the bartender working on the clock when a woman approached us quoting to "get the f*** out of her seat" and further explains she was outside smoking and saw us steal her seat. no seats can be reserved at the bar so we were utterly confused. she went on to tell us she works there, insisted the seat was hers and was even behind the counter when she was not on the clock. you would think if you work there you would want paying customers to stay and not cuss them out.

Great spot for a hangout with buddies! The vibe is good & def recommend if you're looking for a chill bar to catch up and enjoy some good times.

Chill spot to pop by on a rainy Saturday. Warm lighting with a dark interior, this bar off the beaten path is quiet but not without character. The bartender was sweet, and the menu boasts what looks like a great beer and a shot deal. Glad we stopped in!

Pretty fun bar with a great atmosphere -- the bartenders are really nice and there was constant old school hip hop playing. If you can get there early enough, there is one booth-style seating upstairs that you can grab with your friends. Drinks were really good, mostly tequila & mezcal focused (obviously lol). The cocktail bar is really simple but strong & tasty. They can make drinks off menu or adjust the drink to your liking. Nice place to go for happy hour :) parking sucks here btw but there is a lot around the corner that's fairly reasonably priced for SF

Great bar with great service and drinks! Can't bear their happy hour prices and the selection they have.

Elcer was the absolute best bartender I've had in the city in I don't know how long.,, He screamed "best bar ever" I don't know how many times to hype the crowd. How amazing. It got everyone in great spirits, ordering more liquor and shots and just simply having fun. I parked right out front on a Sunday afternoon for a little get together. I was first to arrive and this man helped me to feel comfortable, welcome and fix me a shot (or 2) and really have fun. What a gem this guy Elcer is. Whoever manages this place needs to know you got a real winner with this one! He's the reason I'll keep coming back and bring my friends. The music was good, but he asked how can he make it better? Like, what did the customers want? He played some serious old school east bay and the crowd was hyphe as well as enjoying the day. Thank you boo. I'll be back to this spot many times and tell my friends because the bartender listens and pleases!!! Thank you!

The drinks was amazing. I never had a tequila old fashion till i came here and now I want one every time I go out. My bar tender was amazing too. Drinks were very well priced for enjoying a day in the city

Came here for a drink with my boo on a Friday night and we had a good time! It wasn't busy at all so there was plenty of space at the bar. They have a cocktail menu if you're not sure what to get. We ordered off the menu and the cocktails were tasty (and so refreshing), the bartender was friendly, and we'd definitely come back here to enjoy more cocktails!

As you look through the many Yelp reviews you'll see that people either left a great review or a terrible review, and nothing in between. This leads me to believe that your experience will likely be unique to you and you're either going to hate Tequila Mockingbird or love it. Fortunately for me, I loved it! I hesitantly decided to come check out Tequila Mockingbird despite seeing so many 1 Star reviews because despite being a Yelper, I know that Yelp reviews aren't always too reliable (mine are though, so you can rely on mine lol). I'm glad that I decided to explore my curiosity because I had a great experience. I came here after work and sat at the bar because I typically enjoy interacting with bartenders and you usually get faster service that way. During my visit, I was able to try the Evil Kenevil, Tequila Mockingbird, and the Eighty Sixed. The good news is that all of the drinks were absolutely delectable, the bad news is that I can't tell you which one I enjoyed more. In addition to great drinks, the bartender, whose name has since slipped my mind, was phenomenal. She was conversational, kind, genuine, and I never felt forgotten (I apologize in advance if I incorrectly assumed your preferred pronoun). The décor is quaint and the ambience is relaxed and refreshing. I can't speak for how things are in the later evenings, but I definitely recommend Tequila Mockingbird for late afternoon happy hours. But anyways, I encourage you to go beyond my review and find out for yourself. Cheers!

Looking for a casual place to grab some drinks in the Financial District? Tequila Mockingbird is your place to go! It's pretty small inside, but the interior is decorated beautifully with a huge mirror placed in the middle of the bar. It looks like most of the seating is at the bar on the first floor (didn't go up to the upper floor), but the bartender we had was nice and welcoming! She answered all the questions we had patiently and had our drinks out really quickly. We walked over here around 7:30pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty (I love that!). Being in a pandemic, packed bars don't make me feel the most comfortable. Among the group, we ordered Hennessy shots and their tequila cocktails. I ordered the Purple Rain for $12, which is the average price for a cocktail. It had blanco, lemon, elderflower, and hibiscus syrup. Might be biased since we came here after a Happy Hour from Uno Dos Tacos up the street, but felt like the cocktails were pretty STRONG. I was definitely feeling it after some time had passed! If you're looking for a solid, tasty tequila cocktail that's also strong, you've come to the right place.

Can't believe I took a sip of this. You can clearly see the wings on this one.

FIVE FLIES IN MY DRINK. YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY. FIVE FLIES. This was a bar we rented out multiple times and also recommended to friends if they were looking to host a private event, but this will be the last. Our best friends rented out this place on a Saturday night for an event per our recommendation. We ordered 2 cocktails from the only bartender after waiting for 20 mins. Received our drinks, took a sip out of mine, and I noticed a fly in it. As I examined further I saw 4 more flies in my glass. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, DISGUSTING. What makes this story even better is that when I showed the bartender (named Angel) he just quickly took my drink (without saying anything) and went to make a new one. When I asked for some type of compensation, he said "I already remade your drink. I can't give out free drinks. I already gave your friends that rented the place free drinks." What the hell does that have to do with the flies in my drink. Didn't you just say you can't give out free drinks, but also said you gave my friends free drinks in the same sentence? Make it make sense. I wasn't asking for free drinks, just to be compensated for the one that had flies in it (which we still paid for btw). I even showed him the video of the flies and told him I was going to put it on Yelp - he nodded as if he could care less. Do yourself a favor and DON'T go here. There are tons of nicer, cleaner bars in the city with amazing service that deserve your hard earned money rather than this pathetic excuse of a bar. But if you want to be stubborn and still go here make sure you tell them to, "Hold the flies".

    Vanessa M.

Came in here after drinking mimosas. This place is so cute and the bartender is amazing. We request music and it was played! His name is Angel and his customer service was exceptional.

The escape room is Alice In Wonderland themed and includes three drinks as part of the experience. Arrived on time for our reservation but were held in a waiting room for about 30 min before we could start. Friendly, great banter, helpful throughout the escape. The escape game is split across multiple rooms with a good diversity of puzzles. Don't want to spoil too much here but they were good challenges. Drinks we incorporated throughout and presented like test tubes that were drinkable in a gulp, kind of like a cocktail shot. Personally, I found the first two drinks to be a bit too sweet, but I liked the third, which was coconut forward. The price is definitely a bit more costly. It was $100/person for a party of five. I understand that it was an escape room + the staff + the cocktails. If you max out the party size, it's about $85-ish per person which I think is pretty solid. Still very unique and fun and glad I got to try it

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

Our favorites were the donburi (of course) and the dashi apple mocktail. Some cons: - how expensive it was for the amount of food. Some reviews mentioned the donburi was tiny (which it was) - no bigger than my hand. - Almost all the dishes we got were finger foods but kind of hard to eat. The ceviche with the nori chips would fall apart. The dark nori seasoning got all over our hands and was difficult to get off with just the cloth napkin. The shoji burger was covered in cheese which we assumed was finger food since they didn't offer any knives. The donburi was filled to the top in this bowl which was small so you have to be very careful scooping out. In addition, the seasoning from the seaweed was a bit oily as well. Maybe offering a wet wipe or napkin at the end of the meal would be a nice touch. I guess it was a bit confusing given the elevated / upscale vibe it was giving off but could improve in the small details. Not sure if I can say I recommend or not but would be willing to give it another chance. Perhaps try the experience inside instead.
