My brother moved into assisted-living in October 2025 and sold his home in Morrow Georgia in early May 2026. Terminix charged him for the same service twice. A refund was issued, but we are unclear if it was sent to the correct account. Terminix has refused to terminate his contract stating he purchased an annual agreement even though he moved and doesn't own the home. They stated the contract automatically renews unless we contact them in July. They will take phone calls, but never do what they say in following up after supposedly escalating and calling back. In my judgment they have taken advantage of a senior. I paid $5,400+ to Terminix, and after remediation work and vet bills, the total damage is well over $10,000. Salesperson Wayne Beirola claimed my home had active termite issues and pushed their most expensive service bundle. After the contract was signed, a Terminix technician later admitted there was no termite activity, which was also confirmed by a separate home inspection report. Despite this, you are locked into a 12-month contract that is extremely difficult to cancel. I spent months calling repeatedly just to stop the renewal. The bigger issue came after their work began. Terminix installed insulation and applied chemical treatments that caused serious air quality problems in my home. Both my dog and I became sick. I ultimately had to hire another company to remove all of the insulation Terminix installed and replace it with non-toxic foam insulation, adding thousands in additional costs. Another issue is their termite bait system. The bait stations remain Terminix's property, meaning if you cancel service they remove or disable them. Other pest companies I use install similar systems for about $500 upfront and the stations remain with the home, with no recurring ownership fees. Between the misrepresentation during the sale, the health issues caused by their work, and the extremely difficult cancellation process, this has been one of the worst service experiences I've had. Starts good, but ends in frustration. I originally contacted Terminix back in October, I had squirrels in my attic and walls so I had to get someone out there quick. Terminix looked great on paper, so I gave them a call and someone came out quick. To have everything done, it was almost $9k. Which was basically setting traps in the attic and the crawl space, going under the house to the crawl space and removing all the insulation, spraying it down to remove the smell from the squirrels who had nested down there, and then replacing all the insulation. They also placed down black tarp and blocked all the vents to keep the squirrels coming in. OK, that was steep but I needed to get it done in fear of maybe the squirrels would chew on the electrical wires and make a bigger issue. The sales man was very confident and explained everything to me ( except the interest from the loan I took through their company to pay for everything ) so I said yes. We scheduled a time and a crew came out and got to work. It turned out that they miscalculated the amount of insulation and because I was already quoted one amount they were not going to charge me anymore because of their error. That was great, I thought "OK, nice. They're taking ownership. This was a nice choice." However, when they left, they left so much debris, lint, and trash that I couldn't let me dog out until my sister used our vacuum cleaner to vacuum THE GRASS. A part of me was understanding but another part of me just wished they said something. If my sister didn't go out to check and saw that mess, I could have let my dog out and a possibility of her eating it. Which would have been an expensive vet issue. Let's fast forward now to around the mid to end of January. I had another company come out to check something with my floors. While down there, he told me he noticed that the dryer vent was not connected to either the dryer itself or to a path that leads outside. He also noticed a large amount of insulation left on the far side of the house. After he left, I went into the crawl space and noticed what he was talking about. Lint was now going all crawlspace. I called Terminix after seeing it and the woman told me that they had no opening spots but they will have someone call me to schedule an appointment when it becomes available. OK, weird but sure. I waited 2 business days and no one called me back. I called back Wednesday, spoke to a man who said "Weird, we have Randy scheduled to come to your house Friday but we just don't know what time Friday". I work from home, so it's fine I guess. I confirmed Friday 2/6 and he said yes. Friday came and went, no call no show. Called Saturday and the woman confirmed someone was supposed to be there early around 8AM-10PM on Friday. Since this was now my third time calling, she was going to escalate the call to her supervisor and I would receive a phone call in 24-48 hours. I gave them 2 business days. I worked at a call center, I get how things get hectic. I'm not a complete monster. I called them back today 2/11/2026 and spoke to another female. I gave her my name and address, knowing they were going to ask for it. I mean, it's my fourth time calling about the same thing. Told her I want to speak to a supervisor. She kept trying to de-escalate the call. I explained the situation for the FOURTH TIME and she then asked for my name and address. "I already provided that to you" but gave me an excuse they need to verify the information. She finally placed me on hold and got me to a District type supervisor, and I explained FOR THE FIFTH TIME the situation. Does no one note the account?? The supervisor explained that she couldn't really help me because she's not over my area. What? She said she would send a request out to the branch in my area and that they would contact her back soon. This around 9AM. She then said regardless of what happens, she would call me back at 10:30AM with an update. It's now 11:17AM. Again, I'm not a monster. I worked at a call center. I know things happen, meetings can come up unexpectedly, but I'm about to call a FIFTH TIME and explain the situation a SIXTH TIME. I'm not asking them to completely redo everything. Just remove the insulation your company left and fix the dryer vent. That's it. It will take less than 30 minutes! It honestly feels like they're purposely giving me the run around so I would just do it myself. I will NEVER SUGGEST TERMINIX at this point to ANYONE. This company is horrible, despite the fact that the individual customer service representatives are polite and professional. Unfortunately, the way Terminix operates makes it an extremely frustrating company to deal with. First, billing is a mess. If you call in, you are often offered a lower price than what appears on the invoice, which shows how inconsistent and inflated their pricing is. They constantly push autopay, additional services, or paying a full year upfront with "discounts" (for example, $200 off), which only highlights how much they overprice services to begin with. I do not want to prepay for services I haven't yet received. Second, the constant calls and letters are excessive. I receive repeated calls trying to upsell more services, and I've received letters stating my account is overdue and headed to collections before I've even received the monthly invoice. This is stressful and completely unacceptable. The worst part, however, is how difficult they make it to cancel. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone just trying to terminate service, giving all my information, only to be told I had to be transferred again to another department. When you try to cancel, you are forced to listen to additional sales pitches and retention offers. It's clear that customer service representatives are required to follow a scripted process before cancellation, which feels less like customer service and more like harassment of customers who are simply trying to end service. On top of that, Terminix uses bait station retrieval as another delay tactic, claiming cancellation cannot be finalized until an appointment is scheduled to remove equipment. This adds another layer of inconvenience and creates unnecessary delays, during which billing can continue. There are literally hundreds of pest control companies that do not operate this way. Inspection was scheduled for 10-12. At 11:30AM the technician called and cancelled. We contacted Terminix immediately and they scheduled another tech for 3-5PM that day. At 4:15PM we contacted Terminix to get an ETA and was told they had no record of our appointment. After investigation "Daniel" determined that we were indeed on the schedule for a general inspection -- not the annual termite inspection (despite the fact that was what we had requested and received the service the last two years prior in March/April). After many years and thousands of dollars spent as a loyal customer, Terminix was very dishonest. They have made a poor choice to tell us that a utility room off of the garage showed signs of termite activity. This is a 70 year old utility room that has had many projects stored inside with sawdust, grease, paint and solvents. The baseboard is not in great shape. However, there are No Termites! There might be a mouse, but nothing more. The 2 photos that the Terminix employee sent show exactly what I have stated and nothing more. The house and garage structures are perfect! No infestation of any kind and zero insect activity currently. This was an attempt to get $1,400 dollars from people that live 8 hours away! Plain and simple greed and trying to take advantage of a house sale situation. They are the big lovers in the deal as they have been Fired! I am going to repeat the story to anyone and everyone that I come into contact with in Atlanta! I know a lot of people as we grew up there and have many friends that live there currently. I paid $1200 for EXCURSION SERVICES. I Have BATS NESTING IN MY ROOF. 2024 - I HAD EXCURSION COVERAGE A technician came out and confirmed that the bats are roosting on the outside of my roof. He told me that he would send someone out to resolve and seal the area that he saw was causing the issue. Needless to say I told them that they were too expensive and please kindly remove my info. Imagine my surprise when I get a call the very next morning from someone at the company saying they are on the way for an inspection. I called and told them of the shady business practice and asked once again for my info to be removed and was told they couldn't do that. However, on Thursday, I received a call from the inspector, James, who informed me that the service would actually cost $325. He said he'd try to escalate the issue, but ultimately there was "nothing he could do." He asked if I still wanted the appointment--I reluctantly agreed. Not trusting the inconsistency, I called Terminix again to confirm. After explaining the services I needed a second time, I was again quoted "FREE SERVICES." James explained to the agent why the inspection wasn't free, and the agent admitted, "I should have asked more follow-up questions." That's already unacceptable. But here's where it gets even worse. Friday arrives. My scheduled inspection window is 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. By 10:30, I hadn't heard anything, so I called James. No answer--just voicemail. I left a message. By 11:08, still no response, so I called Terminix customer service. The agent confirmed my appointment was active and said a different technician, Jeffrey, would now be coming. Jeffrey called and immediately tried to reschedule, even though I had already confirmed this appointment three separate times. I explained that rescheduling wasn't an option--my buyer and I were up against a due diligence deadline. He agreed to come but quoted me $400-$500, verbatim. When I asked why I was now getting a different price again, his response was: "James' price is James' price. My price is $400-$500 because we don't have the availability." Wow!!! The worst service I have ever gotten! I have been a customer for over two years paying about seventy dollars a month. I work at home, so I can be flexible with times for treatments. The problem is I started to notice the "tech" that was treating my house would always come multiple hours late and would never address any issues I brought up. Most of the time he would show up late and leave within 15-20 minutes. I then called a supervisor who told me they would get another "tech", however the soonest appointment they could book was two weeks out. I thought to my self "no way this person would care less than the last one". To my surprise! Is there a "no star" option? Do NOT use the Terminix Exclusion Contract because you will be throwing your money away. We have had an Exclusion Contract for 5 years, and now when we need them (there are actually squirrels IN MY HOUSE), they will NOT provide service. I have been making calls since OCTOBER (now 5 months), and the squirrels have eaten through rafters, some have died in the walls (I've killed over 100 flies). After MANY calls, a technician arrived WITHOUT A LADDER!!! He said he would come back with someone who could hold the ladder but never did. When you call, you only get a remote person who "puts in a request to the local office". I don't even know what to do now except hire another company to get rid of the pests. read more

They were unorganized, the technicians were extremely rude(literally fighting with people on the phone in front of us and being outright rude throughout entire service request) refusing to retreat for powder beetles after they treated and it didn't work, not inspecting parts of our home where we later found issues and had to get them fixed by a whole other company and lost tons of money on repairs, never getting anyone to call us back and figure it out, showing up unexpectedly and not even knowing other technicians had been by, keeping us on hold for up to an hour, trying to loop us into continuing to pay even when we have called and requested to cancel on multiple occasions.....the list goes on. I don't even know how its possible for a company to function this egregiously unless they are trying very hard to do the worst job possible. What happens when you trap moisture and organic material in a plastic container and let it sit in a warm environment? It grows mold. That's what Terminix did to my crawlspace. I bought my house in July. The hvac doesn't go to the basement and I hated the dingy crawlspace, so when the Terminix inspector told me I should do something about the moisture to PREVENT any damages, I asked about encapsulation. He recommended it. I was told they first disinfect the joists under the floors to remove any mold spores that may be there (though there were none visible), then they put the vapor barrier on the walls and floor and install a dehumidifier to remove any other moisture from the air. Unfortunately, the technicians didn't bring a hose long enough to route the dehumidifier outside so they buried the hose in the ground and said it was fine but they would be back with a new one. They never came back. The hose filled up with water because the ground was too hard and the dehumidifier stopped removing moisture. Two months later I start smelling a strong musty smell in my kitchen. I have a mold inspector come out and he asked if I had a crawlspace. I told him it was encapsulated and there was a dehumidifier but he looked anyway. As soon as we opened the door to the crawlspace you could smell it and see it very clearly. The humidity was high. And the hose was completely filled with water. I spent $4000 on mold remediation. Termix now claims the mold was all there before the encapsulation so it's not their problem. They said mold does not grow that quickly, so it must have already been there. That's incorrect and it was not there prior. I had a third party home inspection before buying the house, I was in the crawlspace myself, a Terminix inspector was in the crawlspace ( pointed out moisture but said there were no damages at that point), and two Terminix technicians were there who made no mention of the mold. Since they were supposed to disinfect the joists. You'd think they would mention it before encapsulating it if it were there but it was not. The service was supposed to remove and prevent moisture and prevent wood rot and mold but it FAILED to do so. I want a refund for the encapsulation services. I'm not even asking for the remediation cost but they underperformed in their services and I want a refund. I've also had to harass them to get a new hose routed outside, they came three times before they had the right hose or tools. They don't want to deal with the issue so it took MULTIPLE emails and calls before I even got a call back from a manager. I was told many times I'd be called back within an hour or two hours and never was. I will continue to seek a refund for the services and I'll be canceling my pest control with them as well. read more

Their customer service is pathetic. I called about squirrels in my attic. They failed to show for their appointment claiming Roberto was double booked. It took two weeks to came out and get rid of the squirrels and tighten up the house to prevent them from getting in. The day after they were here, the squirrels are still in the attic and are now trapped in. They will not return my calls. It is not possible to contact local office directly. It goes to a national call center that tells me it will be 2 weeks before they can come back. I am disputing the credit card fee since they did not resolve the issue. read more
