My family and I met here for lunch this afternoon. Not only did I have a pleasant experience but the food I had was great. We came during what seemed to be their peak lunch hour. There was plenty of parking around the restaurant despite a lot of people being there. We came in and were immediately seated, and got a booth as we requested. First appearance was it's a very casual dress spot but you could dress up for a date experience if you wanted, overall laid back in that regards. The facility itself was VERY clean, I was impressed how clean the menus smelled as well. That made me feel reassured to go ahead and order whatever I felt like cos I'm sure the kitchen is clean too. I had read other reviews before I came in that weren't great for various reasons however those same reviews no one checked in so I wasn't sure how valid they were. I went with my gut and just ordered things I liked without regarding other people's thoughts. Immediately after being seated we received complimentary bowl of chips and some salsa. Soon after our waiter Juan came over to take our drink orders. We didn't order any alcoholic beverages however a lot of people dining around us did so I'm sure the drinks are popular here. Our waiter was really friendly and funny, he made us all laugh a couple times with some witty jokes throughout dining. I ordered guacamole bowl with the chips, it was fresh/good but honestly I liked the salsa a lot despite the negative reviews. I did not think it tasted like pasta sauce, it was flavorful and herbed well. I'm more of a fan of thick salsa however this was a nice regular salsa. I liked the salsa so much I order another thing of chips and salsa to the table during the time I was there. My parents both got the chimichangas. They didn't complain so I'm guessing they were happy with it. I ordered some lunch special called burrito verde or something (it had pork in it). I actually asked them to substitute the verde sauce for mole sauce instead, which was no problem. I also ordered a side of refried beans cos I wanted to try them, it wasn't listed as a side to order but once again they accommodated (& the price charged was fair). Someone said in previous reviews the mole sauce was sweet and not earthy like traditional mole. This was the second item I tested that did not match the negative review I read. I thought the mole sauce had tons of flavor, was the right consistency, and perfect amount to make the burrito wet and flavor the pork. To be honest I think the mole went great with the pork I would order it that way again for sure. Also someone said the meat came in chunks, my pork was shredded and not in chunks so I have no clue what that person was talking about either. BTW the food came out very promptly after ordering no funny business waiting and filling up on chips. EVERYTHING was done in a timely manner, which is hard to find in Ohio. The refried beans tasted good I believe they might have been made in house, they did not taste like from a can so that was really exciting for my taste buds. The refried beans also tasted good dipping the chips into as well. After filling up on this amazing lunch special I sat back and digested in my comfy booth seat while catching up with family. When my parents were in conversation together I was able to watch the TVs on the wall nearby which was cool. We hung out awhile catching up and were not bother by our waiter unless we needed a drink refill which was very polite and not overbearing. Unfortunately we were all very full so none of us got to try dessert, next time I will tho. Overall I'm giving this 5 stars because I went in with lower expectations after reading reviews to find out things were way better than wrote up. Based on my experience and reading reviews I'd say since a lot of people who wrote negatively didn't check in, so it's probably a local competitor trying to shift business. I've been to Los Gallos that place has gross food and is overpriced for lunch specials even with the coupons they have in local flyers. There's really not much Spanish food restaurants in boardman/Poland/canfield area, this is now my new favorite spot. I like that it's located off the freeway and not deep in canfield where cops get bored and give speeding tickets all day cos it's 25 mph :) The place was really clean which also was why I gave a 5 star. Parking lot was safe and in good condition no pot holes. The waiter Juan was accommodating and nice to my family as if it was his family. THE PRICES for lunch special were spot on. The surroundings were newer, well lit modern, good cushioning on booth, and nice TVs made for a really nice dining experience. The menu has tons of stuff to chose from!! The menu I seen online & on yelp didn't completely match the one I ordered from today as there were tons of new items added. Fist off the food is amazing. Next the service is amazing beyond anyplace else. Food is out in less than ten minutes the sit you right away and the waiter is there in less than 2 minutes. Great place I go here once a week for the past 2 years and have never had a bad meal or service. The waiters are polite andcheck on you constantly. I have order almost every item on the menu not a bad item on a menu. The owner is very nice and checks on you. The greatness of this restaurant can't be described in words you have to just eat for yourself it is just outstanding. If you are not from around here and looking for a chill place to have a great time and enjoy some great service and amazing food. Also the restaurant is quiet so no loud visitors everybody is respectful and quiet if I was to give a honest rating it would be 11/10. read more

I don't think we have ever waited more than a few minutes for someone to wait on us. This used to be Agave Azul before they moved into the building that was the Stockyard Market. It's still the best Mexican restaurant in the area by far! Lunch is inexpensive and blazingly fast - less than five minutes from order to table usually. Dinner entrees also come out quickly. The salsa is made in the kitchen and is really tasty. If you haven't been here do yourself a favor and try it out - you won't be disappointed. read more

I am a vegetarian and I travel the state for work. I ask for a quesadilla with mushrooms and he came back he said he only had a quesadilla with mushrooms tomatoes and onions. I said okay if that is all you have... what kind of Mexican restaurant can't make a mushroom quesadilla? Of course the quesadilla came and it was all tomatoes and onions only 5 pieces of mushroom in the whole thing ! I will pass on this place next time and I suggest you do the same! read more

Was in town visiting family and they brought us here. Excellent choice! Tons of options on the menu -- something for everyone. Service is on point with chips and salsa arriving as soon as you sit down. The chicken enchiladas with a generous side of rice was terrific -- chicken breast was fresh, moist, and filling. Full bar, including margaritas, pina coladas and more. Manuel, Jerry, and Carlos are friendly and professional and pull out the stops to deliver a memorable and delicious dining experience. While on vacation in OH, we needed something that reminded us of home (AZ) and wasn't Italian, so we stopped in here based off the reviews. The chips and salsa were great. I ended up getting mole chicken enchiladas (special order) and was pleasantly surprised. As a huge mole fan, I was a little nervous, but it turned out pretty good. Was a bit sweeter than the more traditional earthy taste, but I defiantly enjoyed it. The wait staff was super friendly and fast. Food was fast, refills were fast and even the bill was fast--no it was not closing time. Two reason I give it a 3/5: 1) Living in AZ, I've definitely had more authentic with richer flavor and 2) The kids menu, although has lots of options, did not deliver in quality or taste. read more

We visited this spot after our disappointing experience at another Mexican location this past Sunday. Our server was friendly and for the most part kept up with drinks and service. Our chips and salsa could have used a little work in the freshness department. My seafood quesadilla was good but I would have liked more onions and peppers and the shell was over done. I love this place. I don't live around here anymore but I make my parents take me here almost every time I come to visit (They also eat here frequently despite the fact that neither of them are big mexican food fans) Everything tastes very fresh and delicious and if you're health concious their fajitas are a great choice they come with a much more robust mix of vegetables than you usually get. First impressions of a Mexican restaurant is always the chips and salsa. This restaurant fails that first impression. The salsa was very "Italian" tasting. Like it was seasoned like spaghetti sauce. Weird. And they had no sliced pickled jalapeños. I was able to get fresh jalapeños however. Cheese dip was good, but if the salsa was decent I wouldn't have to pay $3.50 for cheese. For the entree I got three crispy beef tacos. They were okay. Nothing special. Plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area that make better. Service was good. Waiter and busser work hard.
