Food is decent but verify prices before you place your order. The prices on yelp are way off. I ordered chicken teriyaki for 5.75 and gyoza for 3.99. I didn't double check my total when I picked it up and only later discovered my total was $16.36!! I called and was told price for chicken was 9 something and gyoza was 6 something. I've had two friends recently recommend I try this place. I stopped going a couple years back, simply preferring the other teriyaki joint in town. But I heard their sushi is now worth trying. I was hungry, so why not? I walked in around 7:30pm, three occupied tables in the place. As I stood at the front door, the waitress made eye contact almost immediately, then avoided any recognition for the next 5 minutes. She passed right next to me three more times before the cashier toward the back hollered at me to sit anywhere I'd like. When I finally sat, no one brought me water or a menu for several more minutes. I just sat while two waitresses swirled around me, with another standing at the cashier booth. One of the waitresses came to take the order of an adjacent table, and partway she silently reached over and deposited a menu on my table. She then left their table, presumably to ring up their order in the POS. I generously gave her another minute or so before I left. No fewer than seven minutes I was in the restaurant, where the only verbal interaction was a cross-restaurant shout to seat myself. Me being the fourth occupied table, there were four servers (two waitresses, the cashier, and the sushi chef) who knew of my presence and failed to even acknowledge me. The only reason I'm giving this two stars, and not one, is because the menu looked appealing, as say my friends. If I ever return, I'll rate the place on the merits of its food. read more

I read the other reviews before we went there. I found the 1 and 2 star notices interesting. My wife and I went there today for her birthday. 1. We were given a warm and friendly greeting when we walked in the door. 2. We were seated in less the 30 seconds 3. We had menu's and water in less than 1 minute. 4. We ordered after 2 minutes 5. We had our food on the table in less than 12 minutes, which is reasonable if you're cooking from scratch. My wife had the summer roll appetizer and I had the sweet and sour. All in all, an enjoyable experience that I would recommend. read more

Every thing on this Menu is done well. The tea is flavorful and a great addition to the meal. It's a causal place where fishermen and the marina crowd frequent for the quality meals. I'm a regular. This restaurant is very bad as far as understanding simple english, and messed up three orders, and a fourth order of salmon teriyaki was brought to my 8 year old son and salmon was streaming hot! But refrigerator cold in center! And they just say, "ohhh it's fresh it's fresh!" We ordered a salmon teriyaki not sushi. But we still tried to make it a good time and waited an extra 15 minutes for salmon. They had to be reminded to bring utensils, sauces, and the lady had an attitude the whole time. We tried to ignore and when it came time to pay she tried charging salmon twice. But I caught it. And made her ring it up one by one. (Watch out! ) we had a long day we were in the nearby islands and just wanted a good meal to make the rest of our drive home, and I never like writing bad reviews unless I feel like a restaurant/business is very below average. read more

Prices are high and food is nothing special. They pour a lot of creamy sauce over the "salad" (just sliced lettuce), without asking if the customer wants it or not. They also charge $1.50 extra (plus tax on top of that) for white meat, which the menu does not state anywhere and the person taking your order (the owner for our table that day) does not bother to mention. The person just asks, "White or dark meat?" for the chicken teriyaki as if one had an option with no change in price. WRONG! Found out the hard way after the bill came. The only reason I went there was because it is more spacious and conducive for a leisurely meal with friends than Happy Wok Teriyaki -- also on Commercial Ave. Happy Wok Teriyaki has better prices and the food tastes much better, but the place is small and a bit cramped when it gets busy. I love their bento box -- always order it for take out. After the unexpected higher price charged for my meal at Teriyaki Time and the owner arguing with me about it for a long time and insisting loudly that I should have known as "EVERYONE knows the price is higher for white meat!!!" (very bad customer service), I don't think I will be going back to Teriyaki Time again. Leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. They want to nickel and dime you and insist you should have known about the additional prices they charge after you finish your meal and get the bill. Would have given 3 stars for food and ambiance, but giving only one star because of their rude customer service and bad attitude towards customers. read more

Been eating here since Highschool and I graduated '05. This is my go-to spot for Teriyaki in the valley. Even when I moved away from Anacortes, I still found time to come down. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the teriyaki is excellent. The Yakisoba is also good. The food is satisfactory - there were a few times where they messed up our order over the phone but easily forgiven but "a few times too many." Also, once we picked up our order and the staff told us - "why are you late" and gave me an attitude. It isn't like we just left our order and never paid?! Skip it. The food is very good but they are not loyal to loyal customers. They will turn you away if their card machine tells them to use a PIN with a credit card, then tell you they don't accept checks. Then they'll say they DO accept checks, but only after you've driven away in disgust to buy dinner from their competitors. Don't bother. read more

Came here for lunch and had Mongolian beef and some sushi, both dishes were disappointing to say the least. The sushi (Eel) tasted like dirty fish and both dishes left a nasty taste in my mouth that makes me think the food was prepared in a dirty bathroom. Come for the Seattle-style teriyaki. It's a perfect, traditional recreation of the style, at a great price and with very generous portions. For vegetarians, the tofu version is excellent - lightly battered and crispy. The chicken katsu is a very good execution, with good crunch.
