Omg! When I first came to this shopping center/eatery I said the only thing missing is a Sushi spot. Here you go folks! In the heart of the Arts District there you now have a Teppanyaki spot! LOVE LOVE LOVE this new addition! They need to get some balloons out and really advertise better. Not sure anyone knows it's open yet! But it definitely is. The grill menu is yummy. Rice is so yummy! Sushi is actually fresh. My kids are in sushi heaven! So am I. Welp there goes the cooking idea for the new year. We are somewhat of sushi addicts. The Teriyaki chicken was equally good.

Nice and clean place. Food was great. Enjoyed their spider They even have an ongoing 10% opening discount for a few months.

The wait is long, but the sushi is fresh and delicious. I've tried almost all of their sushi and it's always consistent.

My cook name was Raz and he was pretty good. He was quick, very polite accommodating and professional. I was surprised they didn't make us wait for a whole table to fill up like most hibachi's do. The food was really good and the drinks were ok. Only issue was the drinks took a long time to be prepared which I didn't understand because there were only a handful of full of people there and they were wrapping it up when I arrived. This was overall a great dining experience and I'm sure I'll return for another experience.

While visiting Alexandria, we decided to grab dinner at a Japanese steakhouse. After a quick Google…read moresearch, we landed on Sake Japanese Steakhouse. Now I'll be honest--when we first pulled up, it looked a little sketch. But the reviews were solid (4+ stars), so we said why not--and went for it. I had a party of 11, and we were seated within minutes, which was a huge plus! The place wasn't too crowded, a bit on the smaller side, and didn't have all the usual flair and flames you might expect from a Japanese steakhouse--but hey, we were already in, so let's go! The staff was friendly overall. Our waiter Genard really tried to keep up with our large group. He missed a few things here and there, but nothing major--overall, he did a decent job. Let's get into the food... The salad came out nice and cold, but that ginger dressing? Whew... not for me. It tasted really heavy on the mayo and overpowered the ginger flavor. I sent it back and got the ginger dipping sauce instead--and that actually worked much better! The soup was hot and fresh like it should be. It had mushrooms (not my thing), so I just pushed those to the side. Now the main event--the food was GOOD! I actually loved that they added vegetables like peas and carrots into the rice--nice little touch you don't always see. The shrimp was tender, the chicken was delicious, and I really appreciated how finely chopped it was instead of big chunks--it made it more tender and soaked up that teriyaki flavor perfectly. The vegetables were cooked just how I like them--crisp broccoli, carrots, onions... flavorful and not overcooked at all. And let's not forget the plum wine--nice, cold, sweet, and exactly what I needed after a long day running around with kids for spring break. It definitely hit the spot! And the BEST part? The pricing! Very reasonable--especially compared to Japanese Hibachi in other cities! $30 for a combo is ALWAYS a win! Overall, we had a really good time. Most of the group enjoyed their food--maybe one or two minor complaints, but nothing major. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. If you're in Alexandria, it's worth checking out!

I was here for lunch around noon and the sushi looked ok, but not particularly fresh. (I'm not saying it wasn't fresh, just that it looked like it had been sitting around). It tasted fine. There is a broccoli with chicken and broccoli with beef stir fry. The broccoli in each were outstanding. Fresh, crisp and delicious. Two baked fish entrees (salmon and a white fish) - both were very good. Nothing fancy - just tasty fish. There's a fried fish (tilapia or some type of white fish) that was very good. The breading was tasty and not too thick. There's a cocktail sauce on the salad bar that is good and goes well with this dish. The hot and sour soup was tasty. Broth was a little thick, likely from corn starch. Less corn starch and the soup would be great (although some people like a thick broth). I didn't do the hibachi. There's also a chocolate fountain that I didn't use. There's a nice variety of fresh fruit. And I was impressed by the juiciness of the oranges and the melon. Extensive salad bar and good selection of items for dessert. Overall, a good buffet at a good price point for lunch and, I think, also for dinner. The servers were friendly and worked to remove plates and to keep drinks from going empty. The place is large and comfortable.

Even without a reservation, I was seated immediately, which was a great first impression. The service was excellent. Our server mentioned it was her first day, but you would never have guessed as she was attentive, warm, and handled everything beautifully. The food truly stood out. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The hibachi experience was just as enjoyable. It took a few minutes for someone to come to the register but I wasn't in a rush so I waited quietly. The kitchen looked very clean and well organized. I didn't check out the restrooms but they are available for customers. I don't blame the establishment but I wrongly assumed the fried rice would be Japanese style. The lady cashier took over and things went much smoother. We ordered, paid, and waited. While we waited we asked questions about the food on the hot bar and the lady that was tending to that didn't understand a single word of English and I struggle translating Spanish words in the correct order to make a sentence. LoL! I know the words but can't put them in the right order so there was a language barrier happening here. LoL! Some of the food on the hot bar looked like it had been sitting for quite some time under the lamp and it looked very dried out. I ordered the beef teriyaki, my husband ordered the chicken / beef / shrimp teriyaki, and our daughter had the chicken teriyaki. We ordered extra Yum Yum sauce to go with it. I didn't taste everyone else's this time because I was hyper focused on mine. The Beef Teriyaki was bland. There was no flavor until I dipped the beef in the Yum Yum Sauce. I asked for steam white rice and I received fried rice. Long review short, I didn't eat this because I'm going to have to add some seasonings from home to hype it up for it to be good. My husband on the other hand enjoyed his dish because of the shrimp. Our daughter ate a big portion of hers. She didn't say whether or not she liked it. 2.5 Stars.
