I recently went to Teriyaki Time for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by the huge selection of choices on the menu. I had avoided eating here because I thought it only had teriyaki. I ordered the healthy vegetarian sushi and the vegetable ramen. First, the sushi. Not a fan. At all. The sushi roll would not stay together. It had an odd combination of veggies including lettuce and there was some sweet sauce on the side (the kind of sauce sometimes served with spring rolls). It was easily the worst vegetarian sushi I've ever had. As for the ramen, it was delicious. I ordered the spicy option and it was definitely spicy. Next time I would order it without the large amount of egg, but that is a personal preference. The flavor of the broth was excellent and it's the best ramen I've found (for vegetarians) in the North Sound. read more

I'm a real big fan of teriyaki places and this place is good. While visiting Anacortes for work I decided to look up local teriyaki places and stopped by this place tonight. I ordered the Super combo, which included chicken teriyaki, an egg roll, and gyoza. I also decided to add in 2 pieces of shrimp tempura. Let me go ahead and start with the shrimp tempura. There wasn't anything special about it. It wasn't different from any other place that you can order it from. Again with the gyoza nothing to write home about, as well as the egg roll was just like most places. The salad was again like most places again. The chicken was nice and tasty, they placed the right amount of sauce on it so I didn't need to add any more into it. The building that its in is a small 4 store building, looking at it from 11th street it seems as though there is no parking besides across the street, but if you go around, there is another entrance in the "back" with plenty of parking. Overall this place was all right. The food is a bit pricy but I believe it's worth it. Its a lot better then some places and not as good as others but I can't complain about enjoying it. read more

This was my third time doing take out from Teriyaki Time. It's located in the small plaza across the parking lot from Safeway and it looks totally nondescript. Don't be fooled! This place is awesome, and it's usually busy at lunch and dinner! I always order #8: Katsu Chicken, which is a breaded chicken cutlet that comes with rice, teriyaki sauce, and salad. It's a huge amount of food, and so I get dinner and plenty of leftovers, which is nice! My husband and I also love their chicken yakisoba, beef teriyaki, and gyoza. My husband goes more often than me and he says he has never been disappointed with anything on the menu. We don't eat seafood, so we cannot speak to that side of the menu, but I'm sure it's good. Takeout can be slow, but it's worth the wait. We usually drop in to place our order, and then run a quick errand or two while we wait. There are two or three fridges of bottled drinks or choose from and there are probably other options for those who choose to eat there. Lots of people eat there, and there is a sushi bar, too! It was my first time in Anacortes so I asked a local where to get dinner. He told me the best sushi in town was at Teriyaki Time. Admittedly I felt a little unsure because the name wasn't super appealing. I arrived at 5:50pm and it was already pretty busy and the space overall is not big. However, its a seat yourself joint so that takes the waiting and guess work out of whether or not they have a seat for you. I sat at the sushi bar watching Jun cut and prepare sushi. Jun was incredibly quick, thoughtful and interesting to witness. The waitstaff though clearly new, were attentive and frequently referred to Jun for support which means I was treated like a queen being at the sushi bar. I had the dragon roll, the tako nigiri, Inari, and salmon belly. Every bite I had was delicious and even more appealing as I got to watch it be made. I got to watch Jun debone the same salmon that I would eat only 15 minutes later. It was melt in your mouth good. In total I paid $28 before tip. read more

Teriyaki Time has been one of our go-to restaurants in Anacortes since they opened. We have always received very good food at a reasonable price which is why I am baffled to what we received last night. The ordering on the phone didn't go well. The man who answered was impatient and hung up on me half way through the order. I called back to place the order and the same person said they were closing at 8:30 even though their hours state 9pm as closing time. When I got the meal (chicken and rice) home, the chicken was dry and over cooked. There was hardly any teriyaki sauce on the chicken and only one small container of sauce. It's sad that the best part of the meal was the small salad. I hope this was a one-time occurance. read more

Then they called me 20 minutes later and said, sorry, several tables came in and we have to delay your order another 25 minutes. Embarrassing, disgraceful service. We went for lunch on Friday and our drinks they gave us were in bottles, I went to open it and noticed it didn't fizz and looked and it had expired 2 months prior. My husbands was the same. We asked for a new drink, the waitress said went to look and was not able to find any that hasn't expired. Then when the food came there were bugs flying around everywhere. We ended up just paying and leaving and eating elsewhere honestly we shouldn't have paid. It was dirty , there were bugs flying around everywhere inside , inside the bathrooms and by the tables, expired stuff, if they aren't paying attention to the little stuff , how much else was expired . Will never eat there or go there again. Will be reporting to the health department . Disgusting!!!! read more

Food is actually good! The problem is if you come when its busy and order sushi in addition to your meal. The guy making the sushi operates on a different program than the cashier taking orders and the kitchen. Carry out meal was ready in 20 mins, however it took an hour and 10 mins before the sushi roll was ready. I totally understand places being busy during this time, just no sense of urgency from sushi chef. Easy to heat food back up with carry out, but be prepared to wait if you want sushi. read more

Mandatory stop on our way to San Juan island. Teriyaki chicken gyoza combo is fantastic and big enough for two to share. It's all about their chargrilled chicken. So good! It's not the fastest so we've learned to call it in ahead of time if we're tight on time trying to make the ferry. Highly recommend this place. I'm writing this as I sit on the porcelain princess immediately following not only the worst dining experience in recent memory, but the worst sushi I have ever had. Let's start with the dining. On top of the fact that we couldn't get a refill or a check, they brought out our rolls one at a time, with what they KNEW was our preschoolers California roll, last. He is well behaved to a point, but who in their right mind serves a small child several minutes after the parents! To add insult to injury, one customer proceeded to have a very loud, boisterous Skype call for the duration of his and our meals (thanks wait staff for the non-intervention). Now the sushi. Obviously at least some of the fish was bad, given my current reporting location. On top of that, it was the worst rolled sushi I have ever seen. My wife offered a Dynamite Roll, which came out cut into pieces 3/4" thick by 4-5" across. What are you supposed to do with that without a plate, fork, and a dinner knife?! The rest of our rolls were so loose they fell apart on first contact, caused partly by not even getting rice all the way around the sea weed paper (hello, the rice is the binder). I am not normally a big teriyaki chicken fan. Today was windy rainy and it just sounded good. I have walked by this place many times. I ordered the regular sized spicy chicken, the large was one $ more. It took about 10 minutes to get. There were a lot of call in orders ahead I think. The chicken arrived hot and not to saucy. It came with 2 scoops of rice and a nice fresh salad. I will definately go back. They had some good looking soups on the menu too. I have had lots of Teriyaki before, and this one is, meh .. ok The beef tasted bland & lacking juicy fat flavor, must be very cheep cuts .. and I did not see any searing marks on the beef at all. Similar taste with the chicken, but if you get the Spicy Chicken, it kinda makes up for it .. again I did not see any searing marks. On the other hand, the Spicy Ramen (with egg) was quite good. But to be honest .. I've only had restaurant ramen here (and the dry package stuff at home). I know the teriyaki is traditionally broiled or grilled .. but the beef & chicken tasted bland. I am guessing it was cooked before and placed in a steam pan to be kept warm. read more

My partner and I had dinner here on 8/2/18 and were very impressed. He is vegan and their broccoli stir fry (no protein) and brown rice was delicious. I had the same, with chicken, and thought it was great. They even cooked his without oil. Service was friendly and good, but there was one server for the entire restaurant, which got busy and service slowed down. All the food looked really good. read more

We came for the first and last time today. I ordered a tuna roll which was falling apart and the fish was warm!!!! And I also ordered beef fried rice which had zero flavor to it. The food is great but the employees are very rude. The woman who is typically the cashier was extremely rude to me when I called Teriyaki Time after discovering that my order had been done incorrectly. Normally I wouldn't mind a small mistake, but I was missing two extra sides of rice, teriyaki sauce, and the sushi was not customized. I ordered online because it is an easy site to navigate and it's easy to customize items, but this order seemed to be prepared with no regard for any customizations that I'd paid for. I realized this once I got home, so I called Teriyaki Time to see if I could receive the items that had been left out and if I could have my sushi re-made. She asked me to explain what was wrong with the order then sighed and handed the phone to someone else right after I started to answer her question. When I went back to pick up my corrected order, she had only given me one of the two sides of rice and she became aggravated when I let her know that I'd actually ordered 2, not just 1. After that, she started cutting me off to tell me "goodbye", as I was nearly being pushed out the door. The whole situation was quite uncomfortable and I was only trying to get the items I rightfully paid for. As a frequent, paying customer this situation really turned me off to eating there. read more
